  1. I remember the show but not the content. Rob
  2. Obama's on his way out so it has to be better. Rob
  3. New to me. I was gonna purchase a new one from a guy on ebay, said it was from a fire truck that was never used at the station he worked at. Buyer beware sometimes I suppose. I've never seen one in person myself. Rob
  4. That B model used to be red and black belonging to Dennis Campbell in Ohio. He used to be here in the early days under D2Denny. Overnight purchased it and repainted it. When it was owned by Dennis, it was in the Mack, "The first 100 years" book. Rob
  5. Not if you blast it free and "sweeten" the shores with borax and sugar mix. Cockroaches are attracted to it, once. Rob
  6. Fire truck. I think the CF series had them in later years. Rob
  7. Tulips on the organ cost a lot less. Rob
  8. Think I'm gonna need to modulate my ass on up that way to get my new truck with the vibration. Rob
  9. With an avatar like that, you best be careful round these parts....... Rob
  10. We can say "Whore". We just cannot aim the term at a fellow participant. If you want to refer to a truck as a "Whore" for instance, go ahead. I don't have a problem with that. Rob
  11. Well now, I'm offended. I used to have a "post whore" award in the old system but no longer do. Unfortunately, once branded with the term, it's hard to be rid of it. Rob
  12. Lift the engine with an overhead crane, remove the crossmember from the truck underneath, slide engine free of the clutch assembly and housing and lift it clear. I'm assuming you have the radiator and grille shroud removed already. Rob
  13. Yeah but there ain't no finer pastries and such made with anything less than a hardwood rolling pin. If you do good that piece of kitchen equipment will pay you handsome rewards in the future. If you screw up. it will beat lumps into the side of your skull just as easily, (don't ask how I know). Rob
  14. I'd be changing the town's name. Anything with the name "California" is bound to get fucked up along the line somewhere. Rob
  15. It will be in the blower plenum near the blower motor typically. Rob
  16. Typically, there will be two to four lug caps that pop off and you hold the cap in place with the lug nut, then snap the caps back over the lug nut. Some use a plate that goes under all the lug nuts after the wheel is on the hub, then the center cap snaps onto this plate. Rob
  17. I'm pretty certain you can make an E6 valve work by blocking some unused ports. The E3 series is easy to come by from most vendors. Rob
  18. I had them on two single axle rollback trucks and they worked well. The brand I used was Phoenix. Never had any problems. I've seen several other manufacturers with the simulated lug covers falling out of them. I still have spare set for five hand hole 22.5 steel wheels in the box. Rob
  19. Been years since I've looked at antique truck mags since internet became commonplace. I'm only concerned for women's health and posture because of improper shoes. My radar is still busted but we installed almost 2000# of replacement equipment in the cabinets today. Hopefully I'll get it radiating on Monday when I work next. You'd need to fly pretty low to be under my radar. I can see the ground clutter 200 feet from the base of the antenna. I wouldn't know what a house, car, truck, or real estate payment is. Been so many years since I've had one, I done forgot that stress and worry of how am I going to make the month's obligations. I've not replaced old "Crusty" yet, but there are enough good used late model vehicles available, I don't need to purchase new. It's a real good feeling to not have much debt, and be able to control it, rather than the other way around. Glad it's paid off for you. Rob
  20. Why don't you just purchase a replacement E3, (I think) foot valve? You could upgrade to a later model but I'm not sure of the number. Pull yours out and take it to a good truck parts store. It may be rebuildable, or use for a core. Rob
  21. It all has to start someplace. Be good to see another "old truck" working. Rob
  22. I still do not see where anybody ran that truck down. The question posed was not sarcastic, malicious, geared toward negativity, or any of the like. Although the question could, and maybe should have been worded differently, it was sincere. My thoughts are it was a gathering of information to help a fellow hobbiest along with his repaint/restoration. This subject was mentioned in the beginning of the thread. In my understanding, that is what fellowship is about. I think it is why we come here. This antique truck collecting/showing, etc. is fellowship no matter how it's sliced. I even read an apology in the explanation once another participant expressed displeasure with the posting. I, as a site moderator will not kill a post simply because someone does not like the content. I will however maintain an unbiased stance on posting. That includes welcoming both sides of any "gentlemanly" argument. If the subject goes to attacking someone's personal character, or something they did to someone else whether it was personal experience or not, I will interact up to banning a participant. As an example; should you purchase from another participant, then decide you do not feel treated fairly, it is not a place to express your displeasure about the sale here. This I consider a private matter. I would however have no hesitation to use the feedback forum to leave a negative reputation point that could be followed up upon privately. By all means I urge participants to use the feedback forum; that's what it is for. Rob
  23. Well we all know I have no pride so I think I could be proud to own that. We should prolly go ahead and arrange the freight to my place. LOL. Rob
  24. What Causes The Most Accidents In the USA ??? Now don't be hasty with your answer. Read to the end. Not cell phones........ Not the radio......... Not the GPS monitor...... Not talking............. Not texting.............. Not watching a car video...... Not changing a CD....... Yup, you guessed it. "Innapropriate Footwear" is the leading cause of car accidents in the USA. Interesting statistic I though you should know about. Rob
  25. It looks pretty clean and straight. If the owner is happy with it nobody else's opinion has any bearing. I kinda like it cause it's different. You will be surprised what a $100.00 generic spray gun will do for you. You will also have it for the next job too. A 3hp Sears compressor is marginal to paint a car with but will do the job. I'd go with a five horse unit if you plan to run any air tools, and can stand the expense. Get the amount of paint you will need plus a quart to learn with. Teach yourself to use the gun and familiarize yourself with the knobs and controls. I'ts not that difficult but takes practice. Rob
