  1. I've seen the +3 style offered myself but never the early ones. I'll have to look. That is quite a bit more than the supplier I've used in the past. Rob
  2. I'm still puttin serious consideration to painting on of mine up like that although it will be a little newer truck than the originals are. Rob
  3. I never think of them cause I always do. Like the morning business, it's second nature. Rob
  4. Yes please do scan it. I remember a lot of the "Stars & Bars" paint schemes on R600's when new but had never seen a 700, or a Western. Rob
  5. Same thing. Rob
  6. They are not difficult to make by hand with a bench vice, a piece of two inch round stock, and durable marker, hammer, dolly block, and patience, lots of patience. Oh yeah, wear gloves. Rob
  7. They are terrible on a CJ series Jeep also. Slick as snot on the doorknob with just a drizzle outside. Rob
  8. I actually admire the absolute brute strength this chassis offers. It is one SON OF A BITCH to pull back into shape when wrenched up however. A lot of times just easier to either section, or rerail a side. Rob
  9. They look as if they have taken a beating too. Rob
  10. That wasn't the camera angle. You got to real careful driving one of those lopsided things as they like to roll over on the left. They round the trucks so they incurr less damage from this strange phenomena. Rob
  11. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Obama-Condom-Head-Button-best-way-use-one-3-5-inch-Vote-Republican-/250995505761?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a707f7a61 Rob
  12. That is where the "Happiness is a belt fed weapon" comes into play. Rob
  13. It was posted over there about 10 years ago when I was active. Been about nine years since I've participated routinely. Rob
  14. I think a fat man, (like me) was driving, took a right turn too fast and the lopsided thing rolled over, disconnected, then the trailer which was now proceeding on it's own path, ran over it. Yeah, yeah, sounds plausibile. That's the ticket! Rob
  15. This is not a forgotten deal but I've still not located this third tire. Got a couple more places to look. Rob
  16. Alternators with vibrating and mechanical voltage regulation were very stable also, as were generators. The problem with early alternators was they could be short lived with the constant vibration of a diesel engine. It took a few years for these inherent problems to be engineered out. Ever wonder why a 100 ampere alternator for a large truck is so much larger than it's 100 ampere rated automobile counterpart? 100 amps is 100 amps correct? It is a duty cycle thing. There is more surface area and commutation rating, (if brush type) to dissapate heat to sustain life. If you pull 100 amperes constant out of a 10SI series Delcotron, (for example) it would prolly be hard pressed to last a 24 hour run at that rating. A 100 amper 25SI Delcotron, (again for example) would still be putting that same amount of power out a month, and possibly years later. Rob
  17. I dropped four nice and clean ones at the blast yesterday to get them clean. They measure serviceable after turning but I'm going to paint them up pretty, (maybe pink for olive), LOL but the numbers should be easy to see then. Would Watt's be willing to stock a few? Rob
  18. I am looking for a spreader beam with about a ton capacity, and no more than six feet in length. I do need a low headroom type beam to run nylon lifting straps through perimeter cab door openings and attach to the beam. I have some 2" aluminum "H" beam and may weld something up to fit my needs, but my tig machine is out of commision right now. Rob
  19. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bondage-Neck-Wrist-Spreader-Bar-Restraint-Cuffs-Leather-/200595387429?pt=Adult_Fancy_Dress_UK&hash=item2eb46ab425 I'm looking for, and needing a lifting beam, or spreader bar for an overhead crane. Rob
  20. I'm pretty sure that alternators were optional earlier, but I've seen mid 1970's trucks with generators still installed. Not for certain when alternators became the only OEM installed charging system. Rob
  21. I'm putting thought to doing just that. Tired of this state and it's "head up the ass" mentality. Rob
  22. Yes, it does as original equipment. I think it was about 1970, 1971 timeframe when alternators started to replace generators on heavy trucks for the most part. Rob
  23. Quite possible I was looking for multi purpose clips, or convertibles, or something of that nature. Don't feel alone. "Momma" thinks I do some strange things also. Rob
  24. Sorry about raining on the parade with the new truck. Sure is a nice looking unit. Rob
  25. If they used one of the new style stud patches where the rubber stud of the patch protrudes up through the punctured tread, and the main patch still glues to the inside of the tire carcass, don't waste your valuable time worrying about it. They are quite permenant and really do not give problems. If it was a "Tech", or "Bowes", you are without a doubt safe. Rob
