  1. 2000 seams relatively new to be over there. I suppose they could buy new ones. Does Mack sell into Africa? Probably not too much dealer support. Yikes.
  2. There is a whole lot of cool in one place there! What a neat looking set up. I want one.
  3. Wrong top on the air cleaner and the marker lights...It's a big dump body but they used them in some applications I think...I give up what are we looking for? I find it ood there are no air horns or marker lights on the roof of the cab.. Greg
  4. What exactly is the objective of all of this stuff? Are we improving safety, easing the loading on the pavement or are we simply forcing the reduction of revenue for every guy trying to earn a buck with a truck? Seriously, what is the point "we" think we are working toward? It seams like we would have come to a suitable combination of road design, truck design (tires, brakes etc.) and weights so that we could do something crazy like pick a standard and live with it... Geezzzzzz!!!
  5. No I think we crossed that gound already. It's a big Zenoth down draft.
  6. What trans is in it? The QB with a .69 5th/High split and 47 inch diameter tires gets me no where near that...I'm looking at 55/60 with 7.49's or am I missing something?
  7. Still no bights on the 707C engine...I'd like to see somebody use it if there is a need. Please let me know...It's almost all there and all in good condition. Have an R model air cleaner that needs a home as well. It's on e-bay now.
  8. Serious truck! Love those 14:00's! Massive rig. Good luck...Hope it runs!
  9. I spent $300,000 on snow removal this year 3x the budget. I need to start construction on a building addition and well we have to move the snow to find the ground to dig in. We got lucky with the big storm going out to sea yesterday...I need to finish blasting and finish metal work and then filler and paint...I need some heat for all that to work. It will sure as hell go right to 90 degrees and we will have the opposite problem...come on spring...hold on summer.
  10. Sorry Man. Hang in there. It sucks to lose a friend. Greg
  11. That is rough. We had a cat wither away and had to put her down two months back. I knew it was coming for six months but it still bugged me. We are creatures of habit and not seeing her every day and night for her food and all was missed. It sounds like you are doing what you can and it's in Gods hands. I pray for you, your family and your dog. Let us know how you make out. Greg
  12. I had the same problem under the air cleaner bracket. A hole the size of my palm was above the vent door. I have the pattern for the patch made and just need to make it and burn it in. Some of my bolts were busted off too but some careful application of the flame wrench got the ends out mostly. I have one I need to drill...I'm almost done with all the fender and nose work...man what a mess of stuff to fix up. Looking good...I hope to splash on some primer and paint once Mother Nature sends a little cooperative heat into New England. Greg
  13. The ad says it is an M-80...? Looks like an L model to me. Is the add just wrong or am I missing something?
  14. I wonder if you can borrow a trailer and haul your own stuff on it? Too many rules but it does sound like Gulfway and others can handle the need. Greg
  15. Research huh...? Sure... I like the spokes too and those trucks are nice. I never see those rugged looking trucks in New England...wonder why.
  16. I don't recall ever seeing one in person. I'm not in love with the Euro looks either so I'm ok with that. Ughhh.
  17. Too blue for me...needs a secondary and contrasting color...Too lazy to mask stuff off maybe? looks like hell...
  18. What is the "L" for? Light? Triple frame? I'm confused. I suppose it could have been added over the years.
  19. American trucker did have it and I've been wondering when it would surface again. It was rough but they got the truck and trailer as I recall. The tires got changed out so they could haul the stuff on the ground. The video for American Trucker is posted on youtube as well. Cool as heck. I hope somebody has the old girl and the cash to make it right again. Greg
  20. Get enough of it open and soak the parts with PB Blaster or some other favorite penetrating oil. It works although it takes time. That is an easy place to start. If that fails after a few weeks (reapply regularly too) you will need to think about strategic heating but that can get out of hand quickly. If you have no idea how to go about that you can mess stuff up quick. Use brains and caution. Good luck
  21. I watched the clip and that is all good stuff. Is there more to it? Is more power, better fuel economy, greater durability and reliability on the radar anywhere? With all that the Fed is doing to keep the air clean, and all of the "progress" coming at the expense of fuel economy, the guy trying to make the bottom line work is in trouble. I'd be looking at solid technology to make it all work. The last thing I would be pushing is how well we fix our broken trucks...it is important but not the first thing to worry about. That is my $0.02. Greg
  22. If his first thought is to worry about how we can fix more of them faster and not how we make them not need fixing, then he is not going to need any time to show how he will do. He will fail. Built like a Mack truck is what got Mack on the map and without the reliability and durability that the name was known for, they are just another me too truck. I'd fire him on the spot for stupid statements like that. What a plan. Sure it makes sense to service the product but if you lead with how fast you can fix them you have missed the boat. Make them run, drive and make the owners money. Invest in the services yes but emphasis the quality!!! Seriously ignorant. "We build crappy turcks but we can turn them around for you real quick with more expensive parts you can't afford." Genious!
  23. Wow. Apparently there is no such thing as slow and easy when doing risky moves loading a truck. Jerking it hard at all times must be best. My old man would have yanked me out of the cab and kicked my a$$. Am I wrong or would it have backed on easier? My 815 backed right up the ramps when we loaded her in NJ and never slipped one inch. Maybe that is a testament to the value of a good power divider too. They are lucky they didn't kill somebody with the reckless behavior in that video. Shameful...
  24. I get how the front or truck side of that trailer all works. How does the back work. I assume the pivot point in the middle of the set of bogies has to be fixed to keep it straight going down the road. If that is correct, I can see where trying to turn a corner would require a whole lot of dragging tires sideways. Do you just turn easy or is there a way to steer the front set? I guess they could be like steering drop axels or something. Can anybody explain that? Love the look of a 988! The flush look of the planetary at the wheel and the proportion of the wheels and fenders is magnificent to say the least! Nice looking rigs.
