  1. A handsome little rig.
  2. What a Bruiser! Higgins in Buffalo, NY had a similar rig. 1964 Hendrickson.
  3. I have never asked but I am pretty sure Mack (volvo) will have nothing. Possibility of a good commercial glass shop might have something. The shop near me has a big book listing gaskets for trucks, backhoes, tractors, etc. Again never checked to be positive but the R and the F may share the same w/s profile and a repair piece could be spliced in using weatherstrip adhesive. Did a repair on a Brockway years ago with a splice. Not perfect, but not bad either. Lockstrip can be found at glass shops. Whatever you do, DON'T break your windshields!
  4. Nice to have the right tool for the job.
  5. That houseboat is too big for the creek....
  6. No "iron" deficiency for you that day! PACCAR could use a couple of your glamour pics to help sell heavy haul KWs. Hmmm...... nevermind. PACCAR has no problem selling heavy haul tractors...
  7. Truck looks good! Hopefully you can do a deal.
  8. Digging right into the cab Matt! The L cab is indeed not as rigid as the B cab. Having the L cowl bolt to the door pillar post is just not as strong. Did the same deal with a new floor, sills, back panel, remove and blast the cowl so all metal gets paint, etc. Had an auto body shop claim that they knew what they were doing. Blah, blah ,blah.... Now I have some cracks and bubbling that make me unhappy. The door fit could be also better. Should have done it myself. Body shop hell is what I call it now. My number one advice is to do as much welding and repair work with the cab firmly bolted down to the frame rails with all rubber mounts in place and with the doors hung. There was a huge amount of cross bracing installed in my cab for the repair work and even still there was some movement from welding. When it was time to install the cab, there were some alignment issues with the mounts. Also, the L doors weigh so much when fully dressed that it is my contention that they should be in place and checked for proper closing as the rebuild process moves forward. Have the four door alignment wedges in place also.
  9. 1977 Brockway 761 with a Chevron rollback body.
  10. Damn! Seems like you have been plenty busy. The horse ride sounds like the ultimate adventure.
  11. 6:45 am? Better get a large coffee for the stake out.
  12. The 1964 AP-19 had a 12 cylinder 525 HP Cummins under the hood and certainly had more water capacity than the Mack.
  13. The Consolidated crane is pretty sweet!
  14. Idiots! I told them to make the soda delivery to Cressy Beach in Gloucester! Nobody listens these days.... I was really thirsty too.
  15. Not a bad ride considering that you were sharing the road still with horse and buggies in many areas of the country. The way it was 102 years ago.
  16. Don't have an 1987 book but that is a good number for a 1986 EM6-300.
  17. Tubeless one piece 22.5" rims available Anywhere, USA will be the way to go.
  18. Spokes look good! I had forgotten about the aluminum tanks and they are definitely a fine addition.
  19. Made lots of noise. Hmmm...
  20. I am VERY disappointed at this piss poor attitude.... Especially since I was hoping you would stop over and paint several sets of hubs and Daytons at my place. Beer would be provided but you bring the brushes. Deal...?
  21. Very sad and scary.
  22. Both the buckle and truck look mighty fine!
  23. There is possibility the truck did not have a warning device besides the driver watching the gauge. DOT then was not like the DOT today. A lot of old trucking pictures show plenty of bald tires and fenders held on with baling wire. A low pres. switch installed on the air tank or a firewall mounted air manifold running to a cab buzzer would work or you could plumb a wig wag. Only problem with a wig wag in front of the driver is that the header trim in an A model is sort of narrow to work with. I would go for an electric buzzer.
  24. Should be right side frame rails behind the tire.
