  1. I remember that town. We called it "Trousertroutville" when I was in Norfolk while in the Navy. His advertisements are always "reaching for the stars". Rob
  2. Rob

    Vin:

Does runnin out of fuel count??????????Rob
  3. I remember the hydraulics but not the nitrogen system. Is this an accumulator system with the gas over the top of the hydraulic pressure to "cushion" the shock loading on components? If so, they can be troublesome to keep operational and most operators do not have the capacity for field testing. Rob
  4. Whole lot of cantalevering there eh? I know that crane is heavy. Where were the counterweights? Maybe with the airbag system some "give" will be able to take place. Sure would seemingly reduce instantaneous transferred stresses through the structure. Rob
  5. Don't you just hate when that happens?Rob
  6. Can you get it up here? I'd bet we could repair it. Send some photos.Rob
  7. Put you a new throttle arm on the pump as those internal springs get weak with age. It will be a world of difference in operation. These are kinda/sorta like shock absorbers, they deteriorate so slowly one does not notice the degradation over time.Rob
  8. The only real complaint I had with the "Maxidyne" torque rise is that you are always hard on the throttle. Nature of the beast but I'm a little easier on the pedal than a lot of folks, (especially hired drivers) as I hate busted drivelines. The nine, 10, and more gears transmissions always seemed to be close enough in gear spread you didn't need to mash the fuel to the floor to get rolling and gain speed. You would get where you needed to be. The "Maxidyne" just ain't right unless there is a black cloud behind you.........Rob
  9. Scaling correctly is so overrated. Especially when it's somebody else's money..........Is the spreader bar you mention what you had behind the trailer when hauling the giant winch? Rob
  10. I liked theirs too but the pricing scared me. It could have been the dealer too but much to rich for me.Rob
  11. Well I gotta tell you. Once you get used to that "Maxidyne" curve, and a six speed trans, it is hard to go back. Lots of money made with that power combination. I'd go with an air shifted six speed if it were me however.Rob
  12. I've looked at a few and Dynaweld seems to be about the heaviest I've seen. Eager Beaver has nice ones too.Rob
  13. I've seen that poster also or one like it. Never have operated one except in a level concrete batch plant.Rob
  14. Thanks, just wanted to make certain we were staying on topic.Rob
  15. Hey!! Are we talking about trucks here or Rob?????? I resemble that comment "No Balls at All"!!!! Rob
  16. No problem. That is scary as any parent would find. Any ideas as to why the loss of control? Rob
  17. Think of the inherent relliability and redundency factors that would be built in.Rob
  18. It is about 160 miles southwest of him if he's on I-80 but it would certainly be nice to get that home. I need the frame for Project R-12.Rob
  19. If you can limp here, I have everything needed to change it out. Rob
  20. I wonder how many times a day, or night he "exercises" that switch, and what do you do when it wears out? Maybe a double dose of Viagra? Rob
  21. The same reason I never ran the lo-pro trucks in the car hauling. Not enough brakes and suspension on 19.5" tires. Everything was smaller to fit the smaller rims.Rob
  22. This is a picture of my RL755LST when new on a publicity shot. What is the primary purpose for this type of trailer? It I see them with grain haulers a lot but they dump into a pit inside a building at the elevators. Rob
  23. I have a couple of friends that drove formerly for TMC and were not happy with them due to running requirements. The complaints were not much home time? Both of these guys are what I'd consider "complainers", so took the comments with a grain of salt. Got to work if you want to make much money and TMC is not in business to go broke. Rob
