  1. That dog is going to do some strutting now!
  2. The B does look familiar. I think it may have been at Trovei's yard in NY?
  3. Vlad is doing some and he can explain more. Here is a link to what he is up to. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/29254-frame-is-ready/page-1?hl=riviting It is sure the most correct way to do the restoration. Things that I have worked on go back together with flange bolts.
  4. The cabbage may have been heading to the coleslaw plant and the driver started the process early....
  5. With a long block from Mack, there should be a very clear paper trail as to what has happened to the truck and warranty information.
  6. Why scrap it? Call around to find a DD guy that can look over your situation. These engines have specifications when built. He can see if there is a mechanical problem and advise you what your options are. The internet is a great place but some situations can't be solved without being there in person and really looking it all over.
  7. As far as I know, the B71 was always the way it is with an extended nose. The B21 in fire service had an extended nose to accomadate the Hall Scott gas motor. I have never measured to see if the 21 and 71 shared the sheet metal or if it was just a similar design. The 73,75,77 had the rear fender filler panels all the way through their run. They started out with a soft nose radiator and standard steel B headlight panels. As the need for cooling increase, the larger aluminum radiator and narrower cast aluminum headlight panels were introduce. I have never seen the black tractor in person but it sure does look good and would be interesting to find out what is going on with it. Jim
  8. Back in the day, Pinto bodied Mods were everywhere! Watched them at Riverside Park, Thompson, Westboro, Monadnock, and Stafford Springs.
  9. Keep buffing on it. It's going to look great!
  10. Time to get some Bull Bars? Hope you get some time in the truck with fewer special situations on the road.
  11. Excellent! Congratulations! Lots of interesting things in the world involve welding. I not sure about underwater welding though.
  12. Looks like a B-61X. B-71 had the extended nose so a Cummins could fit i believe.

  14. Depending on where the "crack" is in the block, you may have created a boat anchor.
  15. Man, what happened? I always put it into "Park" before I take my nap...
  16. Sorry, had a brain fart. Thought your were working on a B.
  17. Yes they were. For many years Mack used these codes numbers after the 4, 6, 7, etc indicating chassis weight. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/tutorials/article/78-mack-engine-codes/
  18. "5" is CAT. We are not supposed to talk about DD.....
  19. I have had good luck buying both B speedos and tachs off ebay. I used a 94" cable on my B75 with L cab. Just came out the firewall across the cross rods and dropped right down.
  20. 633 is a Cummins powered tandem. I like the floats on the front!
  21. Now you are just showing off.
  22. Thanks Paul! Made me start choking on my Cap'n Krunch.
