  1. Have a piece of aluminum broke to wrap the edge about 3/4" in from edge and center drill for through bolting ever three inches. In a FOPS application I would probably go with 3/8" or better thickness. The stuff really is pretty durable but a 3/8ths bolt falling from say 10 feet can put the hurts to a guy if it hits them. When I had interest in the sawmill cab manufacturing entity, we used 1/2" on the door and screen in front of the sawyer, and it would stop an airborne "kickout" chunk of wood without breakage.Get light gray tint of about 15%-20%. It's not dark enough to hinder working at night but will knock the sun intensity down a lot. Rob
  2. I don't mind and certainly pay her no attention till she gets out that damned butcher knife. Now that thing scares me!!Rob
  3. GE brand "Lexan" will hold up to sun exposure and is very tough. It is what motorcycle windshields are made of. Not cheap and much better than "plexiglass" commercially available in hardware stores.Rob
  4. R model fuel tanks, 5th wheel way to far forward. Rob

Naw. I'm too big around the middle to bend over to hike them up. My calf is now larger than a 150 pound average man's waist. Oh well, back when days were fun. Now all I do is sweat in the air conditioned room and make it smell like fungus. Rob

I used to be able to hike my pantleg up over my calf and get anyplace I needed to go but not no more........Guess I'll never be a trucker. Rob
  7. Positive on fitment as I double checked. Readily available but expensive.
  8. I am quite certain the truck to the right person is very much worth the money. For most however, a truck of that age is simply a "toy". An $18,000 dollar expenditure needs to be justified to most people that actually work for a living and this truck simply is too old to make a living with. You don't just go into the parts store and tell them you need a water pump, thermostat, or many other seemingly small parts for an NH-220 Cummins engine and expect to walk out with the part in hand. There will near always be several days between when you order the part until you actually have the replacement to install. The downtime would preclude the truck being used for anything other than very small business use, or backup to another unit. Chances are the engine, transmission, and rears are in good condition and needing no obvious repairs at the time of sale, but the truck is not new and things/parts do age without use also. Tires by themselves will cost in excess of $300.00 each for anything other than the cheapest quality available. To build a somewhat rough truck into what this one is could very well cost in excess of the selling price discounting labor costs. I think it is a nice truck and probably worth the selling price to a person that specifically wants a B-73 tractor. To the average "hobbiest", the price is probably a little elevated. Rob
  9. Seen it yesterday and immediately thought: "The little truck that could".Rob
  10. PAI has them new.PAI floor mat part # FMT-5732 OEM part # 21QR555R
  11. Yup and I'll bet it's a screamer with the "Farr" filter.Rob
  12. Ahhh, but did you enjoy, or derive satisfaction from the so called violation?Rob
  13. Hi Brian, I'll try to call later this afternoon. I have a couple of air shift 10 speeds that I'd like to reproduce the instruction placards for. These were white lettering on a black background and had the bulldog in the upper left corner but it's the 1950's type dog which is wider and stouter looking than the later logos.Rob
  14. Ensure your bulb sockets do not have water or corrosion in them, along with wiring terminations. A high resistance connection will fool a mechancal type flasher into not working properly. These are a bi-metal construction and rely upon a give resistance value to "make, and break" the circuit to cause the lamp to flash. With your voltage varying as it does I would be looking at the charging system for evaluation also. The alternator should be outputting near 14.5VDC at engine idle speed if in good shape.Rob
  15. This is exactly why you need to restore your own little piece of history. Who gives a flying shit if anybody else likes it as long as you do.
  16. And I'm like the ketchup on the top that squeezes out between your teeth when you chomp down, or the chigger in your belt line, or a tick on your asscheek burrowing in etc......Welcome to the site. We actually have several knowlegeable folks with the fire apparatus and parts availability/vendors. Rob
  17. Given that engine is intercooled, and assuming the engine is original to the chassis, I'd assume so.Rob
  18. Repaired a whole lot of them in the 70's into the early 80's when they were everywhere. Rob
  19. Looks complete enough to use for patterns what needs replaced. I'd go for it but "Momma" would ensure I died a slow and painful death by driving nails through each of my extremities with an air nailer to a piece of plywood. Rob
  20. I'd seen this yesterday and thought it is a nice original but probably won't sell right away. It is high priced for a hobby truck, and much too old for a working unit consistently. To my eye, it doesn't appear to be a real high quality repaint and is starting to show it's age/wear. All factors to be considered before making a purchase of this magnitude. I don't get the impression the owner, or former long term owner of this truck is offering the sale but rather it's being resold. Of course there just may be someone out there that just "has to have it" and will lay down the funds to make it theirs, of which I hope. Rob
  21. Yes and hopefully the post will help them out.Rob
  22. I'm looking for a good scan of the 50's logo for the bulldog on the circle. These were not colored and black and white is fine. Looking to replicate the transfers for logos that were applied to heater faceplate housings in R models denoting how to shift the transmissions. Thanks, Rob
  23. Got the photos you asked for and will upload shortly. Rob
  24. Little "Barnyard Frolicing" there eh? Rob
  25. While we are on grammar: "she'd" shows ownership, possession, or places emphasis to a phrase.
