  1. The current style button does not match the older style no. It does match the type used on the "Valueliner" series of trucks with a dog in the center. It doesn't come close to fitment, or physical match. Rob
  2. Ain't that the truth. A Peterbilt and a good set of soles on your shoes and you be all set. Warm socks and a heavy coat in the winter are a good idea too. Rob
  3. Two options here: 1. With ramps, unload the rear Mack, jerk that Peterbilt out of the way, hitch to the trailer leaving the Pete to revert to it's original state of matter, (dirt). 2. Pay for an awful expensive tow bill, (again) cause common sense says don't leave no Mack alongside the road because them things is gold. Of course this part about "common sense" does not apply if you are a politician, or in Obama's fanbase. Rob
  4. Sometimes it's much better to stay small and do most everything yourself with the occasional sublet work. Rob
  5. Could be. I can't really tell them apart as they all look the same. Rob
  6. The single countershaft "Spicer" trannys are a really good one to learn on. Very simple in construction and easy to teach oneself the power flow of operation. Only drawback is they are heavy sons a bitches for no bigger than they are. Rob
  7. Best look at your parts support and availability. I don't have to tell you driving a Peterbilt that a machine broke down on a job is worthless if you can't get parts and repairs in a hurry. Cat and Deere have the best parts and support with Case being very close in this neck of the woods. Of course the cost is higher on some of those too. Rob
  8. Funny how neither John Deere tractors, nor Freightliner trucks just don't seem to show up on my computer........... Rob
  9. Seen my signature icon didn't you? LOL! Rob
  10. Some used that, but most the knob could be twisted either way to remove. I didn't want to mislead and they all will turn to the left so reasoning for the response provided. The rubber tabs, and hardware are still available if you want to replace with new. The design was used for many years, by many marques. Rob
  11. The countershaft is walking due to worn out bearings. Chances are the trans at some point was run without oil and the countergear walked fore and aft in the case chewing the bushings and shim packs to pieces. Hope the gear is quiet in operation or it can get expensive. Rob
  12. The B model looks really nice with the girl a second. What Freightliner do you see? Rob
  13. My kiddo, "Nikki" is going into the hospital later tonight or early tomorrow as she is starting labor. Being already in excess of a week overdue. the dr. is going to induce her delivery within the next few hours. Rob
  14. That's casual. Rob

    One For Rob

Don't forget the sexting part too. Rob
  16. I'd seen that this morning. If I were into MH series that would prolly be a good one to have. Rob
  17. I'd like to have a demo or rock bucket for one of my trucks. I no longer want to use "Momma's" A-40 for a dumper which I need. Engines are fairly easy to come by so you will be in luck. You'll feel much better with one of those too. I wouldn't go quite as far as having my nuts removed to cure either a headache, or backache, but those DM's don't ride so good empty. Rob
  18. You're in luck as the affliction is easily cured. Rob
  19. I sure enough hope not. Rob
  20. Still too damned many. Rob
  21. I purchased two "NoMar" steel beds new. One a 19', and the other a 22' with forklift package. Other than being very heavy, I liked them for short hauls. For a short time I tried the local wrecker service operations but exited at the one year interval. Too damn cut throat for me. That and around here there are low buck outfits still willing to tow a car for $35.00. Can't really justify doing that when running a $60,000 or better piece of equipment and paying a driver as it leaves no profit margin to maintain equipment with. Rob
  22. I'll be up next week or the following. Find out what he needs for it before scrap time. If you could, snap me a photo so I can compare. Appreciate it. Rob
  23. Forgot to tell you guys I went to look at this truck over the weekend. What a piece of garbage ready for the yard. The block has extra ventilation in the side where the number four big end of the rod exited, (the piston and upper parts are still there) the turbocharger has been removed and an adapter fashioned to cover the hole, exhaust flex tube connected from the intake to the air cleaner outlet, a cab that is barely on the frame eaten up by fertilizer, rear rear axle tube corroded through and leaking, and a really "friendly" hood that waves at you in the breeze. Only really good thing about the truck was power steering which I assumed worked, and nice recap tires on the steer that tried to be passed off as virgin. Also had two 12VDC "rebuilt" batteries which were also passed off a new. Believe it or not, it actually started and ran on five cylinders blowing oil out of the busted block. The truck was built with a 10 speed, but had a five speed Mack trans installed. Said he'd take $1250.00 for it which was less than scrap value. I offered half and he was insulted so I left. Rob
  24. Hey Trent, does that yellow Valueliner still have a radiator in it? I"m needing a set of aluminum tanks for my RL797. Don't really care about the core as I'll install new. Rob
  25. I understand he wanted my bear to quit "stroking" in the first place. That being the case, the gorilla must be for some other purpose. Maybe she left me cause I don't like honey and he does? The world wonders. Rob
