  1. That was quite a burn out. How fast were you going by the end of his property? I only took a few pictures this year.
  2. Cal Little sold his last Ford pickup with about 100,000 miles on it to a friend. I don't remember if it had a problem but the back two spark plugs couldn't be reached. He took it to the dealer and was told the cab had to be removed to change them.
  3. I think you are going to end up with a show truck with all the work you are putting into it. It is a shame for the grey truck though. 41chevy: I love mayo on my hotdogs and I love my 4070A with a 400 big cam. Mike
  4. I am pretty sure this truck is an 85LS and only a couple serial numbers higher than mine. It broke my heart to see it burnt up.
  5. My grandfather delivered Model A Fords from the Chester PA plant. How much of a vehicle he got depended on what he was delivering. He often sat on a wooden box while delivering truck chassis. They gave him money for the return train ride, but if he hitched a ride he could keep the money. One time he was delivering a truck chassis in the winter. It slid off the road nose first into a snow bank up to the windshield. He got pulled out and continued on his way without a scratch on it. Mike
  6. I have driven my 25 AC at 25 mph and that is fast enough without a windshield. I don't know how motorcyclist do it. It has the brake booster so it stops ok. I haven't had to stop in an emergency. It has pneumatic tires but they were put on in 1936 so I don't want to be too hard on them.
  7. I feel your pain. I am no good at selling things either. I have sold a few things and have regretted it before they left. One I bought back. I had two I sold that I knew were being parted out. That was even worse. I didn't want them but didn't want them cut up. I could never do it as a business. You will be happy when you get the Autocar back looking nice though.
  8. $2500 in Baltimore. http://baltimore.craigslist.org/cto/5759494481.html
  9. I got seals for my A model and L model fire trucks from Associated truck parts. They had not problem getting them. I took in the old which had leather in them and they crossmatched them. I don't know if they are a local chain or if they are in your area. Mike
  10. From the name I assume you are in Trenton NJ. My father has a bunch of parts he would be willing to sell. I am in Boyertown Pa. I will ask him prices if you are interested. Mike.
  11. Not earning it's keep but this is along the road close to me. I assume it is for sale but there is no information. It is pretty rough.
  12. Please put me on the waiting list. How far down am I? Mike.
  13. Wow. That sucks. Glad you pulled it off. Hope I am never in the same situation.
  14. The radiator I the superpumper f model is out of a former ralph g smith truck. I lent it to andy Leider several months ago so they could get it running. Wish I could go.
  15. Pretty neat. Any pictures of them hanging?
  16. Wow! It is hard to say congratulations but you know what is best for you. Glad it got a good home. So what is the next project?
  17. No. It is nice young woman. I met her yesterday.
  18. I am the ATCA representative to the Mack Museum advisory board and was there today for a meeting. Afterward Doug Maney gave me a tour of the archives and did a demo of the build records. I asked him to use RL763LST1689. It came off the line on 5/5/67 and was sold to Pacific Transport by Idaho Truck Sales Company. I took a picture of the microfiche but it won't let me post it. Hope this helps. Mike.
  19. Neat truck. The small MACK letters on the hood shows it was made in the early 70's or earlier but with a serial number of 1689 I can't imagine it was built in '66 or '67. It was the 689th RL 763 so not even an early RL763. Still a neat truck though. Mike.
