  1. Yes, pulling hills. You cannot shift it up or down. Next truck I got was a 350 Thermadyne nine speed. It was a lot easier to deal with.bob

  4. I didn’t really care for that thing I was happy to say goodbye to it traded it in in 1986. It would’ve probably been a little easier on flat ground. Pulling a lot of grades. It was nothing but a pain in the ass. Bob

  6. From what I remember, you could move the auxiliary low to high anytime during shifting the main box, and everything would go up a gear… bob

  12. I think the last time I saw one of those round knobs was in a school bus we used to ride in last time I was in it was 1966 diesel bus and had one of those in it I was only 10 I had no idea what it was… I do remember the steering wheel was huge ha ha… bob

  14. It was the other way around dinner table with royal Bostonians step daughter and her goofy husband and thier overly spoiled daughters thier both one sided libs I couldn’t say anything . Don’t even go with the wife anymore to visit them but I also have a perfect excuse,,,, someone has to stay here and dog watch
  15. I talked to a guy over 30 years ago at Oakland California Mack dealer he was from Australia.. he told me it was cheaper to buy a brand new R model here and have all the driver components changed to the right side and transported back home than it was to just buy one in Australia… like wow man
  16. Thanks for that Brocky me and the wife are doing a shop cruise to Alaska in August last year of truck driving,,, I’m going to squeeze in both trips …. After September I’ll have to start some sort of budget should be a 4 letter word lol … bob

  19. Oh thanks for the post. I almost missed it. Yes it does seem a little high but it’s pretty much a brand new truck go for quite a while without any issues new enough where parts are still relatively available.
  20. But great memories. In fact, I had two jobs right in Peabody Square, Tanner, city tire and United auto parts. They’re both gone.

  25. I haven’t been there in a long time, but I think you’re right about the whitehen pantry. That was not there when I lived there. In fact, the only supermarket we had in the entire town was a purity supreme
