  1. If you don't mind I drink sweetened tea, or water, I'll have a drink with you! Rob
  2. I seen them both as "crooks" in the beginning. I didn't vote for them either. Look at the pride both have instilled in the "Land of Lincoln". Rob
  3. Save it for me AL. I'll be up the first week of March in Rockford for a training class and will bring it home with me. Coors you say? I don't drink so may have you pick it out. Rob
  4. "NOS" means New Old Stock. Meaning brand new parts never installed. Rob
  5. Yup, we grow them well and consistent around here....... Rob

  7. You forgot the spring. Speaking of gorilla; she is carrying a bag of three. Randyp is gonna be broke when it comes time for college educations. Rob
  8. Thanks a bunch, I check with the Mack dealer I typically use today. Really didn't think of going that way.Rob
  9. Prolly be a good truck for a few parties on here but that concave cab is a little "cozy".Rob
  10. I pulling this stuff off of my 74 RL797L to put hydraulic power steering on. The torque valve works great and does not leak, but the air cylinder is shot and needs a kit. They are bout a hundred bucks to rebuild the last I checked. It was working but I left the air shut off as it would drain the air quick and offer very little assist due to leakage. The link measures about 17 and one eighth long as removed from my truck. I don't think the ends are shot as the truck would run 75 plus with no shake or vibration. If anybody is interested in this stuff for trading send me a PM. It is not for sale at this point but I'll not use it on anything else. A couple of my B models have this power assist steering and I'll remove it also in the future. Rob
  11. Anybody know where I could get a couple of these things? I can't locate them around here. These are the boots that cover the pitman are ball and socket of the steering drag link. They keep dirt and water out, and the grease in. Thanks, Rob
  12. Pull it off the engine and send it into a pump shop. I don't think the barrels are "out of sync" with each other as they are a mechanical connection but anything is possible. Rob
  13. I would have had to "play" with her as in let her know you didn't know what you were gonna do with the truck in two pieces like that. Rob
  14. Last month I had a new copper and brass five row radiator built for my R795 and it was right at $1400.00. This used the bolt on tanks top and bottom. All of the engines in that timeframe were good in my opinion. The "300", and the 300+ engines were just getting to the point of being a very good balance of power and durability. Much more power and the lifespans were shortened, especially with a hired driver. Rob

    Dammit:

Thanks David, I really hate to see another good, American company go down, especially one that made such high quality precision tooling. I have a couple injectors really stuck in my 300+ in the winch truck. Don't want to pull them in half and they are soaking now. Didn't get a chance to work with it tonight and will try again tomorrow. Tank goes out tomorrow, I boxed it today. Rob

  17. I just hope it don't come from New Zealand sheep!! Rob
  18. 27"? Hell when "Momma" sits down she is wider than a yard stick is long so don't think she would fit; and she is smaller than me. Rob
  19. If maintained they actually shut pretty tight but are terrible at leaking. Rob

Well, this is a real "bummer". I called "Shel's" tools and supply to purchase an injector puller for Mack engines. They are no longer in business. They made some of the finest specialized tools available and I'll certainly miss them. Rob
  21. How in the world did they keep water intrusion out of those jalousie windows moving horizontally through the rain? Rob
  22. I'd put antique or collector plates on it and it's just another car. If you need to store it you can get it up here which is about 175 miles from Bevo Mill. Rob
  23. That's right Barry and Tim are both having their special day at the same time. Happy B'day guys! Rob
  24. I know what you mean Glenn. We only have a Carquest here in town and they started carrying Haldex parts for me recently. I make fun of the owner's son, (known him for years) about his "hoops" being for basketball, and ear rings being for girls. He's a good kid and his dad has been in the auto parts business for over 30 years. They try to run it like the "old days" and manage the best they can, but being private owned, cannot carry the inventory of the past. Usually overnight at no charge so we do the best we can. Rob
  25. Hi Mike, yes for a "Western". These trucks are going to become operational pretty quick as I'm getting tired of them occupying shop space. I want to show two this next year. Thanks, Rob
