  1. Must be one of them silly assed "U" models admiring itself in the mirror cause those things don't roll over on the right; only to the left.Kickstand is unneeded in the dillema/application you are experiencing. Rob
  2. I'd use some either 8018, or 9018 rod to weld them up and this area will have a harder wear surface than original. You could use hardfacing rod but that is expensive.I'm certain I'll be in the same boat as soon as I finish with my trailer. You could have "Axle Surgeons" true the pin for precision as they are not really that out of line in pricing. Of course knowing the local owner may have something to do with that....... Rob
  3. If the hanger has not broken, you can probably put a new pin into it. To be safe, I'd pull the spring out and get a look as the bushings are probably beat out and need replaced also in the spring eye. Lack of grease is the culprit here till fatigue finally caused the breakage.Rob
  4. I would have because I'm not always looking for the perverse.Rob
  5. Found it. Rob
  6. Use a piston wrist pin for the rounded surface if you don't have a ball end micrometer.I used to do the same thing Ron and you are "spot on" with the advice. I've seen several engines that used differing sets of liners too and some never being rebuilt so each needs to measured before ordering replacements unless the block is to be bored. Rob Rob

  8. I've been tied up with large capacity air conditioning problems at a couple of facilities. Haven't heard back from the folks with the transmissions yet an am going to follow up later today.Rob

All three of those cars went for a very high dollar at the time and to a worthy private collection. I don't regret the sale at all. Adjusted for inflation I didn't realize all that much less for them than their respective value(s) now.The AAR had a brass plate signed by Dan Gurney himself affixed to the dash. I don't know if he ever drove that car or the story behind it, but supposedly it was authentic. One of these days I'll roll the car out of the garage. I've never been one to work on my own stuff very often.
  10. Empty, just like a B-61 with manual steering. Don't know about loaded but my A-40 when loaded is a handfull and can cause a guy to strain his milk..........Rob
  11. I love it when you whisper in my ear. Melts all that wax and grease out.Rob

Two of them actually but one was wrecked. It was an ex hemi car. The one I drove was a 440 four barrel. The AAR was a 340 six barrel, (three two barrels).I still have my 68 Barracuda Formula "S" car with a 340 and four speed. Think my son was conceived in the back of that car so I'll never get rid of it.

I should have kept mine. I had a factory 4 speed, bench seat Superbird, (white and black, silver/black tuxedo interior) and a 70 AAR Barracuda, (4 speed, yellow and black in color, with black interior). Both cars were completely original and had never been apart or damaged.Neither drove for shit in comparison to today's automobiles; but they were straight line fast. Rob
  14. I have but it was several years ago. I think the truck was early 1990's. Can't tell you if it were original or not but was a 6-71T with a cast aluminum rocker cover.Uncle Rob
  15. I hope the state of the american economy, and the recent passage of this "Obamacare" bullshit is enough to wake some of these dumb sons a bitches up we have for voters and get them to the polls against the current regime. Even small business which is the core of what built this country is struggling to stay afloat due to crushing overhead as cost of operation. Far too many are now gone unable to endure. There is no stop to this garbage with the current political players in power. Rob

  24. Remember from basic physics that you cannot compress a liquid. This is the basics of hydraulic power. If you start dumping liquid oil into the suction side of the compressor, the discharge valves will be history as soon as the compressor starts turning. You have no idea what you are starting with so best to start anew to avoid problems. Mixing oil types is never a good thing to do. Rob
