  1. They are over the place in value. I have a couple RTO-12513's, and an RT-12513 that I bought cheap. All the RTO series transmissions have Mack bells and the RT series is not brand specific. One of the RTO's I purchased for $1000.00 from an RS series of Mack and received all the mounts needed to convert from a six speed Mack, and new input shaft with it. The second RTO was purchased for $200.00 and known good from a Cruiseliner cabover that burnt up. It also has a Mack bell. I gave $50.00 for the RT series and know nothing about it other than it looks good inside with the top cover removed. I'd put it on ebay for a reserve amount you think is fair and let the market dictate the value or better yet see if it can be traded to someone for usable parts for a hobby truck. Rob
  2. Steel is not preferred due to weight. I'm needing a trailer for hauling my antique trucks, not general freight or wrecked cars. In fact it will be used as a parking deck most of the year with a couple trucks setting on it. Really don't want to spend more than $5000.00 for an older but usable trailer, and prefer a very low deck height. Don't mind installing a new deck but want no major repairs. Lengthwise, I don't want any more length than 48' absolute including the dovetail I'm anticipating installing. I plan to build a hydraulic slide axle trailer but don't have the time available now. Thanks, Rob
  3. Soon to be outlawed in a state near you for environmental crimes against humanity....... Rob
  4. First marriage ehhh? You musta got outta that one with your nuts intact if you're in a follow up. How'd you do it????? Rob
  5. I always avoid stirred pots "Like the Plague"; As you already know. Rob
  6. No, not really. I suppose it comes naturally. Always been like that. Some say a vivid imagination is my limitation; I see it as challenge. Truthfully, it took between three and four minutes to type that out and another five, (or so) to proofread, and condense to render legibility to other readers. I do the best I can with my limited education and skills. Thanks for your inquiry. Rob
  7. Yur prolly right again Gregg. I'll have to seek entrepreneur dollars, (i.e. government grant monies funded by the little people that pay taxes) to further investigate the feasibility of using bleed air from either APU's, or DPF's new trucks must have, to boil off and evaporate amonium concentrate refrigerant used to chill a temperature reducing vessel/chamber to form ice used for cooling brakes. Of course the preliminary research invested into this new technology adds nearly 1250 pounds total weight to the average automotive conveyance, but being a completely self contained and hermetically sealed system, lt is deemed safe for use by my close buds, the "Greenies". As a second vehicle for implementation it could be downsized, and as a safety item be mandated for usage on all passenger carrying vehicles. All in the name of saving "Gods Green Earth", and protecting ourselves, from ourselves, you know. Damn, I hate having to work for my nomination. Nobody else does. Rob
  8. Ya know, if you went with the clear tube idea between the fittings, then drove the truck in cold, humid weather before long you could tell the level of ice in the air brake system. Of course this may be beneficial cause the brakes would not overheat and fading could be kept to a minimum. Maybe that is something me and Other Dog should seek a patent on. See how smart I be? This prolly makes me a double geeeeenieous!! Maybe now I can get my own Nobel Prize, (since they just give them away nowadays). Rob
  9. There are several threads advising to avoid that vendor on many websites. Don't know first hand but as I understand he sells a lot that is not in his inventory and you must wait many months to obtain the parts or a refund. I've purchased a couple of the senders from Carquest without problems within the last six months. Rob
  10. See, another entry to the good book. I always thought you spelt genious as: Jeanyus. Thank you. Rob
  11. I is. In fact, I've just added a few more pages to the journal anticipating the future good deeds you will convey. Rob
  12. Yes, but you're enjoying grilled "pulled pork", while I continue to enjoy "scraped and baked coon" from IL-78 with home made hot sauce. That sounds like something I should market: Rob's "Easy Scrape and Bake" Oven. I would even enclose the spatula in the package, (made in China of course). Rob
  13. If I don't eat chilli, I don't have gas. If I don't drink soda, I don't get pimples. If I don't brush my remaining tooth, it'll fall out. If I don't drive a Pete, I drive home instead of walking. There are choices, just need to make the correct ones. I love chilli, Mexican, and Italian foods so I only get small portions daily, (thanks to Momma) to sidestep the gas problem. Yes, he should plead with his boss for a Mack. Just don't get the years in the aforementioned timeframe. Rob
  14. What would give you that idea? We've been trying to teach him to get out of that Pete for sometime and it ain't working. I think walking from the breakdown point is part of his exercise routine. Rob
  15. Man, the things guys do when their Pete is broke down. Rob
  16. Last evening's present opening wasn't too bad a haul for ole Rob. Santa had left me another set of stainless lug nut covers and hubcaps for steel rims under the tree. I was also told that the bulk of my Christmas gifts were left at my son's house that I'll get to see on New Year's Day. The excitement is building because I like getting things for the trucks as gifts. I'm "too cheap" to purchase this kind of stuff. Momma mentioned that Santa "sent the message to order four group 31 series batteries for two of my trucks. She also mentioned that this was not her forte' and that I should handle it. A quick call to Barry, and they're waiting on me. There is a "flip side" to this though. You see, Momma was left a "boning knife" under the tree for Christmas. Now when I seen this thing getting unwrapped, instant fear and paralysis set in as I can only imagine what something like that would be used for. It just so happens she is unwrapping this knife as my brother in law, "Eduardo", (Serita's husband from the Phillipines) is telling me of another old Mack truck I should have. I must try to obtain "better behavior" patterns as there is nothing of the conventional parts left to lose. Rob
  17. That's right. I'd forgotten about the "Plus" designation but I've never had one. I'll have to look at my E6-350 as I don't remember for sure but seems like it has three filters. Rob
  18. I am under the impression that Luberfiner manufactured both types of filters/housings used by Mack and have referred to both as Luberfiners. I do know the difference between the 500, and 750 series as I have both. My 64 B61 actually has "Luberfiner" on it and is the "clarifier" type, but I don't remember if it is stamped, or a tag. Both this truck, and my B67 utilize the same filters and have the two large hoses, and small hose in the bottom for oil routing. Rob
  19. My old "Pitman" boom crane on an IH truck has served me well for over 25 years but I would like to have something that was fully hydraulic actuated. It is basically an old friction type crane but does swing 90 degrees each side of center. It really does work great for work out of doors but I'd like something to use inside hence the bridge crane setup that remains in a pile. Rob
  20. We are in preparation for opening gifts from the in laws side of the family right now so the adventure continues. We are having Christmas with our son on the 1st, and those gifts to me are usually truck related. Rob
  21. Quoting Ed Mcmahon: "You are correct sir"!! Need is correct, however that has nothing to do with want........ Rob
  22. That is the one Paul was speaking of for Thad. Looks like it would be a really nice little unit. Let me offer some advice; "Strap a cup on really tight when you bring it home". This is of course because I'm concerned about your safety. Rob
  23. On the 676 series of engines the three filter setup was referred to "ESI" or "Extended Service Interval". The oil pan installed onto these engines were typically much larger in capacity, (like 60 quarts as opposed to 34) also. The two filter setup did not use the partial bypass filter as mentioned earlier. I've seen people leave the bypass type filters in place minus the element for larger oil capacity.
  24. Kissing Cousins? Actually I've been a die hard Mopar fan since childhood due to very dependable service. At the time I purchased that Ford I was doing all the auto body repair work for the dealership so wanted to keep business local. That truck was not a fatal flaw in our relationship, but it definately strained it at the time. The owner passed away a couple years later and his son in law ran it out of business within five years so it is now gone. Ford didn't want to support their "small dealers" while struggling for their own very survival anyways. Rob
  25. "shootin blanks" huh?? Which pistol is this for? Nice grapple truck. I'd like to have something like that myself but can't justify the cost due to sitting. Come to think of it, with thanks given to Momma, I too shoot blanks. Rob
