Almost missed that last post that’s very interesting since as I mentioned I don’t see any at all anymore around here and yes I do miss the days when most of the rigs looks like that gorgeous R model First Mack I ever drove looked like the traditional New England style spoke wheels square diamond plate fuel tanks ….excellent.. bob

  4. i understand they hold better or work better cant really say its all in the foot pressure,,,if you ask me.. you have to be carefull washing your truck what i dont like you squirt water in the big holes in the bud rims and you get black brake soot running down the rim,real pain in the ass...bob

  6. Yes as DCW says it could be as little as corrosion between the cable and the end doesn’t take much sometimes to lose connection as I mentioned I’m sure it’s a small fix .Bob
  7. Last time I saw work that precise 50 years ago a buddy of mine spliced two fenders together to make one 57 Chevy Belair he put 14 coats of black lacquer on the car and I couldn’t tell where he spliced it..: Bob

  10. I used to run one in the 80s a real healthy engine back then it would walk all over The 350 Cummins loaded doubles on the grapevine go right up very impressive for it time… Bob
  11. i used to run one 62 F model..it did not have a push button.everything on the key switch....i was also thinking possibly dead cell in one of the batteries.of coarse non charging side good luck bob...

That’s very interesting Not sure if you knew this but I worked in a tire shop way back in 73 did mostly big rigs but almost all of our customers at 10:20 split rims I would only see the bigger ones on up construction equipment my mind is slipping but I would’ve sworn we had a few customers with 1200/24I can’t remember but there wasn’t that many of them even back then. … I’ll tell you what man that’s a rough way to go especially for a skinny little kid I looked like Charles Atlas after a few weeks of swinging that tire hammer

Oh they’re gods gift to mankind that’s how I learned automatic transmission but a manual at Chief auto parts years and years ago yes sir it’s still in pretty good shape and yes no fingerprints either ha ha…. I even have one for a Briggs & Stratton and they really get down with the fine print and detail Bob

Get this I hooked up one of my welders and started playing with a chunk of sheet metal burning holes thru the steel and overbeading and lotsa rod sticking spent alotta time messing around pretty quick i noticed I was getting addicted to this and couldn’t put it down until I got it somewhat together lol going out this morning to have some more fun .. also noticed the more I do the better I’m getting at it…Bob
