  1. There was a B-85 fire truck and a B-85 as is the yellow truck in the picture. The B-85 (B81 style) was available between 1956-1964 with 77 being built. 29 B-853 (turbocharged) were built between 1956-1965. Cummins power was installed at the US factory.
  2. Active trucks plus their own used parts department!
  3. That's a good looking cooler!
  4. Holy Cow! Stay safe Tech. Hopefully the utilities can do the repairs faster than the estimate.
  5. We all live in different neighborhoods but it is going to be HOT everywhere this weekend! Amber recommends staying hydrated and hanging out by the pool.
  6. This handsome green AB coal truck plus a couple more green trucks are owned by Mr. Greene.

  7. WHAT??? I thought the bridge was going to be done by 2024! My grandparent's neighbor did some ocean travel via a working ship many decades ago. Might have to do a little computer search about that and see what may be out there for options.
  8. Does seem that FoMoCo wants your business for a 30 year old truck. Hmmmm...
  9. Wish I could put in on my social schedule for 2020 Brocky! It is an awful long drive but I would like to do it someday. With various post from Swishy, Paul and Timmy plus some of travel shows on tv, I believe a visit would be the adventure of a lifetime!
  10. Fewer holes is always better.
  11. Excellent! Nothing better than a indoor spot for working on projects.
  12. Is your suitcase already packed Brocky?
  13. Here is a scan for the brake system. Shows where things go but routing them away from heat will be up to you! Grand Rock has exhaust for a Mack DM which as close as they get to a U model. Check page 166. I would get OEM from the turbo down for sure and then make what might be needed whether you have heat to your dump box or not. http://grpipes.com/sites/default/files/catalogs/files/GrandRock2018v2i2.pdf
  14. Nice that you had a good trip to collect your treasure except for the roads! The Eisenhower System of Highways does have a "few" rough spots these days.
  15. Not a great picture but this wrecker reminds me of a rig in the town where I grew up.

    Engine Manual

The manuals show up on fleabay on a fairly regular basis.
  17. Hopefully no restoration is in its future. Maintenance as needed and preservation care.
  18. That filter number sounds about right. Without looking at what you have, it is hard to say. Numbers gone? Running a bypass filter? 16 qts are in the pan. Take a look at the chart for how many qts are in your filter setup. 20W-40 or 10W-30 were OEM specs. I use Rotella 15W-40 or Mobil Delvac 15W-40.
  19. Interesting to see a Farr air cleaner mounted. Usually see those on Detroit Diesel equipped rigs. Original buyer wanted it built to his specs!
  20. Nice! A fellow down the street has a couple 12V pickups. Engines are super solid. He has gone through many ball joints because of plowing.
  21. No spit and polish but this Bulldog stood tall and proud on the show field.
  22. You guys are looking for a challenge. Busy time of the year to be doing painting!
  23. Usually there is a casting number but it sounds like the rust handled that already. If you have a good parts shop with an "old guy" there is a chance of matching it up. Back in the day many parts under Mack, Ford, Chevy etc were actually the same part. If the physical casting dimensions match your OEM along with the bore dimension, you are good to go. White Post Restoration can stainless line your original cylinders as an option. https://whitepost.com/brake-sleeving-rebuilding-services/
  24. Welcome aboard!
  25. Dang! Sort of hoping I made your list of undesirables. It is only Tuesday and it seems I am on everyone else's shit list for the week! Forums have changed with so many going to Facebook. Forum updates, people changing interest and the crap that Volvo is producing with a Mack name have demoralized a few I suspect. Heaven forbid, maybe we have become boring? I have been around for a day or two and have enjoyed OD's Pictures of the Week, all the projects and show photos that have been posted by many folks, FT's racing exploits, Ray delivering nursery stock or moving trucks, folks trying to figure out codes and cups on the modern junk and talking about everything and anything. Appreciate when Glen sets us straight. Ron, HK and Superdog were good for that as well. And what the hell is 41 Chevy doing now? Might need to check our alibi. We obviously have folks that lurk who used to be regular members and it would be nice if they would stop in and say Hi. If they don't want to, that is their right. Can't force them to participate. Hard to please all the folks all the time, I guess. There have been a couple members including yourself that have launched spectacular diatribes on various subjects that were priceless. I printed copies so I would still have them in case of a crash. Some got pretty heated and took a few days to simmer down and sort out! Water over the dam at this point. All for the love of a Dog.
