  1. Yea i had to put some money when i first bought it . i'm a little annoyed at the shop i brought it to . I asked them to do a look over of the air brakes and they completely misses the huge lead. And hat city i'm going to replace in the am. I needed a truck to move fill and plow on the county roads during the winters. I got this thing for cheap and its actually in really good condition besides a few things.
  2. Hello All I just bought a 2000 mack 688 rd dump truck . while driving i noticed when i push the brakes the pressure drops in the tank rapidly. i went back to the yard and parked. when i push the brakes i hear a loud air lead. i traced it to the air relay . when i push the brakes a lot of air comes out from the side of the air relay . i was wondering if this is a bleed port of something. its kinda hard to see the whole valve so I'm just trying to get some info before i remove it. also i can't hear any other leaks while this thing bleeds cause its loud. thanks
  3. Thanks for the reply . It's a single axle .
  4. Hey guys, I want to buy a mack 600 from a location far from where i live and I want to tow it home . Does anyone know how much a Mack R 600 cab and chassis. 250 (with intercooler) and Allison 645 Auto transmission. Im looking for the weight of this truck. Its a cab and chassie only. I want to tow it home with a f-550 dump truck and a beaver tail trailer. Any help would be appreciated.
  5. thanks for all the replies. i'll be walking away from this truck, far away.
  6. So this could already be a topic but I'm in a rush. I've been looking for a 10 wheel dump truck and finally found one. I located a mack 686 which has a brand new motor and new tranny. Truck is in great condition until I looked at the frame and thankfully found that the frame between the rear drive axle is cracked length horizontally where the top of the rail bends inward. This is on both sides. I'm asking all you professionals on here can it be welded ? If not , is it cost effective to get both new rails or just the last 8 feet. I called pg adams and they asked if the frame curves under the cab and I had no idea. Like I said, the truck is in really great shape besides the frame and I can get it cheap. Any insight would be grateful.

  11. hey guys i'm having some issues with the wiring on my 1968 mack r . looks like a animal got under the dash and ate some wires so i'm trying to replace everthing. i was wondering if any one had wiring diagrams for the harness under the dash that does the headlights and blinkers and such. the distribution blocks are numbered so i would be good to know what each numbered post goes to. thanks in advance
