  1. Those are the piston type chambers, size 20 cubic inch. You should be able to heat those and bend them back, then install type 24/24 type chambers directly in their place. Rob
  2. Yes, the Superbird, the Daytona Charger, the Ford Talledaga were all banned to keep track speeds from exceeding 200mph. Rob
  3. Seems like with a contraption like that, you could kneel down, stick your tongue out, and with your girl in the seat, bounce the "swing with a spring" saving on neck strain. Just a guess. Rob
  4. Last time I repaired her, (I assume it's a her) "she" was getting a little rough around the edges. Never noticed the hindquarters getting thin from wear, but can't say I looked really close neither. I figger use of one of these swings would help alleviate warranty claims and loneliness during repair duration..,..... Rob
  5. Nylon sling material. Other Dog never brought my doll back. Something about "gorilla tape" residue? Rob
  6. Maybe somebody could use this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Whip-Smart-Padded-Nylon-Pleasure-Swing-SPRING-/180787986428?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a17cdbffc Rob
  7. I wager my "Momma" would explode a scale that light. Rob
  8. Real enough to hear bones cracking? Rob
  9. Must be why NASCAR kept changing the rules penalizing Chrysler; remember the 426 Hemi engine, winged cars, extended front air foils, restrictor plates, etc? All subject to rules altering to kill advantages gained through proper engineering and testing. That all started against Chrysler engineering to level the playing field allowing the others to "keep up". None of this is bias or fallicy. It is true. Rob
  10. Roto chambers, or piston type? Why were you needing rear brake spiders? Maybe you said and I just don't remember......... Rob
  11. I know I always was without question. Real trucks have a bulldog on the hood. Rob
  12. Every Dodge I've ever had has served me beyond reasonable expectation. I've had six I remember that were my personal trucks since the 70's. Rob
  13. And after you finish that task we could commence bombing the perimeter for a buffer zone. Rob
  14. Well, the Christmas holidays have past, and like many of you like I, attended festivities where alcohol was served. As you well know, a few of us are known to have had a brush or two with the authorities after departing these social events. A few nights ago, I was out for some drinks with friends and had the misfortune to be "overserved". Knowing full well that I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before. I took a bus home. I arrived back safely and without incident, which was a real surprise to me since I had never driven a bus before and am completely clueless as to where I got this one. Best wishes for 2012! Rob
  15. I got to throw some more "stupid money" at it before I get tired. Nothing out of the ordinary there and then pushed out to the back......... What rear suspension is in your truck? Rob
  16. Glad to hear you are staying somewhat busy. Shame about the work ethic. Seems like yesterday going through that tunnel. Rob
  17. Any of the "old" crew still there? My grandpa bought several new trucks there through the early 70's. I have a photo of my grandma sitting on the fender of one of his new "EH", or "EQ" series trucks in the shop when it was new. She is holding a bulldog that belonged to one of the guys there at the time. Rob
  18. This damned B model project is starting to get expensive. Today I picked up my first load of new parts which is kinda small but consisted of a new pair of "Gunite" brake drums, a PP7 valve, PP1 valve, (both Haldex), a ride height valve, (Euclid), two quick release valves, (Haldex), and two new air bags, (Continental). Ordered but not paid for are four new "U" bolts, suspension bushing rebuild kits for the spring eye(s), and leaf spring center bolts. The bushings were so worn out I can't begin to adjust for driveline angle because everything would shift taking up slop any time a jack was placed under anything. Nothing has come apart easy on this thing neither. Everything that has to come loose has taken a lot of heating with a torch. I cut the "U" bolts as there was no way they were coming out of the axle housing seats without destroying something. I still need to get hold of some nylon insulators for between the spring leaves, and caster shims to adjust the pinion angle. Might be worth getting Glenn up here to help cause I'd certainly appreciate some of his expert advise. Rob
  19. My lack of riding is more of a time managment thing. Maintaining equipment that is in excess of 60 years old is becoming more of a chore each year. This set is scheduled for replacement/upgrade in May of 2013 if I can only hold out that long. We are to the point where field spares are just plain worn out and unable to hold tolerance any longer. It is to the point I like to see parts arrive that have been sitting on a shelf for 20 plus years as opposed to it's modern day replacement/equivilent.......... One of the radars has been out of service for over nine weeks; DEAD, I'm talking. I finally returned it about an hour ago. There are just not many parts available any longer. Rob
  20. I gotta start to riding mine too. Haven't put a thousand miles on it since loading at your place!Rob
  21. With a bulletproof truck like a Mack you elevated the standards. Purchase a Harley and she'd never see you as it would always need work. Can't says I blame her. Rob

    END 673 Engines

There are variances in the head gaskets, and which gaskets/seals are applicable to your oil filter setup. Seems like a few other options like oil cooler, (or not), thermostat, (or not), rear seal carrier, (or not), but a lot of the gasket sets included much more to cover the bases, (for the most part). Rob
  23. I'll bet if a guy were to re rail that truck it would be a good one. They were rugged for certain but rust is a killer for anything. Rob
  24. Where are they located now? Still downtown? Still have the "E" model stake bed out front? Ask if they still have the B model books, Thanks, Rob
  25. My wife and I were sitting at a table at her high school reunion, and she kept staring at a drunken man swigging his drink as he sat alone at a nearby table. I asked her, "Do you know him?" "Yes", she sighed, "He's my old boyfriend. I understand he took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear he hasn't been sober since. " "My God!" I said, "Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?" And then the fight started... Rob
