  1. I’m fixing on pulling off the fuel lines Monday and running them down to the hydraulic shop. That thing won’t start at all right now and it’s driving me crazy if nothing else I can’t move it around to where I like to sand it.
  2. I’m out running around with the old lady today. Don’t have to worry about burning up my weekends. I have every day off now thanks for that Larry.
  3. Hell, I didn’t even notice the damn things I had to scroll back to see what you were talking about ha ha thanks for that but kind of following this. I really don’t have any advice, for this guy. Oh, I could think of except for the obvious everybody has already brought up. Maybe the fuel pump was dried out too long damage. The pistons inside last one I bought was $2500 exchange and that was 40 years ago. 237 Maxidyne
  4. As you mentioned, it’s pretty much trouble free there’s not a whole lot that can go sour and yes, I remember those vertical air tanks. I got mine off an old freight truck T100 Kenworth. In fact they wound up going to work for the same company a few years later used to be Viking freight lines Now it’s Fedex freight Oh hell, I think we’re stepping all over this guy‘s tread now perhaps got him talked into air starter ha ha.. bob
  5. Thanks for all that. I think that was the problem I had I couldn’t get mine running not enough cranking power but I think I had mismatched batteries. I just decided to get rid of it all and put the air starter in. I’ll tell you what that starter was not cheap. I think I paid it thousand dollars 30 years ago exchange but yes after all these years that thing hold air forever.
  6. Thanks for the cheers brothers. I feel like I just got out of solitary confinement lots of time to play with the DM now. Fixing on diving. On that thing I was planning on staying with Fedex working the dock part time in the morning, but they don’t have a position for me right now so I told him give me a shout when you get a spot open extra play money for East Coast truck shows they said they would be calling me soon. They will have part-time forklift driver work pretty soon, but yes, it’s nice to be free of those long hours for at least a few weeks. It will be DM ha ha my puppies will be happy. I am here for them all day.
  7. Yeah, say my hear bud I am burned out don’t know hours
  8. I think only the airplane drivers get the gold watch but they did give me a gold watch after 15 years of safe driving
  9. OK, that’s my CB handle last day of truck driving after 49 years I’m pretty excited about it except it a little creepy Fedex supposedly buying me a big cake this morning when I get in right before they put their foot up my ass and tell me to get out and don’t come back… bob
  10. Long time ago, I had mismatched batteries. I think that was probably the main issue but sometimes all it takes is a bad wire somewhere…. Bob
  11. I do know then they were telling me just one of the six v was a little weak. It would make a really big difference in trying to get it started. Actually what I think about it my DM was 24 V and I was having the same issue. I got rid of everything I put in an air starter. I was never really sure what was wrong with it. I just got rid of the whole system. I’m getting old completely forgot about this one under my nose. Bob
  12. I only owned one truck with the 24 V starter and it was too long ago, but it did have 4—6 V batteries of parallel switch but yeah that would make sense. I guess even today four six volts would give you a lot more cranking power than two 12s… bob
  13. I don’t remember the chick, but I suppose I probably should’ve ha ha… I think it’s a Foto crop I don’t think any of us were there bob
  14. Hey Tom, all that skin damage deserves some brew anybody hear from Mechohaulic lately? I just noticed he disappeared.bob
  15. OK, thanks for that now that you explained it it makes sense. I thought it was something like that, but I can’t quite figure it in my head.
  16. Typical dirt truck they’re all passing everybody. I got them gone by me all day long at 80 miles an hour but yes, it looks real good.
  17. Probably mentioned there was an L cab sitting in front of someones property around 320 miles from here right on the main though way here to LA set up there for quite a while. All of a sudden last time we went through there it was gone. Southern California, I’m sure it was pretty clean
  18. OK, I’m lost. Ha ha good luck. Bob
  19. I’ve mentioned before I have three welders that I’m not very good at it. I’m still learning at least the past the stage where it looks like bird shit and actually have a little bit of flowing bead…. Bob
  20. That’s what I would do. I would just pull it off and redo it. Yes, unless your the luckiest guy on the world find one really close super clean but then $$$$$. If you’re good with the welder, you’re almost better off to work with what you got.
  21. I have the similar problem . time to start using some of the stuff . Electric horn kit bought 35 years ago I don’t even know where I put it . …. Bob
  22. Excellent thanks for letting us know. I remember you telling me you did quite about welding on that floor few years back. … bob
  23. Well, that thing looks like it has lots of life left. Good luck with it bud and yes, towing is a fortune. That’s not an option unless you’re working at local and don’t have to go very far…. Bob
  24. OK Larry it was $6,800 altogether. I thought I only had 40 feet turns out it was 68 feet all together.
