  4. Matt: TruckChrome.com has 60" stacks in what I think you are looking for. Rob
  5. Yes it would be a fine trans. It is an air shifted single stick six speed trans that is a 1:1, (direct) trans. I do think it is older than 1989 however. If in good condition, it should be worth about $500.00 or so used but untested. Pull the top cover and look at the slider forks, gear tooth edges, and general cleanliness. If you can, swab the bottom of the case with a towel on a rod of some sort looking for excessive chips. Rob
  6. IF'N you start to hear some type of sharpening unit in the background, (no matter how faint, or the reasoning) RUN!! I mean RUN!!, and don't look back!!!! Rob

Would you go swimming up the Colonel Korn River? Rob
  8. There will be hand stamped numbers near the 284kb number your reference on the left side of the trans case. Post a photo if you can. Rob
  9. Doesn't look like an 850 Holmes to me. I've owned one, and built a truck with another, and this bed is about half the size and capacity. Rob

  11. He is unable to respond due to 52oz's of sac. I'm not sure if that is total weight, one side only, and/or if balanced from side to side. Regardless, is it quite the strain on the body to lug that kinda bulk around daily. It makes website participation difficult. Now you know why I have no problems.......... Rob

Makes me kinda wonder if the kisser, or the kissee would enjoy that more? Rob
  13. You don't. One line is the service, (blue). The other is the emergency, (Red). The last line is the actuator which connects to your dash valve to operate the valve. Rob

Radiation is cumulative over ones exposure throughout their lifetime. I'm certain better than half my brain cells are long gone of those surviving the high school years......... Rob

How many "friends" have you lost in your profile since the allowance of political and slightly "off color" conversations have been allowed? Three folks have deleted themselves from mine in the past two weeks. Guess someone was offended by something I said? Rob
  16. I've prolly changed a dozen myself. They were a "high failure" item for a couple of years. Rob
  17. That's right, 34 years ago today me and "Momma" was married. Back then I had hair, most of my teeth, weighed in at 145 pounds, freedom, a single B model Mack truck, and BALLS! So much has changed through the years. I now have kids, grandkids, more Mack trucks than I can ever use, a nice shop instead of the driveway to work in, cat, (Mouser 1), couple of dogs, and complete total lack of ambition, or motivation. Yes, a lot has changed through the years. But I've not done to shabby for a 16 year old high school dropout. To be fair, "Momma" after riding my ass for near six full years finally convinced me to go back to night adult education classes. I fucked around for just over two years and graduated with a genuine high school diploma. Rob
  18. Okay, a little fun for your day. It will only take a minute and you’ll be amazed at how accurate it is! Be honest and don't look at the movie list below until you have done the math! Ok, just humor me and do it! Try this test and find out what movie is your favorite. This amazing math quiz can likely predict which of these movies you would enjoy the most. It really works... for MOST of us anyway! Movie Quiz: 1.) Pick a number from 1-9. 2.) Multiply by 3. 3.) Add 3. 4.) Multiply by 3 again. 5.) Now add the two digits of your answer together to find your predicted favorite movie in the list of movies below: Movie List: 1. Gone With the Wind 2. E.T. 3. Blazing Saddles 4. Star Wars 5. Forrest Gump 6. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly 7. Jaws 8. Grease 9. The Obama Farewell Speech of 2012 10. Casablanca 11. Jurassic Park 12. Shrek 13. Pirates of the Caribbean 14. Titanic 15. Raiders of the Lost Ark 16. Home Alone 17. Mrs. Doubtfire Now, ain't that something?? Rob
  19. Yes, it is basically a "slip fit". They just look a little different. Rob
  20. Exactly. there is a shuttle valve inside the TP valve that is air operated. It is stuck partially open from age/corrosion/leakage. The small air line run to this valve is the pilot air line from the flipper switch in the cab for "normal, or emergency" selection. The port inside the TP valve should be blocked from passing air in the emergency position. Rob
  21. We have a scrapyard around here that is tied in with the Caterpillar plants. They have a couple of the new Cat branded trucks. I think they sound a lot like a 6-71 GMC under acceleration, but seem to move faster. Rob
  22. That is a TP-1 style tractor protection valve. They are hard to get and obsolte over 20 years ago. I'd go with a TP-3 which is commonplace nowadays. Rob
  23. Question: How do you starve an Obama supporter to death? Hide their food stamps under work shoes. Rob
  24. That, and the crank sensor are the two highest failure items on that engine. Rob
  25. Glad to hear it runs well. Those engines are getting expensive to repair if major in nature. That should make you a real nice truck. Rob
