  9. haha,,,in case you fellas are wondering why im always on here,lately...im on vacation....suppose to be getting things accomplished..outside..but with all the fires out here,,,,smoke is terrible and the news channels are suggesting,if you dont have to go out ,stay in the house...air quality is horrible...ok im good with that,,besides wife is gone to sandiego with here daughter and her goofy husband,,so no bosses here....im free to watch TV and play on the computer....besides i have to watch the puppies and make sure they dont get into mischief..lol...bob
  10. thats very interesting.....there used to be tons of them when i grew up in new england....mostly with diamond plate fenders...i had a push around steel model when i was a kid,,,setup that way,,,,seems more guys would be fixing them up..and getting together...with them....i know kings county truck lines...in northern california...has a restored one...look it up im sure they have photos of it..i think it has a fiberglass nose,i saw it in reno around 20 years ago,at a truck show...bob

  12. also some of you might be interested in the company was originally started by my grandfather back around 1900 he started with a horse and wagon delivering bananas....i was talking to an oldtimer back when i was a kid in the 60,s that remembered my grandfather ...he said when he was a boy my grand pop used to deliver to (his) pops farm,,,i understand back in those days,,,folks used to use more of a horse trade system....and every body knew everybody....very interesting.. but by 1970 my uncle told me,the company was way too much work for the money he was paying himself..sold it and went to work for beacon fast freight.in the shop as a foreman..brooklyn NY..he said life was alot easier and no pressure...bob
  13. thats fantastic..especially the doors.....thier as rare as hens teeth ,,,here..i have the same issue here in my area,,,but i was very lucky to find a rebuilt transmission..65 miles from here,,,and real good doors off a F model everything else is still available thru mail order........bob

  15. I posted that tractor before but you probably didn’t know my uncle told me when that photo was taking that truck was brand spanking new and it wasn’t even registered the guy just got done lettering it He said he thought it was taken in 1957 … bob

Oh yeah that’s cool I found that one years ago myself are used to have a ball riding on those rigs when I was a kid my uncle sold the business in 1970 but it was a lot of fun while it lasted I remember when I was about nine years old my dad asked me if I wanted to sweep out the trailer after they unloaded blueberries I was just about pissing myself …. Oh boy I get to work like the big guys ha ha real great memories … At the time my uncle had the best looking Riggs on the road.. bob

Aaaaaaaaaah hell,, I didn’t even know that I’ve had my DM 27 years but they have been stuck open The entire time Truck had a small front end collision and bent the shutters I have a new set I will be using but I have seen the ram trying to close them and open them before while it was running So I’m pretty sure though shutters stat still works I don’t even know if you can still buy them… bob

  20. There are two parts air activated ram on top of shutters disconnect it for now till you find parts it’s probably faulty shutter Thermostat connected to engine I try to send you photos but I am unable to good luck… bob

  23. you know if someone paid that much for it,,,im sure he or she would be coddling it same as a small dog...and like someone said,im sure its not going to leave here,,,unless its possibly australia not sure of the situation,,but i talked to a guy years ago,,,from there,,,in oakland california....and he said macks are so expensive over there..is was cheaper for him to buy R model here,and have all the drivers stuff switched over to the right side,and shipped over there.than it was to buy his R model there...like wow man...but that was 35 years ago...bob bob
