  1. The other half are sitting on the curb.
  2. Here is VMAC and VMAC 111. http://collision.alldata.com/online2help/techRef/Powertrain_Trouble_Code_Charts/Mack/V-MAC.htm http://www.auroramack.com/pdf/308/V-MAC%20Fault%20Assignments.pdf
  3. Under hood engine air intake was an available option on trucks after the tip turbine system went away.
  4. The hood scoop air goes to the charge air cooler. One duct to the air cleaner goes to the turbo. The second duct picks up warm air from under hood for the engine which was popular in cold climates.
  5. Maybe type in your truck info and see if you can narrow it down by application. Looks like a 991451. http://catalog.hortonww.com/catalog/index.asp
  6. Nice! It will be a little project but last time I checked, they aren't making new Supers.
  7. Don't think it would be condensation if the truck is working five days a week. Hot oil would get rid of water pretty quickly once the truck is up to temperature.
  8. I don't remember the price but it was pretty big money like you say. Who knows, maybe in this world of messed up computerized trucks, it was a bargain. I think they were single axle trucks which would be a limiting factor for some.
  9. Camel toe rides better than camel back.
  10. The 1930 Ahrens Fox Falmouth fire truck sold for $93,500.00.
  11. B-81 emblems are good find!
  12. I tried to get one through Mack a while back and was told it was discontinued.
  13. That was a nice one but couldn't justify the price.
  14. The 1951 Crosley fire truck from the Ron Pratte collection went for $115,500.00
  15. A 1941 201 sold for $70,400 and a 1949 has yet to the cross the block. Both very nicely restored still retaining the Hercules motor. The 1949 is a past AACA winner. A 1947 201 sold for $44,000. Nicely done but not restored to beyond OEM specifications.
  16. A 1949 Power Wagon sold for $102,000 before buyer's premium! WoW!
  17. The ever increasing auction fees and premiums are taking a lot of the fun out of it for me. Don't get me started on "bidders" that "help" a live auction or phantom internet bidders...
  18. I like the Diamond T pickup! Hey, twins! They dress alike..... I have watched a little bit and spent a lot of money I don't have. Some great looking iron. The one that killed me was the 1940 Ford pickup hot rod that sold for $350,000!!!
  19. I saw that and had the same thought. It may be 100% correct for something? If it was a "show" radiator cap, it would be female threads, I would think. This is male threads. Was it the fill plug for a water tank on an early fire truck? Appears to be vented. Maybe get and use it as a paper weight. It would be an expensive paperweight!
  20. Welcome! In very general terms, it works like a posi traction. When one side of the axle slips, it will lock up both sides. Sometimes it is nice to flip a switch and lock before hitting a bad spot but most times an automatic power divider works pretty well. Since the truck is new to you and with high miles, buy an oil sample kit to determine what is going on in the engine. It will give you a benchmark for comparing to future oil samples. Did you get any paperwork showing previous bearing work? For line haul type work, Mack uses 6 mos. or 600 hours of engine time. For dump truck work, Mack uses 3 mos. or 300 hrs, which ever comes first for an oil change. ....................................................6 mos......600hrs....................................... for an oil and filters change. Change the fuel filters at the same time as the oil filters.
  21. Here is a really old For Sale ad. Would have been a 475 Scania engine.
  22. With all those logs piled up, did you bring your Husqvarna with you on vacation? You are having one hell of a trip!
  23. You could use something like this inline Wix filter as an example. Fairly inexpensive and easy to change. http://www.finditparts.com/products/2523858/wix-filters-33270?srcid=CHL01SCL010-Npla-Dmdt-Gusa-Svbr-Mmuu-K2523858&gclid=CPPO86jXkcMCFZCIaQodgb4AVg
