I was there two years ago. Dennis opened the doors and let me roam around. I do not remember an AC with the name Cristi on it. Most of the nice trucks have gone to Mahan's. Dennis said the saying around there is "anything with paint is gone". He does still have a few nice things. I spent a long time wondering around the two large boneyards. That was a lot of fun. I took a bunch of pictures. I will check for a Cristi truck. I thought I had posted some of them, but maybe not. Mike

So what are your plans for the 758? Mike

Dog pound stole my truck

It looks great. Nice to see someone still does hand lettering. -
I'm in. Does anyone know how much it would take?

That issue is from 2013!

Nice 758. What are your plans for it? My father has one that is off getting painted like yours. It was white when he got it, but will be red with black fenders and radiator shell. Unfortunately you will have a hard time finding that white plastic grill insert. Mike

It's between Pennsburg and Green Lane.

I have to work until 3. It is only a few miles away so will stop by if I get out on time. Not coming. Across 78. All back roads for me. Mike

wheel cylinders and master cylinder
yarnall replied to antique61cmodel's topic in Air Systems and Brakes
I agree with FWD. The other option is getting them rebuilt. I send mine to White Post Restoration. They sleeve them and rebuild them. It is more expensive than new if you can find them but they have a life time guarantee. I don't know whose life time but hopefully not the former owner because he died a few years ago. White Post Restoration. One Old Car Drive PO Drawer D White Post, VA 22663 540-837-1140 You can download the form off their web site and mail them to them. www.whitepost.com I wouldn't use the postal service because they lost the wheel cylinders and master cylinder off my 405A. I had them insured for $800 but it took me a long time to find replacements to have rebuilt. Mike -
I sent you two without a response. Do you have pictures? Are there any problems with he motor besides being apart? Mike

That is the way to do it. Nice work. -
Glad to hear it is sold. I pushed for his guy to buy it. If you edit the post you can switch the header to sold. Looks like a great truck. My father might be down to pick it up. Mike.

A hood would be easy. A cab is possible. Fenders are impossible. A guy in State College PA parts of an FWD fire truck with an R model cab for sale for $900. The cab is supposed to be pretty nice. Wrong front end though. Let's see pictures of what you are working on. I have several Internationals. Mike.

A weekend of Macks
yarnall replied to yarnall's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Mini Mack, I mean Ron, the RL just fit. He couldn't turn to hard of the tires got into the frame of T94. Paul, Your father was correct. You can never have too many sheds. I could fill a building twice the size I have. Jim, The single axle CH's came from Del Val Material, or something like that. There is a plaque on the dash. They had a third that was sold long ago. Brian, Yes we also got an '89 R 688 from Reinert's. It had been a Weyerhauser truck. It is a nice truck but I hate the color. I also got a 1961 Chevy Spartan C89, a 1967 International R196 and a 1970 Cadillac Fleetwork Brogham from Noot Reinert. If I had the money I would have bought more from them. Mike -
There were literally hundreds of thousands of them made. They made them in the US and in England, maybe other placed too. I am no Ford fan. They are pretty cool though. There have been lots of books written about them. I have one. I'm sure there is plenty of information on the intraweb for the looking. Mike

I had a whole weekend off work and no shows to go to so my father and I messed around with the trucks. We have been slowly moving stuff out of the yard where my father used to work. We had accumulated quite a bit there over the years. My father got this R686 quite a few years ago. It was pulled there with a Big Ben and set on its front wheels. We lifted the front end and put some tires on before dragging it out of the mud. We had hoped to drag it to a buddy's house but the rear brakes were locked up. The motor is long gone. I put batteries in the R685, checked the oil and gave the priming pump a few pumps and it started right up. It was started 2 years ago so figured it would go. The radiator has a hole in it so I didn't let it run long. What do you think of putting linseed oil on this? So it looked like we actually accomplished something we hooked my father's RL to this trailer and pulled it to another buddy's place. It is full of Mack parts that I bought at Smith's Auction. Hopefully I'll fix the trailer up some day and pull it behind my LFT. That was enough for Saturday but we were at it again on Sunday. Hard to believe but next year my CH will be 25 years old and eligible for antique tags in PA. This truck came from the same company as my father's superliner and was the truck my Father drove daily for several years. It was stuffed in a corner in the pole barn so we got it out so could was more accessible to clean it up. The CH on the right is my father's. I had kicked it out the pole barn several years ago. It was sitting under a tin roof. We rented some space in a warehouse for some other trucks so this will fit in again for now. It is the sister truck to mine. My father bought it in 05 and used it as his commuter until the roads got icy and he was sliding all over the place. He loaded it up with parts and parked it and hasn't used it since. Only 14 months till that is an antique. Mike

Oliver HG42 - Charging 8 volt battery
yarnall replied to markpwhit's topic in Tractors and Equipment
I use a 12 volt battery in my HG 68 and it is supposed to have a 6 volt. It spins the starter a lot faster. It doesn't have any light bulbs to worry about so no big deal. My father had me get an 8 volt battery for my 1953 Chevy 4100, but I didn't use it much and it died. I charged it with a 6 volt charger with no trouble before its eventual death. If you look at the voltimeter on a 12 volt truck when the battery is charging it will often be at 13 or 14. My father's Brockway 758 won't start unless it says at least 13 volts. 12 won't do it. I have always been told not to jump a 6 volt vehicle with a 12 volt because it will mess up the 12 volt. I do not know why though. I have never tried it. Mike -
Congrats on the purchase. I would have loved to have the truck, but the price was a too much for a hobby truck. I hope it treats you well and that you treat it well. Please post some pictures of your other trucks and this one when you get it cleaned up. Mike.

I tried to buy one of those a few years ago. They were made in New Jersey. They use a Model T as the starting point and later Model A. I will have to keep looking. Mike

Count me in for a hoagie and a T shirt. Did you make any shirts that will fit Wes? It will be his first Mack Day. -
This one belongs to a guy from New Jersey. He has about 4 of them. One is really nice and was I display at the Boyertown Museum a few years ago. Mike

Unfortunately I am not holding out about the G733. It belongs to a friend of my mechanic's. He bought the B83 about 12 years ago. It looked great at that time. He got a GMC 660 4x4 wrecker at the same time. They have both gone down hill since then. Had I known this G model was still up there I would have tracked it down. I had a good time yesterday. I think they did too. They didn't even look at the non-Macks at my house. They are good company. Today they were heading to the gift shop at the Mack Plant then to Cohen Brothers salvage yard in Downingtown, PA. Then on to R. L. Jackson's salvage yard in Maryland. Mike

Being in the land of the Pennsylvania Dutch, Dutchmen are not particularly uncommon unless they are from Holland. Leon and Rene from the Netherlands came over for Trucktoberfest and Mack Day. Today they got a tour of John Haines' collection from Art Cooper then they met me at my mechanic's place where the H613 and B66 are getting worked on. This G733 was out front. This B83 has been posted on here before. It is at the same place. It was in way better shape when it arrived. Here is the B66. I couldn't find a better EN460 so this one is getting bored. We went to look at my junk next. You've seen enough pictures of them. Next we went to Baro's where my father works. They run an all Mack fleet. Haines and Kibblehouse have several divisions next to Baro's so we walked over there and checked them out. Lastly we went to a place where I have two R models and two F models. All are pretty much junk. . Mike
