  1. As of last Saturday nothing was final. I meant to call the Mack Museum today, but forgot. It was Dale Guth who told me about it. He is the guy who gathers all the information requested by Mack collectors. I will try to call Don Schumaker at home tomorrow. Then I'll get the story. It seems like too short of notice to me. Mike
  2. A truck show and a parade around the test track oldest to newest followed by other makes. I don't know if they will be able to pull it off. Mike
  3. Thanks. The yellow one and the F model next to it are mine. The others belong to friends. The B 42 at the far end is the nicest of all of them.
  4. They changed the fenders around 1948. My truck was built in 1947 (85LS1101) and has the old style fenders. Harvey Eckert calls these high crown fenders. You can easily see the difference when you compare them to the fenders on the truck above. These are the same fenders as used on the commercial L models. The others were only used on the fire trucks. I do not think they are not the same as were used on E and A models, but are of similar design. Mike
  5. I went to the notary today to change some titles on things I sold and asked about the use of period license plates on antique vehicles. I knew the law was passed, but did not know when it took affect. It is in affect now. You can use an old license plate in good condition for the same year as the vehicle to license a vehicle in the years 1909 or so to 1975. That is not the big new though. The big news, for those who do not know it, is that you are no longer required to submit pictures of the vehicle to get antique license. That means you do not need to cover up any lettering, gold leave, rust... It was like christmas for me. Here are before and after pictures of what I had to do to my F model to get license. Mike
  6. I have 2 R685's for sale, but they are in PA. That is probably not worth the transportation fee. Mike
  7. October 20. I was talking to Dale Guth from the Mack Museum the other day at Duryea Day and he said they are thinking of having a customer appreciation day at the Mack Museum on Oct 27. I don't know when they will make up their minds since that date is drawing near. Mike The only big trucks at the show and all Macks.
  8. This is my dream truck. The F models are not bad either. Mike
  9. Very neat truck. Definitely worth restoring or just saving as is. When it was made Mack used the model to designate the engine. A B81 should have had a naturally aspirated 673 in it. A B813 would have a 673 with a turbo. A B815 would have an 864 in it. I think a B83 would have a Cummins in it. Someone on here would know better than me. No one is calling you a liar. There are a lot of people who just don't know the specifics. The paper work you It would seem that Mack made a mistake on the desination of this truck if they sent it out of the factory as a B815 with a Cummins in it. Can you scan the page with the engine details on it so I can see? It would be very interesting if Mack actually did this. Again, nice truck. I wish it was closer to PA. Mike
  10. I haven't seen it in person, but if it isn't too rusty and it runs ok I think it is.worth 5000 with mo problem. I would be interested if.i had any money left. Mike
  11. Looking good. It will be ready for your grandfather to drive you to the first day of school. Mike
  12. Ben and Tim, You've got a really neat truck. Are you going to leave the lettering on it? I love the look of a non-restored survivor. It should be a lot of fun. Will you have it at Mack Day? Mike
  13. I called last night. He was at the tractor.pulls. 1989, 3406 Cat, 13 speed Fuller, Rockwell rear with 4.11 gears,11.00x24.5rubber about 70%. He bought it in 2007 in California and drove it home. Asking $11,000. Seems like a nice guy. Says the cab is rock solid but the interior is about 5/10. I want it but i am not at all in the truck buying market. Mike
  14. I've got a lot of good R model doors if nothing works out. Mike
  15. I thought I had scanned more pictures from this place, but this is the only other one I can find. It is a pretty big truck. As for that B61, I will find out if it is still there. They were asking more than I thought it was worth. Mike
  16. Here are some pictures of the Macks that were in the warehouse in Cressona, PA. I got my 85LS and 405A out of here. Another member just bought an 85LS out of here. I don't know how much is left. A lot has been sold. I got my trucks in 2005. At least 8 trucks went to Australia. 1988 R685 tractor with 18 miles on it. The owner bought 2 and never used this one. It was sold for about 40,000 in 2005 and was immediately advertised in Wheels of Time for 65 or 80. 1947 Autocar, 1947 Mack 85LS, Maxim. Mack type 45. I think this truck is still there. Mack AK6. This truck is gone, but could probably be bought from the new owner. B61. I think it was sold, but not sure. B67 titled as a B66. This truck used a B67 chassis and B66 front sheet metal and title. It has a restored moving van trailer too. This truck is now owned by the same guy who has the AK6. I will post more pictures later. Mike
  17. It is for carrying people. It has a bench along either side of it and roll-up back door. You can see a better picture of it in my gallery. I loved that place. It blew my mind. It just kept going. A lot of the stuff is gone now. A bunch of stuff went to Australia. Mike
  18. That is quite an assortment. The IH is a Fleetstar 2000. The cabover mack is an MB or M something. The cabover without a grill is a Pete. I don't know anything about Dodges. The White might be a 9000. It has the corporate(Autocar driver) cab. Thanks for posting the pictures. Mike
  19. How about this one? It's a lot cheaper than anything they have in that warehouse. Mike
  20. Sure do. What are you looking for? They sold the 88 R model with 18 miles. I can pm it to you tomorrow.
  21. I want it. Has anyone called yet?
  22. No steps. Just the bumper. No depressions where it bolts. I have a 23'4" chassis from B85f1153.
  23. Not many factory single axle Superliners made. I wonder if it is original. Mike
  24. Wow! That looks great. Way to go. I think I hate you too. Did you say it has air brakes? If Mack mhe9 can't do it look up Daryl Gushee from Maine. He is an aths member and also does.that.for a living. Mike
