    GMC. General????????? hell we didn’t even know you were old enough to remember them. ….. Fortunately, mine is all solid no suspension and steel. All I have to do is recover the cushions and I know a guy ha ha it’s always handy to know a guy lol bob

    Reply to remark I made about the older V8 go to this post. It’s pretty much what the salesman told me around 30 years ago. I was looking at a U model one salesman told me it was A early V8 and . They were more trouble than what they worth… pretty much trial and error bob .

    that’s what I thought was gonna happen around here, but I hardly did anything at all did get a lot accomplished that pretty much has to be taken care of regular business hours such as 3 doctors appointments and dump run but as you mentioned Mecho they usually turn into full time employment around here lol

    I think I saw a steering box re builder in Florida that stated they could be swapped over with slight modifications Prior to that I had never heard of it either this was a recent ad I was looking for parts for mine

    OK, I did make a noticeable difference no pictures but I was happy with what I got done and behind me now. Also came up with a couple of clever ideas for broken fiberglass down by the hinge … bob

    OK, I’m getting out there today and start some more of the grunge work. I guess I’ve been partially trying to avoid the filthy part of the whole job since I don’t wanna do it but yes, it has to be done or it’s not gonna get done by itself

    Can’t help you much I only own mine for a couple of years. It was a really good work. Truck E6 9 speed fuller. Oh, I think I remember the AC didn’t work very well. It didn’t really blow out that hard. I wound up chopping a hole in that center dashboard panel and putting in my own AC vent. It worked a lot better good luck, bud.

    I just tried to find it on google search nothing popped up….. reminded me because the actor that drove the tanker was a guest on gunsmoke I just watched maybe someone else can find it … hendries ice cream ad around 1970-71.possibly a little later. good luck bob
