  1. Hard to beat free fuel! I talked to the chapter president and the final count was 195 trucks at the show.
  2. This has been shown before but Hercules Wrecking has one impressive looking Autocar and demo trailer!
  3. Polish it up and take a picture.
  4. One of these days I will probably pull up to the Costco fuel island and see a pump with a placard saying Sailboat Fuel.
  5. Looks like some good potential there.
  6. If it ain't one thing, it's another.... Hopefully it is a good grilling weekend with proper liquid refreshment and a better week coming up!
  7. Great selection of Macks! Excellent AB wrecker.
  8. I use conventional DOT 3. Before going to far each year, the vehicle gets a quick bleed and inspection all the way around and top off the master cylinder. After four years, the fluid in the system is changed completely. Some like the synthetic for vehicles that don't get used too often but I find that the DOT 3 with a little maint. works well. Mack used brake fluid that meets SAE 70R1 and SAE 70R3 ratings. 70R1 is equal to DOT 4 and 70R3 matches to DOT 3 if I am reading the chart correctly.
  9. Keep the R model. You have spent money getting it all sorted out so it is time to make and save some money.
  10. Fine job! Put some boards on the dump and it can go back to work.
  11. Maybe Fed Ex is implementing some sort of new air bag system in case of an accident? Sorry to hear about the freightshaker.....
  12. Would have worked great as an inner city tractor around here. Great looking "butter" face....
  13. That is BIG! Going to need lots of floaties.
  14. I'm in line also. Remember this wrecker on some site and the new owner had a farm or railroad museum???
  15. Yes it is. SWW69W and SW80 rear suspension were both rated at 80. SWD69 was 80,000 on springs. Really big springs...
  16. The ohms need to match up for the gauge to indicate the correct level of fuel. If you have or can borrow a multimeter, put it on the ohms scale and see what the reading is at the fuel sender when the truck is full and then check it when you know the truck is getting close to empty. That will verify the ohms range of the gauge you will need to buy. You can also call the dealer and with your VIN, they may tell you the ohms rating that belongs to your truck.
  17. Thanks Guy for getting back to us. The full VIN would be DM863SX1008. The "63" indicates the use of a Cummins 335 HP for power. Would be nice if it was still around!
  18. One leaf with a bag......so they can park low...... isn't that fashionable. Let me guess, the shifter knob touches the headliner too.
  19. Fine job with the pics. In focus, all right side up and excellent subject material.
  20. Not up on Australian models, so my guess is right hand drive ML tandem with a 300 engine.
  21. Good looking DM! Lots of Omaha Orange paint to buy.
  22. Sad news. I talked with Bob every so often at shows and he always had some great stories. He loved his Mack trucks.
