  1. This is absolutely true in my past experiences also. Many folks who participate there, but not here, I converse with regularly. It's all about old trucks and our hobby with me, but there is a "clique" over there I do not fit into well for some reason. I too never felt "welcome". There are some out there really into these old trucks that do not participate here as they feel the board is too much like a social network only. I agree with that but am very respective of their thoughts and values. It just doesn't fit everybody. Rob
  2. I need to get new batteries for the camera today to supply photos but the bushings in this thing are absolutely shot where the swinging arms mount to the frame mount. I don't think they are metal to metal contact yet but are very badly worn out. I'm not going to do anything with it for the time being as I honor a promise to myself to not take anything else apart until something is back together....... I looked all over and did not see any identifying marks, or numbers but have not pressure washed anything yet. I'll have to get me another "skinny guy" around here as I do like to keep things greased and adjusted. I'd never be able to do it myself. Loosing it? I'm afraid you got a ways to catch up to me on that one Steve. Thanks guys, Rob
  3. How do you identify which suspension you have? This one is air ride, and out of a 82 Cruiseliner. Thanks, Rob
  4. Rebuild the shift cylinders on the transmission top cover as they are leaking internally when cold. I would also rebuild the "selectair" valve, (shifter handle) while at it. Your problem is common as those transmissions age.l This is an easy repair but do consult a service manual before breaking things apart. Rob
  5. Ya know, "Momma" used to be a little "light in the behind" but not no more. She has a humungus couterweight now. Rob
  6. Not quite that advanced yet. I'm still working on removing the birthday thing....... Rob
  7. Prolly why everbody here disects, exploits, makes fun of my weaknesses, and picks on me all the time Rob.
  8. Back when we were both active participants on that website you never personally attacked, or decried anyone I remember. The "semi autonomous" ruling party certainly pulled that on you however numerous times. Can't say I always agreed with your opinions and wouldn't want you to say you agreed with all of mine if untrue, but open censorship is, and was actively pursued there so I wanted no part of it. I would openly admit the current administration of the organization needs to be ousted with a new leadership bent on serving the membership instated. Like diseased tissue from the body, if not removed and left in place, problems return no matter how dormant. This is what happened over there a few years ago and I've not been back pulling both my participation, and financial support for a hobby I am dearly respectful and sentimental of/for. Rob
  9. Glad to hear she is still active. Nice gal she was. Her departure from ATHS was a result of problems coming to light now over there. Rob
  10. I'll bet randyp could sure tear sumpin up with one of those a lot quicker than what he has now. Rob
  11. I've been listed since the inception as have many others. I would like everybody to update their profiles to current status so we can plan "visits" when in the area(s) for example. Rob

    Those Italians:

Airport sweepers are still referred to as a "Zamboni". Rob
  13. To this day Ohare's callout name is "ORD". I hate working on that field but it's a great bunch of guys to be around. Rob
  14. Particularly let me know if it is "Helle" sawmill equipment. That stuff is very heavy, large, and built right here in the inbred siblings capitol of the world, Farmington, Illinois. Rob
  15. I remember the Ohare expansion deal forcing several businesses to move out of the area. Most were pretty heavily compensated for the ground too. I also remember a large trucking outfit being in that mix, but didn't know the name. Certainly a small world we live in sometimes. Who would have thought a private airstrip named "Apple Orchard Field", located out in the "sticks", would grow into something today referred to as "Chicago Ohare International Airport". Rob
  16. What brand, and color of sawmill equipment is predominant there? Rob
  17. He is an ass. Her's is prolly larger however. Rob
  18. How is Shirley doing these days? Her departure was the berginning of mine. I was too new with involvement to know the underlying problems existing at that time. They seemed to have festered further as time progressed. Rob
  19. Appears too damned close to call. Rob
  20. Let me say this: After several attempts, I've not participated in that organization for several years due to the structure of the leadership in place. Until it is changed, I won't change. Rob
  21. You didn't test it to ensure cryogenically treated piss is safe for human consumption did you? Rob
  22. I was on 231. Went all the way to Lafayetter and picked up 26. Rob
  23. I was just through Lafayette, IN yesterday morning. Wish this would have been posted before then as I had some time to stop. Rob
