  1. I'll second that one. Rob
  2. Depends where the kids are. Plastic doesn't make that "rustling" sound and is very pliable.Rob
  3. The lady I was up against this morning was fortunate I was in a good mood cause I would have started the conversation with "Listen you dumb fucking cunt" and ended up with something like I'll shove your tampon down your throat and pull it out your ear along with what little brain matter you think you have. Now git your whoring ass off my property. But as I said, I was in a good mood so I let her off easy. Rob
  4. Paper or Plastic????? Rob
  5. My wife was against doing one up in Stars & Bars till I had shown her a photo of it being a factory applied scheme. She is now on board so at least one in the shed will sport the patriotic scheme. Rob
  6. Thanks for posting the positive experience. Many more need to do this when the experience is either positive or negative which can save a headache for someone else. Rob
  7. That is for certain. I can't believe I didn't purchase the whole pallet full Tidewater Mack had when they were selling them at $99.00 apiece in 1987! Rob
  8. Hard to compare "cunt" with "silk igloo" even though both sayings refer to the same thing. Rob
  9. Looks like boobage to me too but in a different way. Sorta like a mamogram slice. Rob

    "Crusty's" Back!

Rangers are terrible about rusting the front shock/spring perch off. The alignment suffers first until things come discombobulated and truck no longer drives. Sadly I've towed a couple of fatalities in due to this. Rob
  11. This morning I took both of my additional empty fuel barrels, both salamander, (torpedo) heaters, my skid steer, and four five gallon diesel fuel cans to the bulk plant to fill everything up anticipating rising fuel costs. Upon pulling out onto the street a lady in an obvious hurry in a new Nissan Altima car runs right up to the ass end of the trailer and sits there about 10 feet back for the 1.3 mile "jaunt" down the hiway back to the shop. To my surprise she pulls in behind me at the shop. After I park at the overhead door this lady jumps out and starts to railing on me about oil all over her car. I looked at it and sure enough it was covered in diesel fuel. I had forgotten to replace a fuel cap on one of the heaters and the bouncing of the trailer spashed fuel out of it, and the slipstream deposited it on her car as she was so close. Had she been kind, yet concerned about and for my neglect, she would have received a full detail from my courteous and normal cheerful self with full compliments. However, after about 30 seconds this cunt was really getting on my nerves so I told her if she didn't get her piece of shit off my property in very short order I was going to back the skid steer over the front of her car not knowing it was there, (she parked right on the trailer's ass). I must have had enough tone in my voice she took me at my word and after calling me an asshole, tore out of there throwing rocks all over her front fenders from my parking lot but not before backing into one of the trees at driveway edge caving in the rt. 1/4 panel, destroying the tail lamp, and rear bumper cover. Didn't leave me with too much thought of her caring for the automobile. Rob
  12. The link did not post for some reason. Try this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CULLIGAN-WATERBED-PATCH-KIT-VINYL-PLASTIC-REPAIR-NEW-IN-BOX?item=360437753645&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D5%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D6744240616154301299

Rob
  14. That looks like a business venture unable to deliver profitablity as envisioned. Rob
  15. I've had several uncles that have hauled cars from the late 1940's till near present day. They have all had good, and bad times with it. Damage is the greatest concern as Joe mentioned but if you are not in a break neck hurry all the time things will go well. Are you looking to haul new, used, high end, low end, wrecked, salvage? I made a lot of money hauling strictly salvage out of the Chicago Pool in years past. I think the endeavor is prudent and wish you well. Hopefully you will have more time to participate with us here on the board. Everybody's projects are always of interest. Rob
  16. If the law of average applies I'd say no as this is the third or forth time I've seen them on ebay over the last couple of years. Rob
  17. I've never seen a mechanical beam trailer but Daily has several that are air powered. Kinda difficult to use unless a big open area without a large forklift available. Most of the stuff I've seen loaded on beam type trailers is blocked up and not mobile so it takes some interaction to drag, or push the trailer minus the neck under the tractor. They set the beams on custom built skid shoes, then push the trailer under the tractor. It could also be dragged under a trailer if the truck had a winch but seems like it would require expert alignment before pulling. If something did get crooked in the pull, it would take some additional side pulls to straighten it out for centering the load. For as open as they are they are still very heavy and you can see that by the construction. Rob
  18. The RL797L we are planning to pick up is in Minden. We will be traveling th I-80 corridor. I've never been out that way so it willbe an adventure for all! Rob
  19. Believe it or not I've always found the R models seating position quite comfortable for me. It is the cab noise that makes me feel like "Momma" has been singing at me for several hours. Picture a kid learning to play cymbles for several hours and you'll know what I mean.Rob
  20. Had to get out of Chicago before I too was corrupted.Rob
  21. I still have two RS700 series tractors plus the RL797L in NV to come home. "Momma" is certain to ensure I'm crowned king when she finds out. Good thing the kids are already educated and I'm not still funding that.Rob
  22. \They ain't too bad with a 16" steering wheel that just clears my gut, (barely) but it does make the steering a bit "jerky" when hitting a bump from kickback. Rob
  23. Now WHY did you have to go and mention that????? I got no more room to house anything and the 700's need hidden from me. I'm having withdrawl symptoms as I type...... I'll ascertain whether I just have to have it or not when up there Monday. I prefer paint as opposed to vinyl for the older stuff. I may go with vinyl stars over basecoat paint and clear over everything, or have stencils cut of stars and do all in paint. Rob
  24. They were distinctive and left no doubt as to who, or what they were.Rob
  25. They have changed the wording on their adds. That does look very much like the early cab corner. The +3 style has a character line pressed into it where this one does not. Rob
