  1. Excellent point. Visor has been added as standard equipment!
  2. Here is a Mack D model tanker at the museum.
  3. That was Ken Robinson of Blackstone who passed away in 2013. Here is his D-42 when it was being sold at the Remillard auction in 2017. Jeff Remillard had previously purchased the D when an auction was held to settle the estate of Mr. Robinson.
  4. Hmmm..... Under tractored or over trailered?
  5. I would only change two things. Swap the mirrors so the dogs face forward and that the R model was still available to buy brand new! 1987 magazine ad.
  6. Yes, it was purchased brand new to serve as a fire truck for Keene, NH then as a backup fire truck in Vermont. After many years, it than was used as bar decoration at the Firehouse Restaurant (or a similar type name) in Worcester, MA before Rich Kurzontkowski bought the remains at auction. It had been cut apart at the back of the cab. Rich had to find or build everything to make it a complete truck again. He has dump trucks so it was done up that way.
  7. I would probably look for a used rear set up to get a better ratio and newer style brakes and stay with spokes. Lots of spokes still in Maine in the logging trade and when they wreck them, the trucks go to yards such as White and Bradstreet. Worth a phone to see what is out there. http://www.white-bradstreet.com/ or https://rydemore.com/ in Mass.
  8. Waiting for parts. Hmmmm..... An Autocar with a harvest body and a Star with a dump body.
  9. That's cleaning up nicely!
  10. Value can be all over the place. How well does it run? Amount of rust-dents-damage? What difficult to find part is missing? All emblems and trim in place? Brakes? Sight unseen ballpark $2,200-2,400.
  11. Some EQ's may have been chain drive but the vast majority of the over 10,000 built were regular shaft drive. The ES (75 built) and the ER (359 built) were chain drive. The ES and ER were later superseded by the chain drive Mack FP.
  12. Parked out back at a show. Looks like a show truck to me!!
  13. Side loading was the way back in the day. Pretty tough on the deck boards!
  14. "Volvo issues" are throughout the industry... Here is one in Michigan supposedly. https://www.truckspring.com/products/Kodiak-Topkick-C4-and-C5-Drag-Link-1950-Inches__DS2269.aspx
  15. Probably more than a stripe!!
  16. You are right. When I added the caption to the picture, made a typo. Changed it to 992K.
  17. 1981 E6-315 tip turbine has an oem range of 18-26 psi. So, in spec but may be able to get a little more on it. Interestingly, a 1982 E6-325 with a chassis mounted cooler was set up for 15-23 psi boost.
  18. 1959 Brockway 257T at Macungie in 2012 or so.
  19. Small CAT loader in the next town over.
  20. Happy Birthday! Time to put the plow on the tractor and do some spring planting.
  21. The oem copper fuel line should be good providing it cleans out. That would be my first choice. The fuel pres. is low, maybe 3-5 psi. I will see if I can find a spec. There are adjustable regulators available to make sure the pres doesn't over run the carb needle and seat.
  22. I believe the AL461 is Hendrickson HAS 46K. The Primaax is more heavy duty.
  23. It is a nice rig Mike. Wish I had the storage for it but I have too much stuff in borrowed space as it is. Stop in when you can.
  24. It isn't online like the B registry that I have ever seen. PM Andy for info.
