  1. I just heard a story about him on NPR Monday. I had never heard of him before. He made $19,000 a year playing major league ball. Nice truck. Mike
  2. I have a fuel pump off a B85 and also a 5 speed transmission. I do not know what model 5 speed, but can find out. Make me an offer. I am in Pennsylvania. The truck above is in Kentucky or I would have bought it. It would cost too much to ship. Mike
  3. That A54 belongs to Jim Widman. I have the serial number around somewhere for the other A model. It had belonged to Tom Zacney. Mike
  4. Here is my A20H. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/gallery/image/10003-mack-a20h-1844/ Here is my A40. My 405A is in the middle. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/gallery/image/10999-macungie-2012/. I can get you better pictures of any of them. Mike
  5. Nice trucks have come from much less. If you are going to restore it you really have your work cut out for you. It is a neat truck. Good luck. Mike
  6. Yes it is a Spartan. I took the emblems off of it to compound and polish it. Mike
  7. Bring him up to my house before Macungie. I'll get him a stool to stand on. Mike
  8. My father and I have gotten to know the owner of these trucks, Stan. Nice guy. Before he bought his Superliner he tried to buy my fathers. He said he was going to make it really nice. My father told him it was nice enough the way it was and it was not for sale. He has managed to make due without my father's truck. I think her had another truck at South Bend, too. 9. Maybe I'll run up there and look at the MH. I could use some interior parts if they are any good. What is the name of the place? Mike
  10. This guy works this truck daily. It has been repowered with a 237 out of a CF. It is great to see it going down the road. Here it is parked in the lot at my work. We get him to do a lot of work for us. The B model definitely plays into the decision making process of who will get the job. Mike
  11. I'll buy it if you don't. It would fit in nicely with my H model too. Mike
  12. You can call the Mack museum to find out the year while you are waiting on the rest of the information. It is best to know the correct year when you change the title because PennDOT will change the year when they are changing the title for no additional charge. It will cost you if you try to change it later. I have a 1960 B422T that is serial number 19070 so yours is probably a 1959 or 1960. Good luck and have fun with it. Mike
  13. Neat truck. Looks like a Fageol hood on it. Mike
  14. I hope to be there one or both days. I have never been to the auction. I have gotten some good stuff at the sunday flea market though. I got a Mack extinquisher a few years ago. Mike
  15. Congratulations. Post more pictures and some specs. And lets see more of your new MH too. Mike
  16. This truck belonged to a guy named JT. He was either from Philly or Jersey. He died of a heart attack about 10 years ago and wanted George to get his truck. I have a picture of it on the trailer heading north. It was claimed that IH did not make sleeper V model's, but here is one. I have seen other pictures since I heard that claim so they obiously did. It just isn't available in the surviving paperwork from the period. Here is a link to my V model semi-open cab. 549 gas V8, 5 speed, hydraulic brakes, 85' Peter Pirsche aerial. It is a married piece that served Reading PA. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/gallery/image/9715-ih-v190-tiller/ Mike
  17. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/gallery/image/11271-dsc02893/ Here is a link to one from a Smith Truck. Ron put this in his ED. If the picture is not good enough I can take a better picture of mine. Mike
  18. I would not pay $16000 for an RL unless it was very nice. Oxidation on the frame could be a major problem. The cabs can rust very bad. Who knows the condition of the engine now. My father bought a 77 RL712L from California a few years ago. It has a 6 cylinder in it. The asking price was $6000. He paid less than that, but I am not sure how much. It is a good running truck and very solid. There is no rust on the cab and probably never was. There is almost no oxidation on the frame. The tires are bad and mismatched, though and the interior is a little tired. He had to pay $2500 or $3000 to get it to Pennsylvania. So for half the price he had a non-V8 RL. The V8 adds value, but can add a lot of headaches in the future if it is getting worked. Definitely go and look it over very well before you buy it. Pictures can be very deceiving. If you fall in love, buy it. If not, I would look for similar trucks and see how they compare for the price/value. Mike
  19. post pictures of what you need. I have some off of a B model that might work. Mike
  20. Yes, that RL is my father's. It is an RL712LST. It has a 300plus and a 9 speed(?). He fell in love with it in California and had it shipped back. I am not a fan of the yellow and black paint job. You'll have to talk to him about it. Maybe he will leave it to you in his will. Mike
  21. Cool truck. Let's see the other treasures. Mike
  22. Thanks everyone. I actually committed to buy the ch a couple years ago.but only paid for it at Christmas. They needed money so I bought the R model to keep it from getting worked. I gave them the option to buy it back at the.same price when things are going better. Mike, How big is your building? We'll be over tomorrow after church. The wheel horse is a 1055. The motor has been replaced. They'll get it back with the R model or sooner if they want it. It seems crazy to think that that ch will be 25 years old in 2 years. I love the look now but I was disappointed when the company started switching over from all R models. I will try to post pictures from that era. Mike
  23. I have a scissors hoist under a 9 foot bed on a B42. Call me if you are interested. Mike 610 764. 8283
  24. Thanks Vinny. SM54, Thanks. My father's Superliner went to Florida once a week, was washed and put back in the garage. They lost the run and the driver in 1995 so it didn't come back out until my father bought it as a show truck in about 2004. Leverole, I don't know where I will put them. They are sitting in front of the pole barn. They garage they were in was rented out. I sold the lowboy they had to bullhusk. They have a few junk van trailers left. Mike
