  1. You just happened to be looking at that site eh? Certainly seems like a coincidence your screen name matches so closely.Your introduction is cheesy at best. Rob
  2. Don't think I'll go into the recovery business again but that would be one I'd like if I did.Rob
  3. You guys done yet? I'm still eagerly awaiting my turn. Rob
  4. You will still need the ancillary items from a B model on the engine for it to physically fit under the hood. The water pump for instance is too long on an R model, as are all the other items mentioned earlier.Rob
  5. It will fit right in but you will probably need to the get the sheaves, (pulleys), waterpump, harmonic balancer, and a lot of small items from a B61 diesel engine. Also the rear axle ratio will not let the truck run as fast as the gasoline engine due to the lower operating rpm of the diesel engine. I think a rear axle from a B61 would be a bolt in item also.I don't know what five speed transmission you have in the truck currently, or what size bellhousing is on it. Might be best to purchase an older R model to use for donar parts cause if you purchase everything individually, it will be much more expensive. Rob
  6. I still do use mine to hold the idle up to service automotive air conditioners.Rob
  7. You are living right I'll tell you that. Good maintenance does pay off in many ways. I'd replace both springs as the other side will fail shortly after replacing the one side. That according to the law of averages that rules my life.......Rebuild machine tools eh? I'm certain you know what a blanchard stone is then and how to use them? There's the test for the day. Rob Rob

    Vin:

I've never questioned my orientation so haven't really needed to think about it. I've had several friends, customers, aquaintances, and former employees that are gay, lesbian, straight, bisexual, and anything out of what would be mostly considered normal, and have treated them no differently than anyone else all my life. I try to be an equal prick to everybody. We have to coexist in this world and bigotry is another one of those things I've not had a lot of patience/tolerance for. It is not my place to condone, or criticize others for their life's choices, but I will advise on how to stay mainstream if I have a clue. Since this subject has come up in the thread concerning Vinny, I'll say straight out I don't think the kid is gay. I do think he has some personal hangups or problems that need addressed such as very low self esteem, or belief in self worth. A broken family is a tough thing to get through for a young person especially in these trying times. I am happy Matt, (Papa) is there to offer the support or family support base he is lacking at home from the father figure. It is no less than comendable they have the relationship they do. This is what family is all about. I see Vinny having a hobby that will not attract many friends with the same interest, in the same age group. He is looking to fill that lack of companionship through relationships via the internet, (BMT for one). Most young boys his stated age are just starting to gain an interest in females as are the females becoming interested in males. Typically, automobiles and other major factor extra curricular activities don't enter into the adolescents mindset until the early teen years. Vinny has expressed several times there is no interest in girls, and without participation or sharing of his interest(s) by his peers, it can be a psycological battering to endure. Vinny needs to learn how to take a joke as the Dr. Phil poster was meant to be; and as it was when sent to me. Getting rid of Obama is one of the first steps to getting back to mainstream too. Rob
  9. "Sloppy Seconds" is such a generic term. Just to clarify: "I'm Going Last"!!Rob
  10. I think you got screwed on that deal.Rob
  11. That is a jamb screw the hits a "flat" on the pin if I remember correctly. Most likely this pin will be frozen in place and will take a bit of persuasion to remove. Most ot the grease zerks I've seen in this setup are 90 degree fittings. Most of these pins are press fit but look closely at the ends of the pins. If it is a screw in pin, there will be two flats machined into the end of the pin for a wrench to grab onto. If it is a straight pin, then it will need to be pressed out with a large "C" clamp setup. These can take a tremendous amount of force to bust free but once they "pop" loose, you can almost push them out by hand. The rear spring hanger is fairly easy to do but the removing the bolts at times can be a chore. I like to heat the housing very warm, (don't incinerate the rubber insulator) so the bolts don't snap off in the cap, or hanger. I've seen severa old trucks requiring spring work and only have either two, or three bolts retaining the spring pocket cover. Rob
  12. Queensland Australia is a awful long way for shipment to you is it not?Rob
  13. That cab is for another participant on the board. It isn't for me.Rob
  14. Just RL700L series "Western" trucks with Mack V8's. They have their own sound I really like.Rob
  15. While still intact, it has been severely bruised, and suffered so many concussions through the years, that even "Momma's" skillet just makes a dull "thud" upon impact. As I age however, the "mush" just seems to move a little more slowly.Rob
  16. Kent,There are always a set of those manuals on ebay. It depends on the vintage whether it is two, or three books in total. These are the manual the dealers used and they are very good at explanations for repairs and give many helpful tips. My set was for my 16th b'day, (many years ago) and I still reference them often. I've seen them go from less than $10.00 per book, to over $50.00 per book. The last pages of the manual(s) give the revision dates so it would be best to get a manual that supports your project year. Rob
  17. Calling sloppy seconds I am!Happy B'day! Rob
  18. Must but the "Johnson Rod" part. Maybe a knuter valve extractor?Rob
  19. Years ago when little I was playing with "sulfer powder" like the ladies of old used to do. A slurry of sulfer mixed with water into a paste applied to skin will of course burn a little bit, but the hair folicles are killed permanently. We did this on my legs so I've never had hair on either of them, or my armpits.Long and short of the story is ya got nothing to worry about. I like a big fluffy pillow. Rob
  20. It is a 1973 RL797LST with a ENDT866, (375hp) V8 and ten speed, (direct) Mack trans with Mack 4.17 rears. Rob
  21. It actually is my fault. I seen the post and did nothing. As it offended some, I am remorseful. However, I did not think the parties involved had access to the VIP lounge and the post was not misplaced by being there, so I let it stand until informed otherwise. I then acted what I feel appropriately.Rob
  22. I give. What is it? Rob
  23. http://eastidaho.cra...3128952049.html And yet another comes forth. Man, "Momma" is gonna due me in if I purchase another one. Rob
  24. Most likely if I can get it all checked out for the trip. I plan to be there regardless; probably with something in the form of a truck.Rob
  25. You have either a blower motor switch bad, or the blower motor "swamping" resistor bad in the air plenum. This resisitor pack is what limits the blower motor speed. Typically you lose other blower motor speeds and still have "HI" if this resistor pack is defective. With having not 12VDC to the clutch in the "HI" position of the blower motor switch, I would suspect the switch itself if you have other speeds available. The expanansion valve is not selectable for position. It is automatic in operation. Rob
