  2. Yessir that is true. Hell the state of Illinois "upped" my unemployment compensation percentage I'd pay for an employee .6% for calandar year 2012 from 2011. Now this doesn't affect me none because I no longer am an employer, but the politicians just don't see the problem being blinded by their own programs they are fighting to pay for. They don't understand the phylosophy of "living within one's own means". This bullshit has to stop. Rob
  3. I must have thick skin. I see humor, (dark and light) as humor, and nothing else. Fortunate, or unfortunate, most good humor is at someone's, or something's expense. No harm there. I don't read in any posts on this site where anyone condones illicit drug usage, and/or operation of a motor vehicle or equipment under it's influence. The same goes for alcohol consumption in excess. I made a LOT of money in the 1980's through the mid 2000's because of people's indescretions in these areas including some very nasty fatalities. If I'm not happy with something or don't approve, I don't participate in it. Personally I don't drink anything but water and milk nor take any legal or illegal medications other than aspirin for a headache. Now rolling a 20 dollar bill tightly to snort a line chopped fine with a single edge razor blade on a mirror to get the motor runnin; naw, never done that neither as I never had the desire. I'd like to see persons who take offense to posts made in the auspice of humor to be more tolerant and less critical. If this is not possible then please don't participate. As a moderator I welcome both sides of any argument but unlike another antique truck related website, this one will not be censored because I don't like a post. Myself, I would rather go through my time on this earth finding humor and laughing at my surroundings, than looking for fault in them to be miserable and complain about. If I die tomorrow, I have no regrets. I've done better for my family and others than I ever had growing up. A lot of comfort is taken from that. Rob
  4. That is great to hear. I've never been around truck production but watched Caterpillar build hundreds of engines per day and wondered at times how they can all have a place to go. Rob
  5. Can't answer about woodchucks as there are too many pieces to count when I'm through with them but 910 trucks is a lot for eight days. That number must be out of the ordinary as there would be a "glut" of trucks if normal production ran at that rate? Rob
  6. 1987 was the hundreth anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. There was a widely circulated airborne photo of a Navy E2C "Hawkeye" aircraft photographed with the scaffolding surrounding "Lady Liberty" during that timeframe. That plane myself, and four other painters I selected, painted that aircraft top to bottom for this photo shoot. Rob
  7. More to follow. Rob

    The Lemon Lady:

I'll bet if she gets that "sugar sand" into her panties, a whole different female disposition will come forth. Rob
  10. Put a fuel pump module in it. About 80 percent of the time if you just replace the pump itself, the fuel gauge will be short lived as the variable resistor that drives the gauge is a piece of shit. You have a burned spot on the commutator of the actual fuel pump motor and this is quite common among all vehicles using an in tank electric pump. Rob
  11. Damn!! You got the same set of super expensive work stands I do!! Split you some 1/2" heater hose and glue it over the top edge of the barrels. It will conserve blood from smashed fingers. Rob
  12. We still have several RXLD, JXL, LDT-465, Hercules, Continental, and some others in service and parts are getting difficult to acquire but we seem to get by. Worth a shot no matter how it turns out. I sent the numbers and a short letter so hope this will do you some good. Rob
  13. Oh shit, I thought you were the one that fell for that and paid with Western Union......... I'm running your numbers by a friend in OKC that supports several of the old gensets yet remaining in the FAA to find a vendor for you as we used to have several small Waukesha powered sets. Hopefully his resources will do you some good here in the good ole USA!! Rob
  14. Lot of folks these days don't even know the old ones used a filter on the intake. Rob
  15. Sure is nice to not see "non US residents" running that press brake. Rob
  16. I give. What did I do this time????? Rob
  17. The reason I have a government job. I lied when telling them a land mine blew my balls off. If they only knew...... Rob
  18. It'd be negative numbers for me. Rob

  20. Been working on getting an original window frame back into one of my B61's as you already know. Whilst we made a lot of fitments and adjustments my helper didn't quite follow the standard proceedure to installing/welding in the framework I had wanted. Although close and well within 1/8th inch of being perfect, the body character lines on the sheet metal don't quite align as the support braces are just a bit long holding the frame just a tad high in the opening. No real problem to repair except normal procedure is to fit and clamp most everything into place before welding, eliminating guesswork. This vital step was "glossed over" as to importance while I was painting the side of a customer's car. I figured he needed encourgement to do right and ensure such doesn't happen again, so I grabbed the finest learning tool in the shop: Sometime over the weekend I'll take a slice disc and cut the cab back braces shortening the required amount before welding them in solid. No harm, no foul. He does a good job in the shop. Rob
  21. The caps I'm going to use are not those cheap pieces of shit with the punched holes plastic strap for adjustment. I've been looking at some that really are good quality but they can be about $30.00 each by the time they are done. Here are a few of my seats and door cards I made myself with the exception of the embroidery work. I'm no seamstress and basically just wanted to see if I could do it because I had no way to emboss the dogs back into the material. Rob
  22. Has an "a" on the end don't it??? Rob
  23. I've never liked cigars. The "other" ehhh, it's all good. Rob
  24. Me and my mouth again; I could prolly be vice president......... Rob
  25. Most of the B models used a Bendix-Westinghouse Tu-Flo 500. Specs are available on Bendix website. You'll have no problem if you can bore and get pistons. The bores on those are less than two inches if I remember correctly. Seems like I still have some left over "Hastings" rings for those from years back. Rob
