  3. Those lines are different from a truck due to the exhaust box mounted up top. This of course is due to mounting configuration. I have seen shops make replacement lines using original fittings and seamless high strength tubing. The key is "seamless" tubing which will need anealed to be formed. A good quality high silver bearing solder would also be needed to affix the parts together. In your application is salt water intrusion a consideration? The engine looks to be in a compartment by itself? Salt and vibration is what I've seen mostly harm injection lines over time. If your's are not subject to salt spray, I'm not sure if there is enough concern to justify the cost of replacements. This is just an out loud thought however. I have seen "generic" retrofit lines available but it's been a while. I would be glad to look around for you however. Rob

When digital cameras were first becomming popular and affordable I mostly went with Kodak as the software was very easy to use in comparison to others. My first Kodak gave out after about 6000 photos of wrecked cars and it was kinda expensive, $399.00 at Circuit City. After a couple of them I went with a "ruggedized" Nikon and it was a good camera but didn't hold up too long under the tandem of a carrier in the shop. Bought a Canon and have stayed with them since. They are slower to clock the images through their software internal to the camera than others, but usually take good photos. All cameras are quite cheap now that they are so mainstream.Your "Cannon" has nothing to do with a camera. Rob

Well I don't know how to pronounce her last name, but when sounded out it certainly sounds like she needs to check out your "Cannon" as your photos are blurry.Rob
  7. Hi Gary, you can use high pressure braided line in your application but they will be expensive. They really would need to be the exact length in comparison to each other. I've seen several farmers in my area rob lines from one diesel engine and install on another by bending to make fit and it always is wrong. Getting the correct lines for the older engines can be tough as time takes it's toll on these items.I think dual braid lines would be strong enough for the application but the physical size may impose problems for you as they will be much larger than original. Can you post up a photo of what you have? We may be able to salvage up some lines if they are somewhat common? Rob
  8. When you mention "flexible" lines, do you mean of a braided composition as to form your own line runs, or the pre bent steel lines as original equipment on the engine for spares? I ask as the lines are length matched to each other for precision timing of the injection cycle and forming your own lines is not in your best interest.Rob

I got a brand spanky new Canon 1200 series. It was only about $89.00 to the door with a 4GB memory card and it does take pretty good photos. I destroy cameras just about once a year so can't justify spending a bunch on them. That Kw was gone yesterday. I was wondering what the coroner's van was doing at the airport........ Rob

Why participate if unhappy? Is this just to provoke a response? Life, and the site goes on with all personality's and all are welcome. There are many more content and enjoy participating than unhappy here so I see no reason to "shake anything up".You offer nothing tangible to work with in your response. I ask you to clarify you displeasure and instead you relay conflicting innuendos which I put forth. I challenge you to offer something of substance to better the site for all concerned; so evaluation can commence. This subject is not to cease with a "one better" response. I'd like an answer to work on a problem if one exists. Rob

    Still working:

He was still tying down when I snapped the photos. It left with chains front and rear. The driver did mention that trailer was heavy and shouldn't have been being pulled by the Mack as the tractor was heavy also. It was a short run so he took it....... The same trailer and it's brother were back the next day grabbing another load of the pilings. These trucks were both a Pete, and a KW, and I doubt either made it back to base without an emergency phone call........Rob

So you are stating you don't like the direction the site has taken? We have humor, we have serious, we have derogatory, we have contemporary, and we have a mixture of nearly everything in between. Please clarify your displeasure. Rob

Be sure and keep me abreast cause I'll come "hang" with you guys.Don't think you're gonna find a better Mack devoted website than right here. Simply stated; "The best there is, ever was, and ever will be". Rob.
  14. I'm working with a screen printer for electronic replacement head assemblies. These are to look original from the outside, but modern on the inside. I'm running into trouble getting bezels stamped cost effective at this point. The electronics part is already satisfied. You are very correct in there are not many repair facilities around any longer. Speedometer, and tach cables started disappearing in the very early 1980's and were practically gone in the 1990's. One of my first paying jobs was rebuilding and recalibrating automotive instruments. Rob
  15. Be a lot of money to ship to Australia for you wouldn't it mate?Rob
  16. There is a small "switcher" engine in St. Louis that has a four cylinder two stroke Detroit Diesel in it and it looks exactly like a 4-71 but much larger in every proportion. The valve cover is almost twice as wide and long but again is near perfect in proportioning. I thought it was a 4-149 for years till I seen one of those engines and they are smaller than this thing is.Rob
  17. If you are in Australia, why does your link address US trucks?Rob
  18. Could probably install a later model Spicer 6+1 trans out of a medium duty International also. They had a pretty fair overdrive with a low gearset. Rob

  22. It is mainly geared toward Mack but with that motor under the hood I'm certain you would fit in. Swing by my place and we'll throw a couple trucks on the trailer to offset the fuel costs it if will work.Rob
