  1. Not that I'm aware of unless they were absorbed into the corp. Rob
  2. The turbochargers do make one hell of a difference. My engine with N80's has a little over 6300 hours in generator duty and is all original. Rob
  3. Great new Ernie!! I know how good that engine sounds from being around them myself. I've looked several places but have not found any N70's yet but there are some other places I need to look also. You'll like those N80's with turbocharging. Rob
  4. I'm not certain you should reuse any main cap bolts from that engine. The block should be check for trueness through the main saddles and the bearing cap would be very suspect. If you engine is an 864 series there will be parts show up someplace so patience will be necessary. Rob
  5. Sounds plausible. Probably get a giant govt. grant to set up in a new terminal with top notch logistics and plenty of contracts ensuring success too. Very Democratic indeed. Rob
  6. The sticker on the dash still denoted a five speed "Maxitorque" transmission pattern. When I first took off I tried shifting like a nine speed but the spread was much too wide for this. Quickly grabbing what I assumed would be sixth, (it was) the gear selection was much more in line with expectations. I am dissapointed to discover you don't know everything. I've always looked up to you for knowlege abundance and now feel the bottom has dropped out of my world. Rob
  7. I have a difficult time referring to someone that sits a truck 120,000 miles a year "lazy". Sorry. Rob
  8. Swift backwards is "Two Faggots in White Sleeper". So I'm told. Rob
  9. A Peterbilt with 735,000 miles? I'm calling the people at Guiness World Records, and J.C. himself cause this has got to be a record!! Rob
  10. I say it looks like a Mack trans but I can't be certain. It does have an eight bolt PTO on the left side, and a six bolt cover on the right side. There are definately 10 gears as sixth gear is to the seat and down just after you pull the range selector up, and it has three countershafts. The trans is dirty and can't be investigated for numbers until it is cleaned. The truck was used for private low boy hauling, and farm harvest. I also don't see any rust as it's always been stored inside. Rob
  11. Actually full. I started out in this truck to the show in South Bend, IN at the end of May and turned back due to transmission noise starting this whole ordeal. Rob
  12. This morning I finished up plumbing the air lines for the transmission. All went well. After gettting the oil leak fixed with a new gasket and gray silicone gasket maker, then refilling the trans it was time to go for a drive. The trans is stiff to shift and takes twice the effort the former 12513 did to shift through the gears. I did not get going fast enough to exercise the splitter but the lo to hi, and hi to low range selections work fine. Best part is that low speed "growl" in forward and reverse is gone. Rob
  13. I get a call from a gentleman this afternoon and he is liquidating his father's estate and complying with the will in which I was named in, (for some reason). I don't immediately recognize the caller's name but when he tells me his deceased father's name, I immediately recoginize him and am saddened with news of the passing. His father is the person that gave the B67 to me. The reason for the call is the 1988 R model tractor that was a replacement for the B67 has specifically been left to me. Not having much to do in the shop today I grabbed up my shop helper, drove up, conversed for a bit, then drove the tractor home. This runs like a top but is underpowered bobtail. I think it needs a turbo replaced due to smoke and lack of power. Seems like it hasn't seen a shot of grease in eons either. Something seems to be going bad in the 10 speed Mack trans also. It is damned hard to pull out of 7th, and 8th gear on the upshift but the power band is smooth. My helper was driving almost 75 mph to keep up with me when I had the speedo pegged on 55 mph. I know the truck was built with a Mack five speed and he had the 10 speed installed. It is a triple countershaft trans but must be a newer series than my old ones as it looks different and has casting letters denoting a "wet clutch". Never have seen something like this before but I'll prolly get a look at the guts to see what is up. The shift pattern is tight and the shift handle is solid through the power band. A very quiet truck with rear taperleaf springs, and air ride cab that bounces like a basketball, (needs shocks). Hell this thing rides so good I'm going to follow Trent's lead and call Phil for parts to convert one of mine. Here are some photos. Rob
  14. Online low balling from a new poster. Sure is a different time we live in. Don't think the offer is enough to be seriously considered. Rob
  15. Don't forget to incorporate some type of liquid chiller system into the seats cause I hate to ooze onto other people's property. Rob
  16. And if you want accurate, ask for Other Dog!! Rob
  17. http://columbia.craigslist.org/cto/2589282674.html Looks like it could be a nice truck. Rob
  18. I've seen that one advertised someplace prior. Nice truck yet the sleeper is large enough to sleep me an "Momma" on different racks after my hydraulic lift to get into bed is installed. Rob
  19. HI Ron, we have a new baby at home,(grandaughter to me) just released from hospital on Wednesday and I will need to remain home. Been planning to show up and visist with my uncle again this year, but need to cancel. Rob
  20. Rob

    Snake hunting

    Mine too!! Rob
  21. Hi there and welcome to the site. No harm at all and everybody is welcome. My trucks are all for hobby use and produce no revenue. Thanks for your input. Rob
  22. Hi Ron, that is the same spec I have on my R model with the exception of 11RX24.5 tires and she'll run just a little faster than that on the mechanical speedometer. I didn't realize this original post was forty nine months old to the day. Seems like only yesterday I was asking the question. Thanks, Rob
  23. Got her fixxed up tonight. Removed the shifter tower again, removed the counter gear cap, (gasket was split) and replaced gasket with new one. I did give it just a touck of gray "Permatex" sealant and reinstalled, then refilled everything. No leaks now and everything is good. Rob
  24. Naw, the freezer is stocked with tasty morsels. Just haven't had time to scrape the gravel clear yet. This is the compassion in me cause I care about others' teeth ya know. Rob
  25. I think so cause the last time she was home there were rope burns on her ankles and wrists. Also was complaining about "rough treatment" and missed my "cuddling". Don't know what randyp does to her as she was too embarrased to say. Rob
