  1. It is brand new, never installed. Rob
  2. I still can't figger why when a restoration like that is started, little things are not followed through. I noticed from the photos no splash guards on the bottoms of the front fenders although the sandwich clamps are there. The hood latches are not evenly covered in paint. There appears to be paint overspray on the tires from the rims. There also appears to be a bit of paint overspray in one of the door jambs. On top of some of these items, the floor pan needed some clean up work before the green paint was applied. There is plenty of dirt buried in it. Nice truck and I'd like to have it but if left exposed to the elements it looks like a short lived paint job to me. Rob
  3. Moving to Georgia too? Uncle Rob
  4. I'll bet that truck would be quite valuable. Rob
  5. It is what I would do. Rob
  6. May be just me but I'd wager bobtailing that "Crackerbox" would be a handfull on a rough road not to mention ride quality. Rob
  7. I'm in the mood for a lopsided truck video right now. Leaving in just a few minutes to a place that has batteries so my nephew can call 309-219-2070 and tell me what camera he has so I can get this subject settled. I'm getting gas just thinking about it. I'm gonna get a look at your videos too. I'm needin a Detroit Fixx too. Uncle Rob
  8. Hi Joe and thanks. When out to the shop tonight I didn't have the camera with me and I'd estimate this one to be about 7" across the caps also. It uses the 3/8thsX24tpi bolts and straps to retain the caps on the drive yoke. Those are all there too. Rob
  9. Double WTF?? "A week or two"??? What kinda shit is this???? I wanna see a lopsided truck now, I mean Right Effin Now!!! Cmon boy, post it up!!! Give me the camera model, I'm headed to town shortly and I'll get a battery for you tonight.Uncle Rob
  10. Was almost me once installing high voltage lines in a hole with two coworkers. I went to get cold drinks from the truck and someone "lit it up" by throwing the wrong disconnect while I was gone. "Why not me too" I asked myself for a lot of years. Don't take this shit lightly; EVER. Rob
  11. I wasn't there so I can't do any of the aformentioned items. Rob
  12. Give me the camera model and number. I'll get a battery in the mail tomorrow. Uncle Rob
  13. There ain't no way anybody thinks you are gay. I don't have any relation that is gay and that does include you. I'd sit on their face and fart if someone made that assumption/accusation. Uncle Rob
  14. Yeah, I've had to go to the ATHS to see any funny shit. Rob
  15. Yup I was and I admit to the guilt impressed upon me. Please place the forgiveness found within your heart on my sorry dumb ass. I still ain't seen no video of this thing running and am getting anxious. When I show up to darken your doorstep and drive this truck I don't want to rely on booster cables to get it running. Me an you gonna have a "heart to heart" talk before munchin down double halepeno tacos wrapped in crushed nacho cheese "Dorito's" totilla chips. "Momma's" own recipe this one is and it b good for "U". Uncle Rob
  16. A guy stopped by the shop tonight that used to run trucks and gave me three "Bulldog" universal joints. Two are a 1710 series, (full round), and the other looks just like it but much physically larger. It is probably 1.5"-2.0" larger across the caps. What series would this be? 1810? Never have worked with one this big before. He also dropped off two boxes of filters for an "ESI Plus" series E6 engine, and a partial box of "ESI" filters missing the fuel filters and the coolant conditioner. The oil filters are there with an extra thrown in. There are no numbers on the box for the larger universal joint. I'm wondering if this should be got to somebody that could use it via trade, or is it something I'll use down the road? I don't plan on ever having anything newer than prolly 1984 and I'm not making plans to become a trucker anytime soon. Rob
  17. This that is close to what I paid also Dave. Damned sun makes them very brittle. Rob
  18. I took typing every year starting in sixth grade cause of failing miserably in penmanship class. To this day I cannot write and read it unless printing and then it is so small it's difficult at best. Lot of the "boys" made fun of me taking typing which was for "girls". Look how times have changed. Rob
  19. They are still available new but paint to match. Rob
  20. Yeah but the blue streak running down between the folds was the dye "Momma" used on my jeans to cover up that large brown and yellow spot in back. She now boils them on the stove to set the dye into the fabric and it works a little better. Just turns the tops of my legs and lower ass cheeks blue for a couple days when fresh. Think her reference to this is "colorfast". All I know it the color leaves too fast cause if I leak when farting the color runs fast down my legs. Rob
  21. While this statement is very true, that old 672cid engine was moving that much weight many years prior with a bit over 1/2 that horsepower available, and a lot less strength transmission also. They might be slow, but they will get the job done and usually without failure. Rob
  22. I don't think the mistake was "stupid". Complacent; yes, 100% true. Probably done that same manuever over 100 times in the past so took to the task of moving the truck oblivous, or neglecting to check surroundings. It's unfortunate that complacency is a killer also. Been more industrial accidents in the skilled trades resulting in maiming, and fatalities attributed to complacency than what we loosely refer to as "stupid". This incident should serve as a very powerful lesson to anyone exposed as there was no injuries except to pride and that will recover. That is unless I can be there cause I would chastize, criticize, ridicule, mock, and otherwise have a bit of fun as a result of the situation. Rob
  23. Sorry but I always had a hard time eatin something that looked like "Blown Groceries" too. And there ain't much I won't eat out there. Rob
  24. Shesssss, where the hell is my nephew. He's past the BMT curfew. Ain't got to do no speaks about lopsided trucks all day Rob
  25. Well hell yes welcome to the site. I used to go by Rob over at ATHS too but I couldn't say shit without it getting pulled so I posted "fuck em" and haven't been back since. I make the assumption they don't have the balls to let that one stand either. Rob
