  1. That really is a nice looking truck by the photo. Rob
  2. The purchase is the least expensive part usually. As has been mentioned just the cost to get them back home can be very expensive even if you do it yourself. At current fuel prices in a vehicle that averages 10mpg, your cost in fuel only is right at .40 per running mile. This on top of the wear on everything else. This says nothing about working for free if you negate your own time. Rob
  3. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mack-F-600-cabover-/130667321903?pt=Commercial_Trucks&hash=item1e6c611a2f $5500.00 starting bid and reserve not met. Rob
  4. Give her credit. She knows more about the subject than us.Rob
  5. Just got all three flaps to my chin(s) washed up and freshly deodorized so I'm off to the shop to build the test gauge. More later...... Rob
  6. I don't think I've seen a single one that I like the looks of cosmetically. However, if'n I were making a living in a truck when they were commonplace, I think I would have rated the convienience of service over the cosmetic appeal. Food on the table is always first and making the job easier fits right in with that analogy.Rob
  7. Don't think so. Express away!!Rob
  8. That was a good movie. I like Jack Nicholson. He is so mentally stable."I want the truth"!! "You can't handle the truth"! Rob
  9. Safety Dance; man did comments about them in an innapropriate place get me into some trouble. Over the microphone at a school gathering/play in which my son starred in, I announced: "Now that we are passed those peter puffin wienie washers....... Rob
  10. The B73's were Cummins powered. The B75's were Mack powered by an inline engine. The B755's were Mack V8 powered.Rob
  11. I had one in 1976 and with the exception of black interior, was just like it. It that a Ram Aiv III, or IV? Mine was a IV and four speed. Rob

    Circus in town:

I prolly wouldn't be able to fit in there myself. Rob
  13. Thanks Glenn and I certainly agree with you. I have replaced all the rubbing supply lines on this truck chasing this problem for months and it's getting old. The middle of last week I hooked up to my drop deck with a couple thousand pounds on it and pulled it around my shop property. The truck did not miss a beat and pulled well. With the exception of being really soft ground not allowing a good shifting scenario all went well. After about a 1/2 hour or this, I parked on level ground to drop the trailer. While pulling the gladhands, the damned truck stalls and dies. This after several full throttle acceleration runs!! Talk about frustrating. I have plenty of fitting and #6 hose so I'll grab a gauge later today and get it plumbed in. I have a brand new pump, (not rebuilt) on my shelf calibrated for the ENDT866B setting +20% uprate but don't want to use it till I know this engine is sound. To be clear you want me to "Tee" into the discharge of the transfer pump before the inlet to the secondary fuel filter, with the gauge, and use a clear plastic tube on the suction side of the transfer pump? Rob
  14. I first seen that one when it was quite new on there. I don't know what it is about those old V8's but they are definately one that hits home with me. I've not been able to find one of a loaded two valve V8 working yet so may make my own to post later this spring.Rob
  15. HI Grant, most guys can learn under classroom environment, but you have to move across the world to learn the proper side of the road to drive on???? And then you want to move to the seemingly "traffic collision capitol" of Illinois???? Sometimes I think you "aussies" are as thick as me. I was in Naperville last week and on rt. 59 there was two traffic accidents both involving tractor trailers, and cars. The light at Aurora Rd. had a new Freightliner with a Chevrolet Equinox flipped over, and the next light at 104th street had a Lexus hit by an International. You know how busy traffic is a 8:30am in that area and it took nearly 45 minutes to get past. Be sure to call when you get over here. Rob
  16. The Village People, aw Jesus Christ man, were those idiots real? How bout "Boy George" and Culture Club? or "Tears for Fears", or any of the likes of the open degenerates of the music scene in the early 1980's? Thank god I had Ted Nugent, UFO, Whitesnake (early), Outlaws, Kansas, Scorpions, Van Halen (early), and some of the more contemporary bands of the timeframe to get me through. Rob

    Get em quick:

Man you guys are insinuating that I have a reputation to uphold. I'm just a regular guy you know. Nothing out of the ordinary here, just plain, bland, dull, boring, and the like. Rob

  23. Remember the flaming faggots that went by KC and the Sunshine Band???? Gawd, just the thought of them makes me wanna PUKE!! At that time I was still jammin to Deep Purple's "Made in Japan", Boston's debut album, Rush's "2112", Dire Straits, The Eagles, Kiss "Alive", America, and other decent music like that. Rob
  24. I always like those myself. When in high school I put a rear clip onto a 71 Monte Carlo SS. Only one I'd ever seen with a 454, and Muncie four speed, triple black with steel slotted corporate ralley wheels. Rob
  25. If I attached the scent trak to the photo you would not think it was marble rye. Rob
