  1. Yeah, that rock was heavy I was under.Rob
  2. My understanding is the sleeper was for storage of the water hoses. It is a Kenworth sleeper so it can prolly remain. The tank slides off and a log bunk can be slid onto the frame. It was built for fire suppression, and dust control, but not really put to use. It is complete, setup, and ready to work but has been setting four years so may require some minor maintenance. All was drained of liquids so nothing should be frozen and busted.I plan to use it for much the same reasons it was built for although probably won't get involved with the fire dept's around this area. This is the truck I'm hoping to install that Neway air ride under so we'll see. Rob
  3. It's great to find younger kids that want to work. That was "grandpa's" truck and a piece of family history departing.RIP Roy. Rob
  4. Type 24/24 chambers should fit if you do not have backing plates for the brakes and they are open. Otherwise you will need to either install type 20, or go salvage yard searching for a later set of chamber mounting brackets to move the chambers inboard and longer "S" cams to tie everything together. You could also make a spacer to offset the chamber mount closer to the centerline of the truck and install longer "S" cams to make up the difference. You have offset slack adjusters now due to someone probably retrofitting the chambers currently mounted. Rob
  5. A lot of front spring pins on a Mack screw into the front hanger. The rear mounting if in a box, drop the rear cap and the assembly will need pried out but it is one piece rubber. This rubber allows for the spring to lengthen and shorten when in use.You will probably have a tough time putting parabolic springs under the front as they were not offered and are expensive to have custom made. It can be done however. Do you not have a TS-442 service manual? This book set by itself will answer near any question you would have on the older R model trucks. They are on ebay often. Rob
  6. Hi Ben, thanks for your response. After reading Tim's post in reply to the original post that was found offensive, I immediately pulled it as I certainly understand the direction it was spoken from. To be fair to all concerned however I really don't think anybody had an idea you would have access to that area of the site which is reserved for some of the "cruder" subjects. I certainly did not know this and you have my most sincere apologies for this action and it won't happen again. Knowing this membership as I do, it's quite certain they will not allow it also.Don't be afraid, ashamed, or reluctant to post up photos of your friends, family, truck progress, or whatever. The subject of the past will not repeat I'm assured so back to the same ol, same ol. This was an honest mistake and meant no disrespect to anyone. Forward we move. Rob
  7. Thanks for posting. Haven't seen all of these. Rob
  8. Looks like a round trip airfare is gonna be a good way for me to go. I can't say when I'm going to get away but do you think a weekend is long enough to get things catagorized? I know there is a lot to go through. Has Ray departed yet? Rob

Mesmerizing. It's like being in a motorboat drifting on the ocean blue. Rob
  10. I think I've heard of that trans but never physically seen one myself. Never was around any B models smaller than a B-42 however.Rob
  11. I have a 50X100 addition for the shop I never erected with the main building. It might need to go up.Rob
  12. I can't get broke free from work long enough to plan out a long distance trip, and make it happen. Was planning to fly out and drive back then a 35 ton "chiller" ruptured it's side flooding a building up north. I got called into that mess and we are replacing the complete unit with a dual 50 ton unit to allow for future expansion. This hauling just happened to fall into place at the right time so just "get it done".Rob
  13. This kinda fell into place without effort. Thought I had updated everybody about it. I'm tied up in Chicago refitting a chiller and going to It joins the other three around here. Two more brought this way and all is good.Rob
  14. I like the stainless filler panels on the Titan but in the photo they look like they need a little better alignment under the cab? I think I can see a gap at the rear? Is this panel not attached to the cab and rigid frame mounted? Rob
  15. Sounds like a stuck thermostatic expansion valve, or clogged orifice tube to me. Either one of these should be replaced as mechanical valves can stick from non use, and orifice tubes have a very fine screen on their inlet that clogs as the compressor ages due to normal wear. It is not kicking the clutch in on the compressor due to the low side safety switch not being satisfied. This has to be cheated to enable the compressor to keep running. This switch is incorporated to allow the system to not chew itself apart when low on refrigerant and low refrigerant, no oil circulation. I'd get hold of an International dealer with your serial number. They can pinpoint where the expansion device is located. Rob
  16. Tell the family I said hello, and thanks. Also tell them I name all my trucks and have cristened this one "Roy". It is going to a good home. Thanks for all the help. Rob
  17. Did that several years ago; she still doesn't feel a thing except a little "tickle"; Even dry.Rob
  18. Those latch kits for the hood are less than $35.00 per side brand new and include the raggedy assed rusty looking part the photo depicts. I'd replace them before the internal spring lets go in the original latches; but that is just the way I'd do it. Rob
  19. That is just one of my special secretions I am so well known for.Rob
  20. All "Momma" does is laugh hysterically when I try to give her something.Rob
  21. You need vapors? Put your tractor beam on me. I'll give you vapors you will never forget.Rob
  22. Oh my. The trauma of having to pilot such a thing. But, if not for all the safety and emmissions reduction items installed onto that "jewel of the highway", you could have seriously been injured.Glad you are ok. I for one, believe you are a changin your ways and will no longer allow any bullshit to permeate your stellar and exemplary lifestyle. Rob
