  1. That truck was torn up pretty good when it rolled onto it's left side. Rob
  2. And you thought the Pepto-Bismol was for stomach problems. Rob
  3. All that does is move the cab over two more inches. Uncle Rob
  4. Happy B'day Tom!! Hope you don't celebrate it on a "hook"! Rob
  5. Most of the "S" series trucks were built as dumps, mixers, or straight trucks. A good portion of them were double framed. They could, or could not be tractors. My "Yella Dog" is a B61S with glad hands and was a dump trailer hauler in Chicago.Rob
  6. All crushed flatter than day old beer in the sun.Uncle Rob
  7. I use grade 8 fine thread bolts and either lockwashers and nuts, or Nylock nuts, (hardened). You want these tight.Rob
  8. I'd hate to make some cunt faint in the driveway. Pissing on a lady's car, yeah, I've done that!! Rob
  9. Hi Dave, I believe these go over the top of the trunion bar but I'll tell for certain later tonight. The truck will not be operated bobtail after it leaves my shop. Rob
  10. Meet some real JACKWAGONS too. They all seem to be named Rob.
  11. Got a question. Wondering if Mack rear Taperleaf suspension can be ran without shock absorbers? I noticed today two of the rear shocks are busted off at the lower mounts so not doing a whole lot of good. I don't have any other truck on this suspension so wondering if they are for ride comfort or needed for this suspension. Thanks, Rob
  12. If "Momma" looked anything like that when laying down, I'd give her anything she ever wanted. Instead, looking from her head down, I got to look at a great plateau, followed by a couple of majestic peaks, (no snow caps but just as frigid) and as you move further down, a swollen ice dome, and yet further down two flattened depressions were it looks like a flying saucer landed. Feets? Aww gawd, thems is some ugly feets and I've not found a suitable comparison for them.Rob
  13. No, not strong enough to kill the remainin "funk". I first douched my hands with 91% isopropyl alcohol, then a 100% acetone rinse to remove any residual encumbrances. I'm feeling much better now. Trouble is, I'd welcome Randy back despite his obvious faults of driving one of those things........ Rob
  14. Sounds like a Mack 14" clutch with the dished flywheel. Most any scrapyard, or automotive machine shop should have availability for them.Rob

    My kinda ride:

Some will remember when "Momma's" exhaust blasted me in the leg with an undigested chilli bean when she was trying to get even for one of my world reknown "Dutch Oven Surprises" I made special for her.Uncle Rob

And you had to bring that up........Rob
  17. I've debated on taking that tree down for years as it is in the middle of the expanded drive entrance into the shop. It is not in the way with automobiles, but trucks it is definately in the way. The driveway is 14' in width now and the tree is on the edge of it. I'm going to 24' in overall width. The ditch in front of the shop is near six feet deep so need to roll a culvert into it before punching out onto the hiway that runs in front of the shop.I had planned to draft a letter to accompany my check and the reason for the donation although I'm well known there. We support them, "March of Dimes", and "Crittenton Center" whom support abused, battered women and intervene in hostile or drug infected households. Rob
  18. Tell em to put the damned cell phone away and that won't happen. Uncle Rob

    My kinda ride:

It could begin the "hopscotch" trek across the country. I could get it to my place from where it is without too much fanfare. There may be an empty single drop headed your way shortly also.Rob
  20. That's right. And a "V" model always smells better after a wash job than a "U" model ever will. Uncle Rob
  21. And herein lies your problem. Uncle Rob
  22. Just remember "shallow right turns" my boy, and you will be fine. Uncle Rob

    Fresh E9-500

I never really looked at it in depth Ernie, I was still in a daze and recovering after making attempt to patch another Peterbilt back together so thoughts were as of then unclear. Any engine I've ever rebuilt myself have always looked very nice as ever single part has been depainted, cleaned, primed with epoxy and painted. They tend to stay looking good that way for quite a spell. An industrial strength garbage bag goes a long way in keeping them clean. I certainly wouldn't leave a $10,000 engine outside under a tarp myself and I don't think you are anal about that at all. No sense spending money you don't have to and if that engine were rebuilt correct it wouldn't present itself as it does. Of course that is just my opinion(s). Rob
  24. I have yet to hire a brain surgeon. I'm still stuck with the extremely shallow gene pool of rocket scientists which seem plentiful, and available. Most love Obama. Rob
  25. Just remember they favor the left side without the massive counterbalance weight on the right.Uncle Rob
