I actually have a slide hammer made for this already, I think I will give it a shot tomorrow, its too damn cold for wrenchin tonight. My OTC puller stripped out 2 of the nozzles already, pulled the tip right out of the injector body itself. Thank god I have the adaptor which screws into the body deeper than the tip so I'm able to catch good threads...hopefully. I'll try the mapp gas and keep my fingers crossed. I'm using liquid wrench, maybe Kano Kroil would be a better penatrating oil?

Hey guys, happy new year to all! Today I pulled my pump so I can send it out to be rebuilt, I wanted to put a new matched set of injectors as well, the last 2 pulled no problem (truck is a DM with a 2 valve 300) the last 2 were not exposed to the elements of salt and rain because they were tucked into the doghouse, the next 4 are giving me a problem. I have the OTC puller and I soaked them with liquid wrench for about 4 hours prior to pulling them, no dice...I stripped out 2 already...I have all the adaptors with the puler so I should be ok threading the puller head right into the nozzle now, my question is what is the best oil to soak with and are there any tricks to pulling stubborn frozen injectors? I dont want to pull the heads, Please help

If you replaced the rear rear and used your original yoke its possible your yoke had a wear sleave on it, if it did and you have a stock OEM seal on your rear the yoke is going to shread the seal apart in time and your going to have gear oil slinging everywhere, I know it happened to me. If not it could just be a bad seal or a vent cap clogged on the rear. As far as your noises go, I would block the truck up in the air and run thru the gears with someone listening to try and pin point where they are coming from. Sounds dangerous but we do it all the time and never had an accident (knock on wood) Before you go broke, and or insane...maybe its just something to let ride and see what happens, I mean everything is new and should be covered by who ever you got the re-mans from. Macks do make noise and vibrate...and it is not easy or cheap to find out why. My point is you could spend another couple grand and still not get it right. To pull the whole drive train apart in my book is way more expensive than just running it and repalcing whatever (if anything) when it fails.

The two black hoses are the intake hoses from the air cleaner. One goes to the turbo (engine intake) one goes to the tip turbine. The gasket you posted the pics of before does nothing more then deflect hot air out of the engine compartment, it serves no real purpose and honestly you really dont need it, and it shouldnt matter at all that it has a rip in it. If you have high exhaust temps your tip turbine could be seized, the tip turbine air cleaner might be clogged or the fins on the intercooler might be clogged. I would start simple, change your air cleaners! It say right on the air cleaner box that if high exhaust temps occur change the filters

I would assume you have the Red Dot heat/ac box in the truck with the air slider controls. I know that if the selector is on max a/c or off the cowl vent should be closed. Vent, defrost, normal a/c its open...not sure about heat.

My 78 steel nose RD tractor (whats left of it) engine and tranny were sold a few years back a few years back. In front of it is an 89 RW-700 Super Liner tractor with a blown up cummins 444, 58 rears and an 18 front end.

Its that time of year when we all (well us up north anyways) LOL start to plug in our trucks at night. My uncles Value Liner went up last night due to a frayed block heater cord. Thank god we were there and caught it in time, no damage other than a melted plug. Be sure to check your cords and use GFI's he didnt have a GFI and the breaker in the shop never popped. This was cause due to a stressed cord being used, they pull 1500 watts plus and if your heater and or cord is not 100% it can happen to you! Check your cords

That gasket should have nothing to due with it, it looks like its there to exhaust the air out of the engine compartment. All trucks sound different, as long as its boosten' I wouldnt worry about it
