I really don't know anything about Brian, nor the business. However he did me right through an unseen internet purchase, (I feel) and only relaying the same. I've heard horror stories myself, but in a world where most look to discredit and spread hate for whatever subject they can participate in, credit needs given where due and his business seems to be successful as it's been around a lot of years. He is not one of those vendors I would "blanket" disregard if there was something of interest to me. Just my thoughts; sorry if any disagree. -
He really is not a bad guy in my opinion. I purchased my drop deck from there and once here it was much worse than he thought. My photos proved it. He offered to reverse the transaction if I returned the trailer, or refunded enough from the purchase price to pay for the steel to replace the complete neck after I submitted an estimate. This is what I elected to do and the trailer has served me well. Again this is back when I knew how to do this kind of crap: These days I need somebody to show me how to tie my shoes.....

Well damn. One I looked at a few years ago did have a leaner in it. That is the only other B-65 I've ever seen and assumed it was original. Oh well, Thanks.

Nice photos and thanks for sharing. On "going tubeless"; what brand of tires are used? Both Kumho and General have discontinued the similar tread pattern which I like.

I "may" be interested in the engine as a ready spare for my B-673. I have no extra parts for the "Leaning Tower of Mack" under the hood and I think a B-65 engine did lean IIRC. I could be wrong too.....

I always ran "Mobil 1" synthetic wheel bearing grease in my Mid-Liners. Never had any with oil hubs.

I've always filled all reservoirs on an empty system and bleed the master first to the inlet of the hydravac unit. Then bleed hydravac unit, then move to the wheel ends. Trying to bleed the system as a single unit leaves too many variables and guessing. Break the overall system into components and work it from that angle. Vacuum is much easier if you have access to the process but it goes pretty quick with a couple of folks working in unison. -

Why don't you install either an older Delco 25/26SI, or Leece-Neville/Prestolite 2500JB series instead? There are newer and more modern variants available also but these only require a single wire be run to them and are internally regulated. The truck being a 1982 probably had those models as options if not originally installed. Those are the ones I use as any more than one wire really cleans my clock; 😉 -

My deceased father in law had a 1977 Bronco. 302V8 and C4 automatic with limited slip in the rear. Bright red with a white top. Washed every Saturday morning to remain clean. Nice looking vehicle and he always rode in it alone. I went to hop into the passenger side and when I opened the door it literally fell off the vehicle and onto my foot! No shit neither as the hinge post was rotted away. One time I was grateful I wore steel toed work boots too!

I can't say it looks familiar but it was a long time ago. A lot of mixers were Rocket and looked as that one does. Don't remember anybody running red frames. The company "Otto" worked for had white trucks with blue frames with white spokes.

You can get about 375hp out of those reliably but don't push more than that; in fact I'd limit to 350. Had several on generator sets and they can snap a crank with a hard load impressed upon them. It's a more robust design through the main saddles than the 5.9ltr, (360ci) engine and does fine when treated respectfully.

Sounds like the same party I've dealt with before. Buy at auction and sell on ebay or elsewhere without ever seeing the item. Party I'm referencing is based in New York and has many ebay names. M.O. is the same in these instances.

Value is what a seller and purchaser agree to. I have a 51 A40H myself with a 377ci gas engine and air brakes. I wouldn't take several times what others would think the truck is worth because I like it. I really don't understand you question how, or why you would ask a value if just purchased and not even in your possession yet? Are you simply interested in "flipping" it?

Buddy has one, (1948 EQ) in Texas and when I drove it I didn't notice any chains or sprockets. In fact it looked just like a dual reduction Mack differential to me. -
I had actually wondered if he survived that ordeal. I'm not going to pass guilt or innocence in the matter as I have no facts pertaining but Steve was a good participant in the early days here.

I'll bet the same truck. Used to tent camp in a couple places west of Appomattox. That was in the 1986 -1987 timeframe when I was home, (Norfolk at the time).

Mine performs very similar. Need to pull down a gear at about 1300rpm or so. That of course is my driving style. I'm not a WFO, and idle type guy myself.

I had mine turn key installed and all inclusive with replacement hardware. They came back media blasted clean and epoxy coated in black. My uncle built up the cams and machined them back round as they were long obsolete. Also converted from the "rotochamber" to standard service and spring brake chambers but haven't put it back together yet. The truck remains on jack stands. -
It sure seems I've seen that truck in the past where it was sitting on 460. We traveled there, (Appomattox Courthouse) a couple of times when I was in the Navy to see the sites when the kids were little. Used to be several former military trucks around there too that were used in VFD's.

I purchased that several years ago from a truck repair shop where the owner was retiring. I went to HS with his grandson so he treated me right and this has paid for itself many times over.

The chassis mounted charge air cooler yielded a cooler intake charge, (more efficient) than the water to air, (tip turbine) and that was probably a player.
