I'd come take a look but the flight is measured in days and I really don't want a right hand drive. Then there is the whole shipping issue...Maybe when I hit the lottery. Cool advertisement just the same. -

Kind of along those lines do any of you have aftermarket programs in your trucks (with computerized injection that is)? I've seen some discussion and am personnaly in favor of them given the improved fuel economy and performance on the 5.9 in my Dodge. It would seem that the same improvements could be made on the big engines. What I have seen sounded promising and might be what 8689Superdog is looking for.

I'm ok with the gas engine as they are pretty neat but I agree that the truck without the body is just a b-model in need of a roof. It's too bad but I can't see trying to restore it as a fire truck with no fire body and it doesn't;t make sense as a tractor and no roof. I'd add a new cab and doors and be happy...I'd be in at about $2000 or so. "Rare" or not the possible value left with the body. I don't imagine tandem fire bodies of similar vintage are readily available and the original is no doubt long since scrapped. It's a shame but still a cool Mack...not worth the $.

Don't the cops carry the Uzi over there? It's a serious place. You need to think twice before you get out of line over there. Tough crowd. Lots of history and I'd love to go there myself but with all the issues in that next of the woods I'll stay home. So far no big issues at the grand canyon etc. Unless they let me carry an Uzi..Hmmm...that might work. -

Remind me to never try stealing from you...not that I would. Thieves suck! Sounds like things are covered unless she can somehow disable/destroy the taping. Get council and heed advice. Pray for reconciliation. Best of luck.

Let's all chip in if we are able to the care of his children. Hopefully he had insurance but raising two kids from a young age is going to be tough. There is never a good time I guess but 36 is tragic. God Bless.

Be careful. Keep a journal in a safe place...what you did, weird stuff she does etc. If you write stuff down it is evidence. If you don't, it is just a story. I'll pray things go in a good direction for you and your marriage. Greg

I was going to say that sounds like a train and we all know how that whole idea went. Rail is efficient but when you need fast you don't go rail. The trucking industry and interstate highway system made the rail somewhat obsolete I guess. The integrated truck/trailer concept has been around for decades. Let's see 53'+cab/drive get around the city. I think the turning radius would be a challenge.

Pushing 100" of snow this season in Boston. Maybe over that here already as we are typically in the "Sweet Spot" for snow fall regularly. I've got a big snow blower and the piles are getting high enough that I may not be able to put it on top soon...Snow tonight and tomorrow with another "big" storm potentially next weekend...All this global warming is getting too deep. I'm expecting polar bears to break out any time now.

Yes ma'am! That's FUNNY!!! Sure does help my life go better. And who would not help a nice young lady like that (Red head and all) with her chores...Dang what a nice...well you know. The stamp and the tattoo's I could live without but take the bad with the good I always say. Too funny.

That is rough as hell I'm sure. See if you can work it out. I hate to say counciling helps but it can if both of you want it too. If not its a waste of energy in my humble opinion. Rest assured that you are not alone and that many friends have been down that road at one time in their lives or another. Talk it out when you can if you can. I am sorry for your troubles. If the "bigger" turbo is capable of more pressure at a given condition than it would be driving in more air when you need it in theory. I'm not sure when things go BOOM. A lack of air should yield lots of black smoke or a rich condition. I wonder how the exhaust cleans up or if it does with the higher pressure unit. I also wonder if anyone has tried the alcohol/water injection systems like Snow Performance makes. They are not cheap ($1000) but drop EGT's and boost horsepower. I know they make systems for the small diesels with great success. Please keep us posted on mileage, EGT's and such. This is great stuff. Greg

Hope you are doing better...I miss the grill. At this very moment my grill is up to the lid in snow. I couldn't even open the door to the gas bottle without shoveling it out...then it's too cold to thaw meet in it even if you could get it to light up...May is coming! I'd avoid the green ribs...just sayin. Greg

My B-815 has oil and the see through covers (that you can't see through any more) on it now but I've got the old "Mack" covers to change it back to grease. Are the bearings the same or do they need to be changed "back" for use with the grease? It will never see lots of use. I want it to look like it is factory but don't know the facts surrounding oil vs grease and if the bearings are the same or not. Thanks Greg

Great story and photographs from the day! I might also add that the restoration is very nice as well although I would have found a Mack engine myself as I'm a snob for originality. That is a very nice looking truck and no doubt a great deal of love, care and pride went into it. The old man must be smiling from somewhere on this effort. Thanks for sharing the story. Greg
