  12. good advice,,i already put one on years ago passenger side....but im going to take them both off,,,,before paint...strip them and paint everything seperate and yes they are very heavy,,,need 2 people to hang them properly,,,even when they are stripped completely,,as i said i have been collecting parts for the last 27 years,,,all i need now is a bunch of little things that you could pretty much buy at any truck dealership....have a big order coming from watts....bob

  21. haha,,,in case you fellas are wondering why im always on here,lately...im on vacation....suppose to be getting things accomplished..outside..but with all the fires out here,,,,smoke is terrible and the news channels are suggesting,if you dont have to go out ,stay in the house...air quality is horrible...ok im good with that,,besides wife is gone to sandiego with here daughter and her goofy husband,,so no bosses here....im free to watch TV and play on the computer....besides i have to watch the puppies and make sure they dont get into mischief..lol...bob
  22. thats very interesting.....there used to be tons of them when i grew up in new england....mostly with diamond plate fenders...i had a push around steel model when i was a kid,,,setup that way,,,,seems more guys would be fixing them up..and getting together...with them....i know kings county truck lines...in northern california...has a restored one...look it up im sure they have photos of it..i think it has a fiberglass nose,i saw it in reno around 20 years ago,at a truck show...bob
  23. i dont know whats up with my phone,,,sometimes it will let me post photos,,,and sometimes it doesnt...cant even post them from desktop photos...it tells me thier too large..bob
  24. also some of you might be interested in the company was originally started by my grandfather back around 1900 he started with a horse and wagon delivering bananas....i was talking to an oldtimer back when i was a kid in the 60,s that remembered my grandfather ...he said when he was a boy my grand pop used to deliver to (his) pops farm,,,i understand back in those days,,,folks used to use more of a horse trade system....and every body knew everybody....very interesting.. but by 1970 my uncle told me,the company was way too much work for the money he was paying himself..sold it and went to work for beacon fast freight.in the shop as a foreman..brooklyn NY..he said life was alot easier and no pressure...bob
