  1. Heavy trucks and industrial equipment use "B" sized belts for the most part. Rob
  2. Most likely that and local parades. Everything around here has to run and be usable in one fashion or another. Rob
  3. It is figured into the price if purchasing in a motor vehicle at the filling station. It is damned hard to get a fueling apparatus at a plant in recent years due to people bulking the fuel for forklifts and such, then running their automobiles on it. Rob
  4. I will prolly haul it most places of any distance on the drop deck. I may use it occasionally to keep it clean. All depends..... Rob
  5. An industry average BTU content for a gallon of petroleum based fuel oil, or gasoline is 140,000 BTU. An industry standard for a gallon of LPG, (propane) is 95,000 BTU. You can make the same amount of horsepower and torque from a given engine but the flow rate of the gaseous fuel must be greater due to lower BTU content. The average octane of propane is 110 using the (R/M)/2 method of computation in North America. This is why the gaseous fuel will withstand a higher compression ratio before preignition occurs. Rob
  6. Hi Trent, that truck does have a RTO-12513 transmission. I am not certain which way I will go, (if any) on this truck. It is all original and prolly won't see another 10k miles in the balance of my lifetime. Never have pulled anything with the truck and it will hardly pull itself with the clutch being completely shot. The engine will run away from the driveline bobtailing.Rob
  7. Eventually an eastern R795 will receive this engine. I need to get another R797 home from Colorado for parts before moving forward with the project as far as swapping. Rob
  8. Very informative and thanks. Rob
  9. Who wound up with the hauling job? Rob
  10. Both the 955, and 977 series were very popular for municipal work also with smooth steel "street pads" as they didn't tear up the pavement as bad a grouser tracks did. Not too good in slop however. Rob
  11. My understanding also. Rob
  12. A local house mover and heaving rigging outfit here does just that with a 410B and C John Deere. They are now moving to large frame tracked skid steer loaders as they are much faster. Rob
  13. Now dammit David; It is only Thursday and when randyp gets a look at that photo the ensuing "big ole boner" is gonna encite great difficulty for him to finish the task at, or in hand. He has got to make a living you know and posts like that make it difficult. Rob
  14. Just about the first time they let the wheel return to center after completing a turn. Some of these fresh trucking school graduates might take a couple times however...... Rob
  15. "Air Eaters" is what we always called them due to being the least restrictive dry air cleaners at the time. Rob
  16. I was an "AJAX" boy myself...... Rob
  17. Thanks David. Do save that for me as I can make use of it with my 18' rolling gantry.
  18. Hi Glenn, see if your buddy can get a photo of his carriers to ensure mine are the same mounting as his. I have a couple sets of known good 4.17's as I've driven both trucks. Rob
  19. I'm not familiar with the rotary pump you have. The inline pumps are keyed to a gear and pull straight back and out after the three bolts are removed from the adapater housing to the engine front cover. There is also a brace on the bottom supporting the pump at the rear. Have you removed that also? Rob
  20. It's been a couple of years since I've had that truck off the property but I'm certain I upshifted in the low range through three, or four gears while still in low, then switch to high with the compound, and grabbed either first or second with the main. Again the gear spread was close but not linear at all and hard to get the hang. I don't know what the ration is with the compound in low, and the main in third, or fourth. Rob
  21. It should all be one unit.Rob
  22. Great story. It really is a good feeling when something just "feels right". Good luck with it. Nice looking little truck. Rob
  23. Can you post a photo of that beam. I would like to see what it would take to modify for use. It will be dedicated for cab lifting with "endless" straps and welded hooks would work. If you had a belt fed medium caliber weapon, (and the inherent happiness it would bring) you could just "mow" you a path to shoot across and call it "no man's land". Rob
  24. Take the case apart, they will have cooling fins stamped, or moulded into them and usually are bolted/screwed to a piece of aluminum. Rob
  25. If you can hear anything from the speakers chances are you have a blown power supply to the amplifyers in the chassis. Hardly worth working with these days as they are considered a "throw away" item due to VLSI and complexity. Open the unit up, there may be a fuse blown. Rob
