  1. Mack made 53 EH and 3 SH buses. It is fun to see an E not on spokes.
  2. Quality family time!
  3. If both parties are OK then that is good. Lately, all auctions have been making me cranky. Increased BS, increased buyers premiums, etc......
  4. I am all for saving money but finding a GOOD used harness for a 50-60 year old truck is going to be tough. Even if someone hasn't been there to fix it before you get it, the insulation is going to be all dried out and brittle making removal and re-installation a mess.
  5. Were you dating the secretary?
  6. Might have been condensation from heat cycling of the engine? I never really minded playing with points but certainly electronic ignition is nice to have with usually better performance and economy. I have been lucky and only had one module ever fail.
  7. WOW! Best of luck and have fun in your new adventure. Boy, I guess their beer selection really is good! Jim
  8. It sucks that they sent you a metric harness. All wiring can be fixed with scotch locks...
  9. Interesting. https://www.rbauction.com/2004-MACK-RD688S-TA-UNUSED?invId=4409323&id=ci&auction=KANSAS-CITY-MO-2015225
  10. At this point, time to get the test light out to see where you have power and where you don't. First stop would be the switch to make sure you have power going to the high beams.
  11. Pretty KooL picture to find!
  12. Actually, our quota for new members is all filled up. Oh, never mind, c'mon in!
  13. Dealer should have them or PAI.
  14. Most folks use the R model style top and bottom now.
  15. A combination of a Clariben and Combs Custom?
  16. I have one. Sadly, not in that condition. Probably should put it on ebay and try to get half the money! Two determined bidders can really make an auction. The seller has a second one with a buy it now at $750.00. http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-MACK-JUNIOR-BY-REO-TRUCK-BULLDOG-EMBLEM-HOOD-ORNAMENT-MACK-JR-/311311954913?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item487ba373e1
  17. Business is business. I know a couple of people that run Western Stars and they like them. In today's environment, do the best research you can and get the best service department possible. Between warranty issues and down time, a well run service dept. will save you money.
  18. A couple of 6-110 made into 1950's GM trucks but they didn't perform as hoped so the plan was dropped. Supposedly the 6-110 worked best at a constant rpm versus a truck application where it was constantly cycling between low idle and high idle in operation. The test was done with PIE, Pacific Intermountain Express.
  19. Aerodynamics! Look at the trailer ramps angled back. That gave more down force. Hey, that is what the NASCAR boys say....
  20. 5/8" 200-225 lbs 3/4" 350-385 lbs 7/8" 550-600 lbs 1" 800-880 lbs 1-1/8" 1150-1250 lbs 1-1/4" 1600-1700 lbs
  21. That there is one funny looking clatter-pillar injuns....
  22. Short clip here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2xto7hwnfQ Also a nice Super.
  23. The kit from Lancaster is pretty nice, but it can be done with patience from board if you have some old material to help with the pattern. Either way, putting a headliner into an egg shaped cab can be a little tricky.
