It is a very sad day. A friend died when tower one fell. He had a two year old son and other son who was born on September 5, 2001. My heart goes out to the families of all the victims. Mike.
  2. Nice combo. My father drove a Crackerbox for a few years. He hated the thing and the Detroit that powered it. I love them and want one. He thinks I'm crazy. He found the one Cliff Hicklen restored. I was at his house when he called Cliff about it. I was really mad that he didn't tell me first. Mike.
  3. Can you bring it to Mack Day or Trucktoberfest?
  4. Welcome to the forum. That is a neat truck. You probably already know they only made A models for 4 years. They only built 44 45A's according to Harvey Eckart's book. Your truck is very rare. It would be a shame to remove the fire body. As for the brakes, it depends when they were done, they could have gone bad already. I have a 405A that I did the whole brake system 9 years ago and it doesn't work right now again. Good luck. Mike
  5. Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have some neat stuff. Let's see some pictures. Mike.
  6. Pretty neat stuff. The R doesn't look as big in the picture as they do in person. Tom Spencer had on all done up. It was the first tractor I ever saw with the pony motor start. The other engines look big in the pictures. They must really be big in person.
  7. My parents will be there as usual. I will be home taking care of their pets.
  8. Of course we want to know more.
  9. As had the president before him.
  10. Will royalties really have to be paid to GMC? The park is already named Denali and there are a lot of businesses around the park with the Denali name on them. On would think that GMC would not be able to enforce that. Kind of like trademarking the word Pennsylvania and then not letting anyone else use the name again. Mike
  11. A lot of places on this continent had names before all of us immigrants came and changed them. It seems right for the people who lived somewhere the longest to get to name it, not some random people that annexed the territory a few decades ago.
  12. She's a hotty. Probably aged more gracefully than your other girlfriends from that time period. Glad to hear you are back together.
  13. There you go Vinny. You wanted a dump truck.
  14. Nice truck. Does it have the tag under the Husky that says 50th Anniversary?
  15. Nope, not my father's. His is a six cylinder and has square headlights. This truck looks like it said Ayers on the side who goes by Jetterstrucks or something like that. He did sell a superliner to a guy in florida who hauled water with it.
  16. Nice work. Is that the same for a B? If so, will you make me some?
  17. I wish this and the B61LT were closer. I would love to have both of them. I would really love the DC200, but that is out of my price range. Good luck. Mike
  18. How many trucks did these guys buy out of Maine?
  19. The second auction is the Same day as Mack Day. Most of the Mack guys in that area will be in Lititz. I have to find the brochure.
  20. I have JC Taylor for insurance and they made me sign something that said I would not pull trailers or haul anything with my trucks. Mike
  21. Where's it at now? I've been looking for one of these. Just kidding. Good luck.
  22. It looks like very rewarding work. Good job.
  23. Congratulations to Don. Very well deserved. While Mike Kitsock might seem like an of choice a trip to the Schuylkill Historical Fire Society Museum should be able to change most people's minds. Mike
