  1. I'd like to buy it for $250.00 with cash on the barrelhead. See, now you know it's probably worth between $250.00, and $20,000 so quite the disparity. There are just as many opinions as assholes in this world and I think you have a damned nice truck to work with there and should be proud of it. If you think you paid a fair price it's all good and I'm certain the prior owner is happy for you as we are here.
  2. Seems like 2004 was the start of the "AI" series engine and the EGR problems? Friend has a 2001 E7-427 with a little over 1.2M on the clock and it's been a very good engine without any emissions related failures. From what I've seen those air compressors such as the original poster has can be troublesome to get a replacement that holds up long. Another friend has replaced his twice since the original went bad at 900K. The first replacement didn't go 50K before pushing oil, and the second replacement about the same. The third replacement is just a few months old and still going from what I understand. All sourced directly from Mack.
  3. I think better than 50% of the elected politicians in this country on both sides of the aisle need lined up and shot as traitors to the constitution. Remember they have been sworn to uphold and protect this document and it's sacred values. It does not allow room to "barter", or interpret as any political entity sees fit unless amended through compromise and agreement. Until these morons, (both sides) start to talking and working together sidelining their respective personal and party agendas as they are elected to do, little to nothing is going to happen. Yet you and I, continue to pay for it. Term limits, strict accountability, and PAC elimination are good ways to start the correction process.
  4. Exactly. Compromise built this great country, yet so many forget that.
  5. I got one of those too that causes a big black racing stripe on my belly when I drive it!!!
  6. Liberal Media:
  7. Don't negate the likes of what got Trump elected. His past was well known, and documented. Like him or not, I feel he adamantly had "America First" at the forefront of his presidency. The cost is/was high, but look at the likes of the heavy manufacturing sector of this country as a single example and tell us how well the democratic regime of the past 40 years has done the country. I was coming of age when this was ramping up. I am a USN veteran and have acquired PTSD as shown here: Twice I swore to "support and defend the constitution of the United States of America against all enemies both foreign and domestic, so help me god" to which I still do; and my support is not for this garbage we have going on now. Biden got elected more as against Trump than anything else because the general public doesn't have the stomach to stay the course for correction.
  8. I can't remember as it's been over 30 years for me. I usually send heads in as I really don't have any automotive machine shop contacts any longer.
  9. I have a friend outside of Rochester whom I'll pester to get onto the need. No promises but his brother or some relation was a Mack mechanic for a lot of years when the B series was routinely operated and has a bunch of parts. I'd bet a square cut "O" ring is really all you need to line the inside of the oil shield. With them being shown as separate in the manual, it's usually nothing special molded.
  10. I've only seen the type as shown in the book photo myself. Maybe someone has used non standard parts through the years? Machine shop could probably get something functional as a last resort.
  11. Correct you are. Haven't really watched any news since Walter Cronkite, and John Chancellor passed as the mainstream news media "agenda" started to come forth shortly afterward.
  12. Those are called "oil shields" in the service manual from 1965. I'll check for you tomorrow as it's been a while since they've given me the formal greeting I seemingly command there which is "What the fuck you after asshole"?
  13. Guys here like photos so feel free to post some up. I remember a couple plow trucks in the St. Louis area as a young guy but wasn't ever around them to ascertain what they series they were. Not surprised yours is a "P" series originally as they were usually designed for a long frame application and most were double framed.
  14. Yes, I'm wanting to convert my 58 B-61 to single drive on air with the 3.65 ratio rear from a tandem Camelback. Going to 22.5 rubber on that one, (staying spokes) but want to use the original single over triplex transmission. The 5.05 rears are just too slow for today's traffic. Picture is old but truck pretty much looks the same.
  15. That would be my opinion. I would look for a later variant myself like a 300+, (ETAZ673A) or E6-350. and have your injection pump recalibrated to "Maxidyne" settings of which you now have. Again they are getting scarce but finding individual parts to completely build the platform can be done, but it's kind of expensive. Again, just my opinion.
  16. Can't tell you as I don't watch any of that garbage either. Actually never heard of "News Max" myself but in reality I have never had cable TV, or anything but a rabbit ears antenna and as of late, a converter box which will receive from the airwaves. I do watch whatever news program is on PBS, but that's not routinely either. Far too much bias routinely broadcast to the masses to pay much mind to any of it.
  17. Hi Erik, I'm Rob from Farmington, IL about 175 miles SW of you. An RD685P series must have been a platform truck? Seen a few of those as block and cement trucks over the years usually with a long wheelbase and double frame. Heavy series too. What year? You mention in your other thread an E6-237 so early 1980's truck?
  18. Not to be discouraging but I think you could purchase a complete engine, (core, or runner) for what all the parts to build one would cost. I've done a couple in the past and it's a great platform for a B-6X series conversion, but good parts are getting hard to come by.
  19. Probably not as they follow the local and national evening news on television:
  20. Always liked this one too:
  21. Forgot to place in the title I'm wanting another 3.65 ratio. I have 3.87 but wanting just a bit faster. Thanks, Rob
