  1. Schwinn "Stingray" was a very popular bike in the early 70's. Had a couple myself. They were still made in Chicago then. Rob
  2. I still have both of the kid's bicycles so don't need to purchase one. Get yourself a "gell" seat as you will appreciate it. Also, don't wear silk underpants. "Momma" and me haven't really done any riding since the kids got driver's licenses many years ago now. We still kept the bicycles knowing their kids would someday need them. I still have my boy's bike in the basement from 1983. Rob
  3. Think if you would try an air shift pto you would like it. They are very positive, don't slip out, and as soon as you release the air pressure to them, are spring retracted from engagement. I've had six of them and no problems from a single one. I've had Chelsea, Muncie, and another brand in years past, but I'll never go to another manual unless to old to convert. I know you are about half as thick as me so you'll prolly adapt. Rob
  4. use a five gallon empty paint can with a lid, punch a small hole into the can. Make a wick from 2" masking tape covering the punched hole. Pull the tape back barely exposing the hole, insert a cutting torch tip into the hole and fill with oxygen till pressurized, administer just a touch of acetylene and as you remove the torch tip, cover the hole with the tape. Set this in the yard, light the tape and get the hell away from it. When it blows, windows will shake. I've been doing this with the kids for years. I moved a 10.00X20 truck tire almost five feet with a one gallon paint can so be careful. Rob
  5. Prolly more like he got tired of repairing all the things that aren't right on that truck and realizing the negative profit potential in such an endeavor, is looking to "unload" it on some unsuspecting fool. Don't fall for this shenanigan as I've seen it before. Not everybody knows the detriments and restrictions to actually owning one of those things so it doesn't appear outwardly the proposition is less than honest. Be careful and don't faulter on obtaining one of the finest pieces of man made mechanical machinery on the face of this earth; an R model Mack dump truck. If it were me randyp, I'd purchase the air shift conversion for that PTO and the kit that contains the air shift handle, lines, etc. to connect it together. This would do away with that setup completely. I like the air shift PTO. You would want to install a lever through the floor that would be mechanical in operation to operate the dump portion. I don't like the pull handle at all, whether it is through the floor, or the dash. This is no good for tailgating, or spreading but does work for just pitching the bed up to dump. Rob
  6. Wonder which repair facility this photo was snapped at? And what snapped in either the drive/owner, or the truck to get it there, (on a hook of course). Rob
  7. These work well also. Rob http://www.turboprecleaner.com/
  8. Hope he seriously considers your offer. I think that is a very nice truck for the year. Rob
  9. "Home Brew" air conversion for a mechanical PTO. The through shaft of the PTO is internally threaded on both ends for actuation from either the front, or rear. This is a conversion I've never seen before. Rob
  10. Yup. Rob
  11. An air filter loading with dirt and you want to curtail this? Rob
  12. Don't think I've ever paid that much for one but it has been about six years since I replaced one. What brand did you go with? Rob
  13. The symptoms are indicative of loose crossmembers in a light duty full frame vehicle such as a pickup truck when the frame has been straightened from a "diamond" condition. If the retaining rivets are not replaced with bolts that retain the crossmembers, the vehicle usually suffers from symptoms such as Leslie is experiencing. Given a heavy truck has much stiffer springs and heavier components, this is easy to become violent once conditions are right. Rob
  14. Finally was able to watch the video. Although unclear, I would not be looking at an unbalance condition. I do not see evidence of wheel tramp, or out of round to the tire/wheel assembly. That is somewhat of a linear oscillation to the frame rapidly unloading the spring and suspension. This is probably set up and amplified distant from the point of notice. What I cannot tell from the video is if the oscillation is linear from side to side, or more pronounced on a single side. Rob
  15. I don't know what series but it certainly looks like an Oliver tractor. The grille, and rear fenders give it away. Rob
  16. I can't watch the video. Are you stating the tire/wheel assembly is not "hopping" at the posted speeds? If the tire is not oscillating or hopping at any given speed an imbalance condition prolly doesn't exist. If the bounce is from an unsprung condition, this could start at many places through the truck and transfer forward. If you can, restrain one frame rail of the truck and use the engine to inch forward, and rearward noting the movement of the left frame rail with the right rail stationary, (you don't even need to come off of idle) then repeat with the left rail stationary. If you notice more than about a half inch of movement in either rail, start blowing the rivets retaining the xmembers, and replace with grade eight bolts very tight. Also make sure the 5th wheel plate, (if equipt) is very tight to the frame if not welded. Loose xmembers are bad about doing what you are experiencing; once a vibration starts anyplace on the truck, it can transfer anyplace else till it finds a place to freely oscillate. Rob
  17. Swear I seen that too. Rob
  18. Yes, the corrupt land of Chicago. Kinda funny they are different political parties offering proof positive the system is broken. Rob
  19. I've seen old drums present the problem also. Some of those can be difficult to acquire new. You might have that hub assembly balanced while it is apart by welding, and grinding for balance. This can't hurt. Rob
  20. Look at the back side of the spokes. They rust badly and eventually start to "chip off" internally. You could have lost a few ounces due to this and the unbalance rotating mass could be the problem. Rob
  21. Amazing. Blago followed Ryan to both office, and prison. Rob
  22. Two important "pressmen". Illinois license plates; keeping former governors busy. What a record. Rob
  23. "pbarran13" has been removed as a spammer. Please continue to forward suspicions of this type of activity. Thanks, Rob
  24. How old is your manual? Mine shows three different types used. What axle do you have? Rob
