  1. Here ya go Tony. http://www.redneck-trailer.com/2009/G/G15-G18.pdf Rob
  2. The floor support you mention is a structural member of the cab. As I remember the bend of the steel is straight on the side that is forwward in the cab, and the rear is on an arch to follow contour of the cab back. I've never replaced one complete, and am going on memory, but don't really think you have a problem. Rob
  3. Got my second but need to have that V8 sound. Rob
  4. The door will need to be modified, or a new style latch and striker installed. It is a bolt in operation. I would go with the new style latch as it is double pawl and less succeptible to opening when you don't want it to....... If you prefer to use the original, "square up" the hole in the door, weld a patch into it, and bore the hole round in the center and remount your existing latch. Although I've never done it you could probably use the old style latch in the new door with slight modification and it would work but not look right. Rob
  5. Well what do you know. Over the first little hill in life. Happy B'day Pete!! Rob
  6. Hi Larry, I'll photocopy a print for a jig you can build easily to pull both heads at the same time. I've had mine off in less than an hour this way. In fairness, I didn't have the front sheet metal on the truck. Rob
  7. I'll bet that would make muscles burn you never knew existed. Rob
  8. This is kinda interesting that this is tracked like this. Rob http://www.miseryindex.us/
  9. There is also another option as "existing stocks" referred only to new trucks being built at the time. This had nothing to do with "service replacement parts" that were in the system. I'm quite certain that if someone wanted the older style cab when specing a new chassis and the changeover to the new cab had already commenced, this area would have been tapped. Remember this was still in the days where Mack wanted to please, and comply with the end user's request/requirements. Not really this way any longer as we know. The larger cab was welcomed in those days however. Rob
  10. Thanks Herb, pretty nice piece of news to receive. Rob
  11. Spent quite a bit of time in Millington back in 1985. My daughter was born while stationed there. Don't make many deliveries there however. Rob
  12. Well, I'm in Chicago this weekend where my son treated us to a Cub's game, along with a family cookout. As a sideline venue, he informed us, we are going to be first time grandparents. Congratulations are in order for both Colby, and Melissa. Happy Labor Day to you and yours. Rob
  13. Yessirr, that is correct. The manufacturer was allowed to deplete existing stocks in production before completing the changeover to the then new cab layout. Rob
  14. Hey guys, it looks as if there is serious interest brewing to get this mess "straightened out". This very thread was the beginning of the path of progression bringing a few things to the forefront, and as we all know, "you can't fix what you don't know is broke". I appreciate the efforts expended to right the path that has been taken. I don't think anything was intentional and certainly not malicious but it appears to be found the membership has not been served as needed. I know I was quite surprised to learn others were having problems. I've spoken with a couple officers of the club personally with ideas and solutions being actively engaged. My belief is everyone involved envisions the club prospering and growing with better involvement and interaction with the membership. This can, and will happen in the near future I'm quite certain. If I proceed further down the path to forming a chapter in the midwest I will be solicting for membership of this new chapter. I have yet to receive the by-laws and such for development, but if you have an interest, pm me on this site for now. We will take it slow in the beginning stages. As most of you know I have ample real estate available to hold meetings, shows etc., and there is room for growth. Rob
  15. Wouldn't mind watching that Superliner sit in my driveway being switched over to my name while I was a eating on that watermelon. Always kinda liked them. Rob
  16. Very well could be. They send me information I can use against others, and I send them a check for services rendered. Simple process actually. They are staged all over the country awaiting the oportune time....... Rob
  17. Tried to purchase that truck back in 2000 to put up my building with. They wanted like $12,000 for it and wouldn't budge. Guess they didn't want to sell it....... Rob
  18. Nothing is hopeless if the mindset is correct. Rob
  19. The spies that can think cost a little more. Rob
  20. I have a small genset I need to get to/near Colorado Springs. It weighs about 800 pounds and will fit in the back of a pickup bed for size comparison. The trailer deal I had wasn't as represented so I will not be going that way anytime soon. I'm outside Peoria, IL and can deliver this to either St. Louis, or Chicago for pickup to keep anyone from going out of their way. Need to get this done fairly soon. Also from the same place I have a rolling R797 chassis that needs to come back here. It will fit on a 30' flat deck trailer but will be close. A 32' would be better. Loading/unloading on both ends is no problem. If interested, PM me on this site. Thanks, Rob
  21. No chance of rebuilding yours? Rob
  22. My spies have "ratted" you out. Seems the Mack, although traveling slow because of the "treemendous" amount of weight it was saddled with, was pulling itself along steadily. However the silver Peterbilt, (although running for the time being) was being "pushed" with a bulldozer the camera neglected to show. Yup. I knew there was a reason. Rob
  23. And fun you shall have. That is a good looking "truck". I really like it. What are the "fresh air" scoops on the sides of the hood, (bonnet) used for? Could you post photos of the left side air cleaner mounting arrangement and underside of the hood of the left side? I'm wanting to mount another air cleaner also to feed my Detroit engine. Thanks, Rob
  24. Got the spring shackles replaced tonight along with new rear shocks. Nice difference in ride quality.

  25. He's in Daingerfield, TX right now, (working on an excavator man) so you're safe for the time being. Rob
