  3. It really would't be that difficult with a bead roller and a set of dies. Being so low of production quantity however would make the cost substantial due to piece count. The EPDM rubber is already being reproduced so a large portion of the tooling is already in place. It would be up to individual vendors to work together to supply an end product acceptable in price for all to make a bit of profit from the venture. If you could only sell say 100 per year, the cost cannot be dropped as far as say a 1000 copies were vendored in the same time period. Rob
  4. Am I A, or THE, "spoiled, or rotten" one of the bunch????? Inquiring minds want to know. Rob
  5. Probably young and still impressionable. Don't want to scare, or run him off, but as most in the real world know, college is not reality on all fronts. I ain't had a day of college in my life that mattered, (I did take a semester of welding many years ago) and I've done alright through the year without regret(s). Rob
  6. And he could be right. I don't value myself on the quality, or quantity of my mind. Your professor made a lot of money off you via tuition. How's that working out for you? Rob

  9. I wish you would not take that stance but won't impede your progress however you wish. All have valued input from both personal experience, and bravery behind the keyboard at times. Some of this is positive, some negative and not everybody is happy constantly. Take from this what you will but you, as well as anyone else are welcome to participate, or depart at your leisure and choosing. I have put my personal "spin" into the building of this website to fit all forms and functions as this is the way we live our lives. Adaption and overcomming is a large part of this. Because I do not like him personally, I don't tell the minister to go "Fuck Himself" at church, even though he has been caught with his hand both in the till, and choir leader's pants, because it isn't the right thing to do. Likewise, I won't ban or flag a participant due to not liking their posts as my basic rules are reletively simple in nature: Don't use this website to attack, or discredit another individual participant, or sponsor that helps bring us together in this fellowship, or I will act within my capacity. In the past you have offered many subjects of knowlege found useful to many. I don't want to see that lost so would like for you to reconsider departing. It's alright to let off the steam at times, but to take your knowlege base away is unfair to many more than just yourself. Rob
  10. It's a given so naturally not included. Something like: "Needs a generous amount of TLC's" would work as we all know a sledgehammer is to be used lightly, (hence the subscript). Rob
  11. I pulled the title out of the file, the truck is a 75 model year. Rob
  12. I had a cousin, (in law) that worked at Scheid for a while. Very nice people and into hot rodding diesel engines. I purchased a couple of turbocharger kits from them for the natural 7.3 ltr engines in Ford pickup trucks, then had them go through the injection pumps and "tweak" them a little bit. My cousin now works for the International delership but when he left Scheid to go to work at the Peterbilt dealership, we had some very interesting conversations....... Rob
  13. You forgot the sledgehammer in that list of needed tools.Rob
  14. Don't look like nuthin a little gorilla tape, and a waterbed patch kit cain't fix good enough. There is not enough detail in the photo to get you a good start on a feasible repair. Need about six to eight inches each direction from the obvious damage from front and rear views. Rob
  15. See, she don't know as much as she thinks she does; (and don't you dare tell her I said that). Same thing I've done in the past. You need a blue one for the other side. Rob
  16. Thanks Glenn, I'll be nice to get a rundown on it. I've been told the engine has been "inframed" at one time but not much more. Rob
  17. I've never seen them as OEM supplied. I did talk to a guy and he had his originals chromed. I don't know if they are available aftermarket as Mack does not appear to be supported very well. Rob
  18. I measured three of my B models this afternoon. The drive pinion for the front rear is about 3/4" to the left side of the truck on all three. Both inner front drive axle rims measure right at equal distance from the frame on all three trucks. Two of my trucks are spokes, one is Budd and the offsets are different on each truck but the spacing remains equal side to side. The crossmembers are set at 65" apart on one, and 52" on another that I measured. To look at the driveline there is not enough of an offset to see it without looking specifically for it. The uncalibrated eye would not know there is any angularity from side to side. Rob
  19. I'll certainly get a look. I didn't know how to identify a Cummins without the plat or sticker.Rob
  20. I can't answer first hand but from the description is does both of what you mention. I'll see it this weekend. Rob
  21. There are magnets in the side, and bottom of the transmission; these should be checked for "chunks". Also I would pull the side magnet in the front drive axle as you could have a cam and peanut issue developing. Rob
  22. Brian, go ahead and forward the photos to me also. Paul has first "dibs" however. www.robsautoaffair@gmail.com Rob
  23. Strange to see one of Steve's trucks being sold by someone else. Rob
  24. Thanks Glenn, I remember your advice from another problem with the clear tubing for another gent. I'll be down there next weekend and will get some time with it. I've driven the truck and it ran really well at the time. I understand it still runs well, just down on power from it's usual self. Hi is going to pull the wet kit later this week to install onto the new truck and then it will be ready to pickup but can stay where it is also but probably outside.Rob
  25. I'm 20 miles west of Peoria between Canton and Farmington on rt. 78. This truck doesn't want to start if it is in the mid 60's. It is physically outside of Pana and kept inside. It's replacement is a day cab CH and appears to be a really nice truck. I can run down with a drop deck in the future but our family reunion, (around Effingham) is in the late summer and I may drive it home then. Rob
