  1. Yes, from what I saw it looked like all it needed was a fresh coat of paint. Basically just scratch it up and shoot it and start pulling the camper.
  2. Thanks Paul yes, it’s a nice feeling to start finally on it as I mentioned I’ve had it almost 30 years it’s mainly just been sitting around waiting for attention. I started it and moved it around. Quite a bit through the years to keep everything going about it even had it stored in two different locations through the years when I didn’t have a place to put it it doesn’t even seem like I’ve had it anywhere near that long bought it around November 1994
  3. I used to ride. We had to stay overnight halfway through day. The wind was blowing too hard going from San Diego to Reno.
  4. I think mine has those semi things they look like air tires, but there’s no valves
  5. Thanks for that I’m sure he’s in a more relaxed atmosphere now I was going to say a much better place when you’re full of fame and fortune how bad can your life be? RIP Cale… bob
  6. Yes, I probably mentioned that. I usually don’t have time to do anything at all during the week. I’m sure I’m not alone in this.
  7. I also thought it was a DM at first Glance Probably because steel nose is usually offset… bob

  10. I was thinking the same thing holy cow. This guy is not wasting any time. I didn’t realize it was gonna go about extreme.
  11. Don’t think I ever answered it’s kind of a nice looking muffler stainless steel kind of a football shape. I might try to put it on the side. Then put the chrome stack on top of it. it’s a nice neat little deal. Kind of ashamed to hide it under the truck but if I do that, I have to cut the stack and I really don’t want to do that.
  12. Wife still hasn’t mentioned kitchen cabinets so I’ll get started swapping out the transmission or pull out steering box and pump and go through both I was going to hold off on that but now the steering wheel is binding and the steering radius as lousy on the truck as it is, so it’s kind of difficult to move it around when the steering wheel keeps stopping not sure what I’m going to do next got a hold off on any more bodywork though the weather gets better. Oh yes, there’s lots of other stuff to do ha ha.
  13. Ok worked on it good part of day lines all on …got s big break in the weather ….small line was kinda ball buster couldn’t get the bottom started in ,,block end, it wouldn’t thread, kept trying and trying I was laying on a creeper. Finally, I got on top where I could barely reach it and I was able to get it threaded from the top cleaned up the oil pot wiped it completely dry should be able to finish up today.
  14. I think I could honestly say I have never seen a DM 800 with a sleeper excellent looking model. Thanks for sharing… bob
  15. No, I doubt it. I don’t think anything is anywhere near that high gear is all looked to be in pretty good shape. Frankly, I think you could just pull it all apart and clean everything up. Good luck.
  16. And yes, Tom, I like the booty
  17. I have only done one in frame I was living in the San Fernando Valley at the time and my driveway. It was 106° every day I was working on it and yes I can remember pulling automatic transmission out of a 55 Chevy wagon when I was just a teenager, it was only 17° out, ha ha now there is some talent. I wouldn’t do it now at 67.
  18. .Sorry I missed this sometimes I don’t get on here too much during the week. I wound up with another one . tractor bid situation. they did fix the transmission on the other one but now somebody else is driving it, so what I have now is absolutely fabulous I really like it and thanks for asking. This should be the last truck . I’m only going to the end of September.bob
  19. Probably doesn’t answer(YOUR) question , but I thought I’d throw this out there my Peterbilt with triple trailers flat ground it gets between six and seven pull a hill it goes right down to 2.6 ha ha at least that’s what the dashboard says if you’re looking for an average on the job, it’s usually between five and six… like these guys said, and all the depends on what you’re doing with it pretty much. Bob
  20. Hell man I would jump on that good luck bob
  21. Noticed that a while back the wheels look too small for that heavy unit… bob
  22. Yes, that’s the way it works. Sometimes it was a hell of a deal for that price. especially if he is going to use it on site I’ll never have to do anything to it, except maybe change the oil…bob
  23. Doesn’t even look like it needs anything. Thanks for that…. Bob
