  1. That would be a little easier to deal with than up over the engine bob
  2. You know, I think there was an episode of leave it to Beaver with one of those in it for 38 Mack seems like the Christmas story also had something like that when the kid gets his tongue stuck to the pole
  3. I understand some of the guys are telling me they’re putting these things under a camper category because of the size and Weight non-commercial. Good luck. I’m sure you’ll probably figure it out by now… Nevada has antique commercial so I don’t think I’ll have an issue but not everybody is that lucky. Bob
  4. Hell I must’ve missed that photo of all of brand new cross members beautiful job. Thanks for sharing. Bob
  5. Oh by the way that was the early years after a while I would make sure I got at least 5 1/2 to 6 hours of sleep then no problems at all and nowadays with the E logs you can’t really run around the clock anymore anyway
  6. I am assuming most of that was staged when they were pulling the guy out of the b model I was thinking my God don’t show me dead people and then I got thinking that was all filmed to make it look that way I drove nights for 40 years and I am no saint either. I have completely dozed off more than once. Luckily nothing ever came out of bed. I woke right up again.
  7. The more I think about it, it might be easier just to cut a hole in the fiberglass and pull the plate out and replace it but we’ll see what happens frankly, I’m hoping I could turn the studs and wind them out…. Bob
  8. Yes, that’s the plan Paul right now. I’m just spraying the hell out of them with WD-40 tapping them around hoping maybe I can grab a hold of us studs and work them back-and-forth really slow you know take my time stop them spray them. No big hurry. I’ll work at it for a few weeks, if not next step drill them out and try easy outs or re-tap. Not sure if you understood that steel plate is inside the fiberglass and I can’t get to it without cutting a hole and pulling the plate out and replacing it. But I’m going to try the other two ideas first I hope that makes more sense.
  9. That was excellent. Thanks for that.
  10. Certainly a lot there to work with. Good luck bud.
  11. It looks like it has a compression release. It probably does .. sucker looks pretty clean. Thanks for the post.
  12. Mostly freight trucks, so nobody really ran anything that old even then it was old ha ha… bob
  13. Not sure if I mentioned this but I have not even set in one except for one and a wrecking yard and my hometown they had a lot of big rigs. I was only around 15 years old 1971 or so even then I was thinking man this sucker is cool. Even then the turnpikes were nothing but U R and F model
  14. So it looks like I don’t really have any choices except for cutting a hole in the fiberglass to remove this chunk of steel if I wind up breaking all three screws, I am doing my best not to do that
  15. From what I can see, it’s a piece of metal tapped out because there’s two rivets on the side of it holding it in and in place at least I’m assuming that’s for the two rivets are doing clearly they put the rivets in before they glued all the pieces together. Thanks for that Larry.
  16. Hell, I think it’s gonna look like it’s ready to work.. bob
  17. Also, hats off on your fabulous work, keep them coming by friend …. Bob
  18. That was me bud asking for the interior photos that looks amazing. Thank you for that I remember way back around 1971 riding on a school bus and the seats resembled the ones in my dad’s 1970 U model I would’ve sworn they were the same exact cushions and color and design and everything else thank you so much for the photos that looks absolutely amazing interior as usual bud you are very inspirational for continuing on my DM …. Bob
  19. Well, I got almost nothing done move the vehicle in to position for more sanding… sprayed the hell out of broken bolts in nose put in 5 gallons of fresh diesel fuel sprayed another good size wasp nest in the frame and that was about it Rest of the day was spent n yard maintenance lol… Bob
  20. Here in Nevada if it hasn’t been registered in 8 years filing for a title is no issue at all … thanks for posting… bob
  21. Wow, that’s a pretty fair price. Any more of those real old pieces are getting very rare big car show we have here every year I don’t even see anything that old anymore.
  22. I’m sure I bought this up before it’s not a retaliation thing….. just plain lost interest. And as a result opened up 9 hrs on Sunday to get stuff done win win situation… bob
